I took my Kia in for some basic service and also asked them to diagnose a check engine light. I already owned a scan tool and knew I could verify the code myself, but I wanted a professional diagnosis. I was shocked by what happened next. The dealership gave me a diagnostic code that turned out to be incorrect and then quoted me nearly $500 for the part and another nearly $500 in labor to fix the supposed issue. That immediately raised red flags. Instead of authorizing the repair, I verified the code myself. Two days later, I had the actual issue repaired for $105.96 total. The code they provided wasn't even the correct one. Whether this was due to incompetence or an attempt to sell an unnecessary repair, neither explanation is acceptable. Customers trust dealerships to provide accurate diagnostics and honest recommendations, not inflated estimates based on incorrect information. This experience reinforced how important it is for consumers to get a second opinion, verify diagnostic codes when possible, and not blindly accept expensive repair estimates. Had I not taken the time to investigate, I could have easily spent close to $1,000 on a repair that ultimately cost just over $100. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this service department. I expected honesty and expertise from a dealership, and unfortunately, I received neither. read more

Truly abysmal customer service. I had a relatively simple recall, and I ordered a new key, and it turned into dozens of phone calls back and forth and multiple trips to the dealer. If you want an expedient and easy experience with good communication, this is not the place to go. They ran my credit 15 times... decided to put my co-signer as the primary... pulled a bait and switch twice while "adjusting the price to the original vehicle" yet not actually adjusting a thing... threatened to repo the vehicle due to their mess up... added $30 to the price after I signed documents... decided to not apply the down payment to get the vehicle at the price I told them I needed or I'd walk (they stole the down payment)... and tomorrow will be the 3rd time to sign paperwork for ownership. They're so incredibly rude. I got an oil change, the advisor and front receptionist ridiculed me because I had hail damage. They called me to the front to pay and we're looking at me and laughing. The advisor said "looks like you got hit pretty bad by the hail" and was looking me up and down and I told him I don't think it's that bad and he goes "oh really" scoffed and walked away. I paid with cash and the receptionist tried to pocket my change, asked if I wanted it. Then she went to the back and flirted with some guy loudly, and he asked her if she could count it or if she needed a calculator. It genuinely took her a few minutes to get my change. I called management, got the receptionist again, and she knew exactly who I was and laughed loudly. Gave me a hard time on who exactly I needed to talk to. They said they would call me back, no one did. He said that the way I was treated is not how they do things there. When I originally called to ask if I could schedule my time at 4, reception told me if I did that I probably wouldn't get my car back..for an oil change. They also quoted me They said they would do a car wash, there was still lots of dirt on the bottom, it honestly looked the same as when I took it in. Worst decision ever. Bought a 2021 Kia Seltos June 2023 with a bad engine & warped rotors. Multiple visits after it being ignored the morning after purchase. I think his name was Cliff? Some service dept mgr who assured all is well, these engines are made to tick & sound like this lol. Insane. I should have accepted their Freudian slip to take my beautiful car back they accidentally had ready when they misunderstood that I wanted the Seltos checked out. As in what we started doing in August. At that point my credit was already hit so whatever. We failed to discuss how they like many others don't often have loaners OR maybe only for quick service visits like oil changes? Not sure. New engine in September at 24k. Today I'll return the car at Frisco because the new engine is repeating as the original did at 10k miles. Multiple safety sensors are also faulty now since the new engine. This car is a lemon but they needed to get rid of it. I can't walk to work or walk to my child's treatments. I regret this place so much. read more

