I bought a brand new vehicle here a year and a half ago and the battery died on me. I called to ask if the battery still had warranty and they guy said it didnt so i go buy a brand new battery at oreilly and schedule an oil change for the upcoming week. Once there i complain of how an almost brand new vehicle didnt have warranty on a battery! After my truck goes in for a routine oil change, the SA comes back and tells me my truck requires additional repairs like brakes replaced because it squeals, tail light is out, and fuel injection needs cleaning. After I agree to get the additional repairs, I come to find out the bulb was never replaced, the throttle still feels the same, and my brakes still squeals a few days later. I'll just re-post what I submitted for their customer survey: I've brought my vehicle in twice in the past month or so for the same set of issues. Each time, they failed to find anything wrong and made no repairs. My long list of issues are all systemic issues related to the vehicle's electronic system (probably a defect in the system design or build from the factory), but the service team isn't diagnosing the situation from a systemic view; rather, they're looking at isolated symptoms (which on any given day may or may not be detectable) and thinking in terms of isolated solutions (which your service team deems to be unnecessary if a symptom is not detectable at that moment). They're probably trained to think in this cookie-cutter, by-the-manual, simple cause & effect approach, and are not so good at complex problem-solving requiring creative analysis. With your flawed approach, nobody ever considers if the electronic system in my vehicle is fundamentally flawed, resulting in different electronic issues appearing sporadically at different times. The latest issue is that the car shuts off while driving and sometimes won't start at all until several attempts at ignition. Is that safe? Are the lives of my wife and infant daughter in danger? I wonder if many other customers are experiencing similar electronic system failures? I wonder if GM is aware of it? I wonder if GM is denying it again like it infamously tends to do? Who will be the leader at your organization that owns up to this and takes a deeper dive into the issues with my vehicle and prevents unnecessary harm to your customers? Oh, I almost forgot, your service manager, Steve, threatened to send a team to confiscate my rental car if I didn't return it immediately upon his orders. He was extremely argumentative even though I never once resorted to angry, profane, or threatening speech. His behavior is the best-ever strategy for losing a customer who had up to that point been highly satisfied with his dealership. Now I can't wait to be done with you all. read more

My previous review was of the sales process. Fast forward 3 years and this review is for the service center. No problems with the quality of the services performed. My issue is with their business practices. If you are a woman with a small child and short on time and patience, I highly recommend finding another maintenance center. Their reps are extremely smart and position everything as an absolute safety risk and necessity to fix/replace right now. They prey on the fact that time is limited and you are conveniently already there and the fix will only add another few minutes to your appointment and the costs are competitive (especially considering if you leave here you'll have to do all the shopping around, that should be worth a few extra dollars in the grand scheme of things). Appealing to a mom with an impatient toddler ready for his nap. My appointment last week was the last straw. I went in for a free inspection and left $100 poorer for 3 new wiper blades!! They wouldn't conduct the inspection without them, what was I do to? I should have told him forget it bring my truck back I'm out of here, but I didn't have another day to handle the inspection before the end of the month. I was seriously lacking time and energy to deal with this problem. Against my better judgement I approved the replacement of the front and rear wiper blades. Of course when I got home and had a moment to think about it, I did some quick research and was irritated all over again. Wiper blades must only be in good working order...mine were absolutely fine. Looking back I should have requested the ones they replaced so I had proof of adequate condition, my fault for not thinking clearly at the time. Secondly, and more aggravating, the rear windshield wiper is NOT part of the inspection therefore unnecessary to change 'in order to complete the inspection.' Totally took advantage of me; I am kicking myself for being the cliche automotive-ignorant woman that gets taken every time she goes to the service center because she trusts the team to be honest. Well I'm done. I am currently taking recommendations for a service center that appreciates the fact that I am not stupid, just a (usually frazzled) mom trying to check-off everything on her to-do list before the next nap time. If I could give you a negative, I would. When I arrived to have recalls addressed, the first thing Steve asked was, "did you buy your vehicle from us." Little did I know that someone would take it upon themselves to add the Ewing dealer stickers to my personal property while my truck was being serviced. Did they really think I wouldn't notice? I don't recall seeing "add dealer's name to exterior of vehicle" in the recall bulletins. I am not their traveling billboard, and they should strongly reconsider this practice. They have no right whatsoever to add their name to my personal property. How about I drop by and add my name to one of their vehicles? I will never again purchase from or trust my vehicle to someone that has a total disregard and respect for their customer. ----------------------------- Despite what the manager is trying to lead one to believe in replying to my review, the truth is that my truck was delivered from Houston and they didn't have time to detail, let alone have time to brand it with their name when I drove it off the lot. I posted a review but for some reason I don't see it so am reposting. I have had a GMC Acadia for 10 years which I purchased from this dealer and I have always really liked the vehicle. But I recently took it in for a recall and also to fix a mirror. The work was not done satisfactorily and my complaints have been pretty much ignored. I have sent letters to the Service Manager Ann Johnson, to the Dealer Owner, and even to the Sales Manager and NO RESPONSE. Now looking at other reviews I am shocked at how many other one-star ratings this dealer gets. They really do not care. Anyway as a result, my joy of ownership is completely gone and now I just can't wait to get rid of the vehicle. So anyone want to buy a 2009 Acadia with 32,000 miles and in good shape? I had a nice truck buying experience here. David S. and his manager Michael both made the transaction as smooth as possible. They gave me a fair trade value and a good price on a new 2015 GMC Canyon. David was low pressure and that made me much more comfortable with my decision. He even took the time to go ahead and let me drive a 2015 Yukon Denali as I was considering that vehicle too. In the end I loved the lighter weight, utility, and cheaper price tag of the Canyon so it won. After negotiating trade and price I was able to put down a small deposit and then return the next day to finalize everything and pick up the truck. Super convenient for my schedule. David took time to setup the Onstar and go over as many features as I would allow. The man in finance (sorry I forgot the name) was nice as well. I was paying cash and he didn't try to beat me up by pushing a lease and wasn't too high pressure when I told him I didn't want the extended warranty at this time. They even allowed me to go ahead and take the truck and my wife was able to drop by a bit later to sign over the title for my trade. I'm not really brand loyal but I do like this GMC and I'd buy a GMC from Ewing again. read more

