My poodles felt comfortable the whole visit.

I have always had the best experience here. I do miss Dr. Davenport but just seen a new vet on Saturday 5/17/25. She was very nice and listened as well. I brought in my standard poodle who gets way excited and she was very kind about him and handled him very well.

This is definitely the best place to get your dog fixed! They are not my regular vet, but I was looking for someone to neuter my dog and Pinion was recommended to me by multiple people! I am so glad that I went with Pinion. They are personable, professional, and they took really good care of my dog. Not to mention that their prices are fair! My dog healed very quickly and without any hiccups. The incision was closed up very cleanly. I have recommended multiple people to go here since my visit, and they have all had a good experience. Have not heard a single complaint! They are really busy so be sure that you book in advance!

    Xray of birds broken leg
    Erika L.

Our baby green cheek conure broke her leg on Christmas Eve. The following business day, we called all exotic vets hoping we'd be able to get in with a avian vet. Most appointments were a month out. But the following day Pinion called us back and was able to squeeze her in later that week. Dr Jackson performed X-rays in her office. No sedation was needed. Dr Jackson was also able to identify where the leg was broken, just below the knee. She gave us our options for treatment, told us the pros and cons of those options and gave us quotes. We decided on the splint which was a difficult one for Dr Jackson to do due to the location of the break. Four weeks later and after many rewraps of the splint, our little bird's bones healed. Now she's learning how to reuse her leg after it being in a cast for a month. Dr Jackson was always patient, kind, and you could see the love in her eyes for the precious animals she's treats. The cost for the initial appointment with xrays and the cast was just under $300. Each new wrap was $25 unless the splint had to be replaced then it was around $75. There was no charge for the rechecks. The only negative experience, the waits were long. But I feel that is normal with any doctors office for humans or animals. We can't express how grateful we are to see this little sweet bird be able to walk again and sometimes even dance. Thank you Dr Jackson and staff at Pinion.

When traveling with dogs it's so hard to know who you can trust once your dogs are out of your site. (With Covid you have to wait in the car). Trusting your dogs are NOT manhandled once out of your car and into the building. The girls were kind and carried my Italian Greyhounds in for a Nail trim. We also do drummel so their nails are nice. ;) They were kind and loving with the pups and so happy I went. ;) Being our of town I had to show proof of Rabies Shots (which I travel with) but I'm happy they do that so I know my dogs are protected!!! ;) Thanks Ladies I appreciate you taking care of the pups and a great job on nail trim for both.

Three attendants assisting a blind senior dog into the facility,

I had an amazing experience here. My dog Rosie is dog-reactive and needed to be seen, due to excessive scratching. They are small, but oh, the service I witnessed. Rosie was whisked in a side door to a private room, which no other vet i called offered to do. (Damonte Ranch wanted to put her in a crate near other dogs for 1/2 day. She is DOG-REACTIVE.) I spoke to the actual doctor here, who took time to answer all my questions and tell me how cute my dog is. I witnessed 3 technicians assisting a blind senior dog into the facility while we were there, exhibiting great empathy (see photo). Everyone on staff was gushing over Rosie, and were upbeat and friendly. I got a follow-up text to see how she is doing, and an email thanking me for choosing them. Wow! THIS is the customer experience i yearn for. Rosie and i will be back. Thank you for taking such good care of my Rosie.

I was able to take him home with meds to hopefully help some and was told he may not make it and to bring him in anytime if needed. I had to take him in Sunday early morning as you can tell he was just declining and I could not watch him suffer anymore. I was already so nervous and hesitant as he has his main vet I take him to but honestly both times I went in, they were so caring, thoughtful and most of all there for me in the hardest time of my life. Gave me a hug and you can see the tears in one of the staffs eyes. I wish I remember all their names cause they honestly made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. I never want to go through an emergency again as I have two cats still but if I did, I will 100% be going here. Thank you all so much for everything, you are amazing and mostly thank you for caring for my baby Zeus!

He was stumbling a lot more than usual and having trouble breathing. I called this emergency vet and let them know our situation and that we were on our way. There were a lot of people in the waiting room when we arrived. I was afraid we would have to wait while my little guy was struggling to breath and possibly in pain. However, they quickly led us into a room and took my dog into the back right away. They gave him something to help with pain and ease his breathing. They wrapped him in a soft blanket and gave him back to us. They told us we can have all the time we needed with him and to let them know when we are ready for the veterinarian to come in. When we were ready, the vet came pretty quickly. Again, I was surprised as they were obviously very busy. She explained everything she was going to do. We held our little guy in our arms as she administered the medication. She let us hold him and patiently listened to us talk about him. When we felt we had said our goodbyes, she took him from us and gave her condolences. It was an emotional night but this entire staff was friendly and compassionate. Thank you so much for helping us through a difficult time.