Incredible service experience. I made sure to do some research before bringing in my 2019 Stinger GT1 and saw this was the only Kia worth going to in all of DFW. The internet did not disappoint! Little back story wife and I had visited a few another car dealership days prior. Wife found the car she wanted at that point salesperson had done their job. After doing that whole dreadful back and forth with negotiations we agreed upon a price. We had to go home and get the wife's car, We asked the salesperson would the car still be available when we returned, we explained that it would take 1hour 15 minutes to return, and he stated "no problem at this car dealership we value our customers" . We were 10-15 minutes into our return trip when all of a sudden I called the salesperson and to my dismay his voicemail picked up. I left him a message, we are on our way. I received a text shortly saying the car had sold. I called and spoke with the salesperson, "well I guess they didn't want you to buy that car" . So with my wife feeling hurt I set out on a mission to find her the right car, after contacting every Hyundai Genesis dealer within 3 hours of us, I found the perfect car at your dealership. When I called I could say I had a preconceived notion that this salesperson would say whatever they say to get you in the door. My wife and I were not ready for (Fred "LUSCIOUS" Jones) We told him what happened, we asked about 2023 Genesis GV80 he said I got one right here. He went outside in the rain to the Genesis and faced time us to show us the car miles, the interior, and to go over features. I stopped him and explained we were already sold on the car, I wanted to make sure they had one available for sale, TODAY. .I explained we lived approx.. 1hour away and we would be there at 1:00p we asked would you please hold the car until we got there (absolutely) he said and asked a few question. I explained my hesitancy in believing he was a man of his word after the previous incident at another dealership we visited a few days prior. Before heading out in the stormy weather, I called and asked is the car still available (Fred "LUSCIOUS" Jones) said, "Man, yes it is and I need to reprogram you," as we both laughed. When we arrived the car was clean and parked out front and ready to go. It took more time driving to the dealership then purchasing the car. My wife and I can't tell you what a wonderful atmosphere you have created at this dealership. Terrible customer service in the Service department. My 2 year old telluride (purchased here in June 2021) had the sunroof go off of the tracks. Unfortunately for me, I decided to open it Friday morning when the weather was 80 degrees driving my daughter to school. It made a loud noise and opened halfway sideways and won't close. I called at 8:30 AM after it happened and was told someone would call me back about this. Never got a call... so I called back at 4:30 PM and was told that they see no note that I was expecting a call back. They said they'd make it urgent and have someone call me before they close at 7. YET AGAIN NO PHONE CALL. So I emailed them, no response!!! I have a 5 year old, a 1 year old and I'm 14 weeks pregnant . It is consistently 106+ DEGREES outside and my car is TWO YEARS OLD. Problems like this shouldn't happen, but if they do, they should absolutely be responded to and NOT IGNORED. I will be writing corporate about the disgrace that is this franchise. read more

When it came time to have our 5,000 mile oil change, tire rotation, full check up we went over to Huffines Kia McKinney. I can put their service in two woords "NAILED IT" They answer when you call them unlike the other place. When we arrived today Hunter met us at the door to the service department and took excellent care of us. It was like we were his only customers, this made my wife and I feel so great. They also used bullying tactics to seek payment for a goodwill part Kia USA was willing to pay for on our behalf, such as threatening to report the loaner car we were given as stolen, and to tow our car off their lot before their repairs/replacement was complete. The right thing to do would be for Huffines to repair what they accidentally damaged without seeking unfounded compensation or hardship. Additionally 2 other independent shops have confirmed the electrical issues were indeed caused by their negligence. Oh wow I didn't know it was possible to have an amazing dealership experience! Ask for Cooper! He really took care of us :) Every other time I've bought a car from a dealer I always walked out with my excitement over a new car weighed down by the slimy feeling of having gone through an awful, painful and very long dealership experience. Our experience at Huffines Kia McKinney was 100% the opposite! My car died a few days ago and we decided to get the new Kia Carnival. I literally called every dealer within a six hour drive of San Antonio and found about 15 available Carnivals, and every single one had a $5000 dealer markup due to the Great Car Shortage. Then I called Huffines and I couldn't believe what I was hearing when they told me they had one car available and that they don't charge markups on Kia vehicles. I called my husband and we tried to figure out what their shady angle was but ultimately decided that we had to give it a try so we hustled to make the five hour drive from San Antonio to Dallas. We were bracing ourselves for the big catch where we'd get screwed somehow, and we budgeted 3 hours to get in and out (it took four hours last time I bought a car!) We'd already put the car on reserve and done a credit check in hopes that it might expedite things once we got there. We had a very pleasant and fast experience with Cooper and then he passed us on to finance, and we braced ourselves because in previous experiences that's always where we got screwed. But no, our experience with Miguel in finance was just as pleasant! He offered us packages but didn't try to push anything. We finished with Miguel in less than 15 minutes, and literally within 40 minutes of walking into the dealership we drove out with a new car! After all the papers were signed, we asked about our unusually pleasant experience and the lack of markup, and both Cooper and Miguel told us that the philosophy of the dealership is to provide a good purchasing experience, especially when times are tough, and that they never charge markups on Kias. My 2019 hybrid kia niro started to flood with error and maintenance messages that even impeded my car being driven! I was really worried and frantically called several Kia service departments to schedule a check for my car. HUFFINES kia was the only one willing to allow me to walk in the next day. Another unacceptable, disappointing experience with this dealership. Took my car in for it's required oil change and received it back in worse condition then I dropped it off. They left a large noticeable scratch on my front grill. They broke my cup holder trash can. Not sure why your technicians were even messing with this for an oil change? They left my car a mess, with a bunch of odd white flakes all over the interior of my car? Not once did I feel that the manager was apologetic or embarrass that her team treated my car this way. We had a horrible experience buying the car from them and an equally horrible experience with its first maintenance here. I bought a new 2024 Kia Telluride SX Pro, actually ordered it and picked up from Rockwall Dealership off the truck. I live in Allen, and have tried Mckinney Kia Huffines for recalls, as there have been 4 in 8 months. They never have the recall parts, have to bring the vehicle in twice- once to inspect, and then wait a week or two and bring it back to be installed, even with public safety issues like the seat slider issue with a potential for a car fire! Took my Kia in for a recall for seat issue, and they tell me there is a recall for my trim. Mind you, i keep my vehicle prestine, and no trim issue was observed when i took it inI wash it every week.. I pickup up my car, and asked about the trim issue. The service rep points it out on another car, not like make model. I'm like no, show me on my car. Omg... all trim around my Kia is now flopping all over the place, to the point i was concerned about the drive home. The service advisor says, "yeah, there is a recall!" Livid at this point, as my Kia did not have a trim issue when i took it in, now certainly does, and i'm told a week out! How can i trust this dealership to do anything with my vehicle! It took me only a couple of minutes after meeting John Criste to realize that it was not going to a great Customer experience at the dealer. I had all intentions to purchase a car and to be treated as a valued Customer the same way I value the quality of KIA, but that was not the case. The expectations set by the dealer tool available on their portal including trading off my vehicle was very high but it turned-out that the deal offered in-person was almost 3.5 times more expensive nor to mention John's attitude after a potential Customer. This included JC not disclosing information of comparison between 2021 and 2022 model rebates. One start is probably too much but there is no option for less than that. Please expect follow-up on this review as I will be visiting other KIA dealers in the Metroplex. read more