Horrible workmanship and liars! I took my benz out there because they are connected with MB of Plano. It was insurance work that other party was paying for so that was all good. BUT once i got my car back, i literally had to take it back 3-4 times for work not done properly. C'mon...3-4 times of repeated work?!? Get your shit together is all i have to say! Even after all this hassle, Ewing did a great job sticking me with hundreds of dollars of rental car fees (which they were supposed to pay for due to the car being back on the shop so many times AFTER their first finished final work). The guy in the service department got me in fast, checked out his inventory on his IPad for what I needed and bam! process started! The guys also noticed I had some hail damage on my truck and that reminded me that I needed to get that taken care of as well. Which they do their to! This is the absolute worst car dealership, EVER!!! We purchased a GMC Acadia SUV NOT EVEN 2 years ago. We took it in for an oil sending unit & the service department & Jim Beardon messed up our car, they said it was complete.. we picked it up and it broke down after leaving the dealership not even 3 mins later!! How do they not check their work???? We brought it back & they had to replace an entire engine on our extended warranty! After $14,000 of repair & labor cost, we got our car back. We have only had the chance to drive 30k miles until it broke again on the middle of George bush in Irving on the way to the little mermaid show in ft worth with all 4 of my kids in the car! We have four daughters, ages 6, 4, and 3 year-old twins. This car is a family vehicle and it's purpose is to SAFELY transport my family to all of our various activities and responsibilities... church, school, grocery store etc. It was so dangerous and scary!! After being stranded on the side of the highway for 45min in the hot Texas summer we Thankfully we were able to get help from the police officers & AAA !!! They said this is unheard of and extremely dangerous & inconvenient! We took it back to Jim Beardon, who was sarcastic & rude said that it was not the engine or their fault but they would check it.. sure enough it was!!! We had to prove that we have been maintaining the car well... Which we have gotten oil changes every 3 to 5000 miles at NTB. She went on to say NTB was not a reputable company but they would have to accept it because we had all the documents of it all so they then had to give us ANOTHER ENGINE!! In an 18 month span! We haven't had our car with a new engine back for one and it's already broken agaiin! Jim was awful his manager said her hands were tied and even the hm just said he couldn't help anymore than he already has! We are now calling GMC again!!! Never go here! Never buy GMC ! Had a great experience getting a vehicle here. The salesmen were not too pushy (Darrell and Randy) and after doing research on the internet and test driving took the Terrain home after a weekend (they let me take one to test drive for a weekend). Everyone was very upfront and informative. I am not much of a negotiator so I'm not sure what the experience would have been like from that perspective. When I was taking the car home, I met everyone from the service manager to the financial manager-all were very considerate and very customer oriented. Took me through the ropes on all of the bells and whistles on the car and then drove me over to service so I would know where to take the car. Not sure about the service department as the car is new, but all in all-everyone seems very friendly and helpful. read more