They also said to bring Curly to Peak if they the seizures got worse. On Friday, Curly started having frequent seizures. I called my vet to see if they had an opening - no. I called Peak and was told to bring him right in. Curly was taken back immediately, as he was having a seizure as I brought him in. Dr. Pruyn explained all the possible causes of his seizures in ways I could understand. After several tests, Dr. Pruyn and I decided the most humane course was to put Curly to sleep. Dr. Pruyn, Montana, and all of the staff were all incredibly compassionate, giving hugs, and totally understanding of my tears and sobs. They asked about cremation, and didn't press me when I said I wanted to arrange it myself. I got to take Curly home and say some private goodbyes. Between the sense of urgency they showed in prioritizing Curly's emergency ( despite other patients waiting), their compassion, and their gentle guidance in making my decision, I can say Peak is the best veterinary experience I've ever had, in Reno or elsewhere.

It was Saturday, Memorial Day weekend, and our dear pooch was suddenly not doing well again and our vet's office is closed for the long weekend. After searching online for veterinarian services on weekends, I made multiple empty calls, I randomly found Peak Pet Urgent Care. They ask the usual questions regarding our pooch's condition, took our name and call back number and informed us they would call us when it was getting close to our place on the list. The call finally came and we made a beeline to Peak Pet's Urgent Care Clinic. Two employees came out to our vehicle to carry our pooch in. After all the necessary screening by one of the technician's permission was granted to treat our pet. Our Emma, was not going to get better and we made the difficult but necessary choice. Dr Haitz, DVM was the veterinarian that had examined Emma, consulted with us and explained each step of the procedure as she humanely administered the required procedures to Emma. I want to thank Dr Haitz for her compassionate professionalism during a difficult time for us. All employees at the Peak Pet Urgent Care were extremely warm, helpful, and made our situation less stressful. Thanks to all of you for your excellence in service and helping us during this crucial episode. Within 5 days we received Emma's ashes. We also received a card with a great surprise (see photo). The calming environment helps reduce the stress of vet visits, and the breathtaking mountain views add to the serene atmosphere. Parking is easy and convenient. The first-time appointment costs $160 total, which felt a bit steep for the Reno area. It requires a $50 deposit to book the appointment, with the remaining $110 due on the day of the visit. New clients should also expect to wait a couple of months for a first-time appointment, depending on the veterinarian. The staff and nurses are incredibly sweet, welcoming, and professional. I enjoyed meeting Dr. Brown she seemed knowledgeable and caring, and she took plenty of time to address my concerns and answer my questions. During our first appointment, I was hoping for a more holistic approach to my dog's care, similar to the philosophy of Dr. Karen Becker (author of The Forever Dog). I was looking for guidance based on peer-reviewed studies around raw diets, nutrition, natural lifestyle choices, and all-natural prevention for longevity. Instead, after some initial discussion, the conversation quickly shifted to the standard recommendations for vaccines and flea/tick medications. I was a bit disappointed by that. After the appointment, I was referred to a local nutritionist and recommended for a dental cleaning. However, the estimate for dental cleaning, bloodwork, titer tests, and vaccines came to nearly $4,093.85, which shocked me. Because of the high cost, I decided to seek more budget-friendly and pragmatic options at another local veterinarian for vaccines and dental work, and I'll likely continue there to keep expenses manageable. The communication process also felt confusing and unnecessarily complicated at first. Everything is handled through text messages that link to the patient portal on their website. While the team usually responds the same day or within 24 hours for non-urgent messages, the back-and-forth and need to navigate the portal made simple tasks like scheduling the dental cleaning and receiving the diet recommendation -- feel frustrating. As someone who prefers more traditional, direct communication (such as a quick phone call), this system was challenging for me. Overall, it's a solid practice with great people and a lovely facility. It's luxury with a premium price for pet care. I especially appreciated the thoughtful welcome card they mailed to me with everyone's signature -- that was a nice personal touch. They could improve by streamlining their communication, offering more competitive pricing, and reducing wait times for new patients. I'd consider returning in the future with some hesitation, particularly if they can provide more reasonable rates and a stronger focus on holistic care in line with Dr. Karen Becker's philosophy in The Forever Dog. With an unlimited budget, I would happily go back.