Originally a 1-star. But contact from GM Dale slightly raised my opinion. Background: Brought in my car for a simple warranty service. Was upsold an oil change. Next day I'm told my oil pan is leaking horribly and quoted $1240.00 to repair. I'm told they can show me pictures. Never saw any. Consider: 1) I park in the same place every day in my driveway. 2) Not one drop of oil ever seen there, nor have I ever had to add oil. I refused the extra service, and guess what? No problems of any kind. Just drove to Oklahoma and back - not a drop lost. If dealing with Amanda, be sure to ask for pictures or to speak with the mechanic. Update: Kia's GM called and has shown what sounds like a genuine desire to get to the root of the issue - whether its a problem with honesty in the garage or just a lack of clarity. When I went in and left I felt the service was good. However, they recommended a couple of things specifically 2 new tires, and stated they could not rotate them because two tires were too bald. I checked them and they were not but it wasn't worth the argument. The bigger issue was they said I needed new brake pads and rotors turned. Specifically, they said the pads were down to 2 Millimeters in the back and down to 5 in the front. I found this odd for the low mileage on the car so I took it to two different places (firestone and Breaks Plus) both of them came back and said the brakes were fine and they are at 6 mil in the front and 5 in the rear. I find this practice of lying to get more money dishonest. I would always recommend getting another opinion if they suggest work needs to be done. Update- 2/14/2024 The GM Frank White Reached out to me and we agreed that a mistake was made and Frank made the situation right. The actions they took to resolve the issue have restored my trust in them and I am updating this review from 1 star to 5 stars. read more

Guys, it's seriously worth it to skip this location and do business with Bob Utter Kia in Sherman. Both Huffines locations are incredibly tight-fisted-- which is a huge turn off. The "no hassle" price works very well... for them lol It's an argument to negotiate with either location so I recommend you save yourself the frustration and get the best deal the first go-around. My sales guy@ bob Utter mentioned they're reluctant to even ask for transfers from the Huffines locations because they won't budge on pricing-- and if you know Kia, you are well versed in their depreciation, so you want to pay as little as possible to drive off the lot. Glad I went with Bob Utter. Had I buckled to Huffines, I would've been stiffed for $1250 and that would've bugged me for my entire ownership of the car-- no one wants to endure that feeling of being "had" I really hope you folks enjoy your new Kia as much as I'm enjoying mine :) Good luck ! read more

Huffines Kia service department is the smoothest operating and most professional vehicle services I've worked with. My car was having serious issues and needed a new oil pump, they quoted me a reasonable price and had it repaired in a week. When we got the car back, we were frustrated and surprised to find the exact same issue the same day we'd picked up the car. We called Huffines right back and they were very attentive and apologetic. They towed the car from where it had broken down, diagnosed the issue in a day or two as needing a whole new transmission, and set us up with a rental car. The can was covered under a manufacturer warranty, and Jeorge was helpful in explaining that they did extra digging to absolutely ensure that it was covered under warranty. They initially told me it could take a month to repair, but I was pleasantly surprised when they communicated that the parts had arrived early and they'd work to get it done within a few days of receiving the parts. I would highly recommend using their services. I will hopefully not have to be back anytime soon with any car issues, but I know where I'll be going if I need service. read more