I brought in my 2011 Buick Lacrosse in for AC repairs. It is the middle of summer here in Texas so it was crucial that it be repaired. Steve, the customer service rep, has been here a while since he helped me about a year ago. He remembered who I was. He has a way of making all his customers feel very important. My car had several issues and the compressor was on back order. Not only did Steve call me every couple of days, he was personable and friendly even though I know he was completely swamped. It is SO hard to find employees like Steve. My husband and I own Powerhouse Films and we know that when you find someone like Steve you are extremely lucky. Bought a used SUV this weekend. Worked with Don Yancy. He is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and not pushy at all. We had been looking at a similar vehicle at another dealership that was much lower price but after speaking with Don, realized it was not going to suffice for what we needed. Don did his best to get us an affordable price so we could get the better vehicle. Finance guy was also quick and friendly. One of the more pleasant vehicle purchase experiences I have had. Terrible service department! Impossible to get an appointment unless you show up in person. Phone rings and rings. Eventually someone answers and says "everyone is busy-I'll take your name and number and have someone call you back." They NEVER call back. This is a pattern I've experienced over and over. Today, after not getting a call back which was no surprise I asked for a manager. Got his voice mail and I left a message expressing my frustration and asked for a call back, and if you don't return my call I will write a candid review and find a different dealership where I'm actually able to schedule an appointment. My husband and I were shopping for a new car for our expanding family. We found a GMC Terrain Denali on the new inventory part of Ewing's website. We had never driven or been familiar with the GMC vehicles before. After arriving to test drive it, we were taken on an extended test drive where we both got to drive the vehicle on and off the highway and also got information on the vehicle and Intellilink system in the car. This extended drive and information gained made our experience feel more genuine and more comfortable with the possible buying experience at Ewing. We were happy with our first GMC purchase, and being at Ewing! We were surprised at the price and payment that was brought back to us, and signed right then and there! No haggle pricing at all and we felt like everything we had questions about was covered with us. We left the dealership feeling educated on our vehicle, the 2 year free oil changes/tire rotations services granted, and the warranties available. I came in this time for a check engine light that ended up being covered under the power train warranty. I left paying over $130 in services I did not need and some I did not request. I was called to approve an oil change and I had told the service manager that I looked that morning and there was still 60% left (they tried to sell me on one when I came in 6 weeks earlier too). He called back again and said it wasn't really a choice to have the oil changed because it needed oil, so I agreed (now I believe that I was right and it did not need an oil change- I do keep up on the regular maintenance of my car). I was also asked about the cabin filter. I agreed because he was so insistent, and I take responsibility for being "duped" into it because looking at the record from 6 weeks earlier, I already had a filter changed at your location... I know it may be a different filter, but I feel like they pick one and sell me on it each time I come in. When I came to pick up the car I was expecting to pay less than $100 (I originally came in not wanting to spend any money) but was surprised when it was almost $150! I asked why. The said the filter, the oil change, tire rotation and inspection. I was upset that I was not asked about the tire rotation. I had just got the tires replaced within the last month and I get free tire rotations for life at the place I purchased it at. They said it was part of the oil change package. When I protested (no one asked me about the tire rotation or told me they came together) they said they can take off the $5 charge for the tire rotation but there was no way to take off the charges for the labor. My family is looking to buy a bigger car now that we have a child and did consider using EWING but are not going to use them now for our new purchase. read more

This dealership was a bright spot in an otherwise awful situation. My tires and wheels were stolen off my vehicle. When I called to arrange service, the phone was answered promptly and I dealt with the same person (Rick) who assisted me through the entire process. He assisted me with communicating with insurance, went to bat on my behalf with the insurance and even gave great advice. I had my truck serviced the week before at a different dealership. The other place was supposed to fix a recall which they found had not been addressed and fixed it while it was there. This location is an hour from me but it is definitely worth the drive for further needs. I trust them 100%. In addition, their facilities are very nice, welcoming and accommodating for any needs (rental return on location etc). Plus they serve fresh baked cookies while you wait although I had absolutely no wait when I arrived. Work was performed within 2 days and Rick was excellent about keeping me informed during the process. read more

Wow, I can't begin to write all the things that went wrong with my service at Ewing. Although the service staff was kind, they misdiagnosed the problem, charged me for things that did not fix the problem, then when I had to return it again, they again misdiagnosed the problem.Even the "fixes" caused problems which did not exist before we took it in!! Everyone can make a mistake, so I give them one star, but still, it did not go well. The problems were correctly diagnosed and fixed at another dealership. read more

The service department here is above average. Even though they are a little pricey, they aren't aggressive salesmen on service products and they try to make sure you are satisfied before you leave. They are rated and paid on a client survey that comes after each visit, so that helps keep them on their toes. I have had a couple of issues, but otherwise I have been pleased with the experience. read more
