I can't say enough about Janeth Alfaro, owner/operator and Exacto Line Painting. I recently bought a cute townhouse-style condo in the Marina district of downtown San Diego. The design was exactly what I had been looking for but having been a rental, the unit needed a lot of tender care. The walls were dingy looking and the baseboards had seen better days. The first task I gave Exacto Line was to paint the entire interior -- which they did in record time with no touching up required. A fresh coat of paint breathed new life into the forty-year-old condo. But I could see that the small compact kitchen needed help. While the cabinets were is surprisingly good condition for the age of the unit, the dark wood made the small area look even smaller -- and a little depressing. Not knowing whether Exacto Line Painting would be willing to take on the task of refinishing the cabinets, I asked Janeth's advice. And as the cabinets had a glossy finish, I wasn't even sure if the cabinets could be refinished. But undaunted, Janeth easily agreed and added the task to her schedule. Although there was no need to paint the inside of the cabinets, I recognized that there was a lot of detail in the design of the cabinet front and a lot of preparation would be required in order ensure that the paint would adhere, and asked Janeth how long the job might take. As my nephew occupies the condo, I was concerned that I would be, again, extending the time that he was forced to endure "living in a "war zone." But Janeth's response was a shockingly-short three days. I was sure that the was underestimating the labor involved. But Amazingly, the kitchen cabinets were completed in just three days and the finish is perfect! Even my typically-picky nephew had to agree that they had done an amazing job in a very short time and cleaned-up to the point that had you not known that the cabinets had just been painted, you would never know that they had ever been there! It wasn't the biggest project but I really appreciated her quick responses and great communication throughout the process. From the pictures I attached, you can see that our front door was a poop brown color chosen by our builder so we wanted to update it to a beautiful royal blue. It's perfect! She did a great job not only painting the door and detailing the small corners etc, but she also made sure our floors and everything was protected prior to starting. Of course I was worried about using them because of the low reviews but I am so glad I had Janeth come out to provide a quote. Of course I was nervous to go with the best price because sometimes you get what you pay for...not remotely the case this time! Her team was professional and thorough in taping and covering everything. Their attention to detail was flawless. I watched them taping and covering everything and saw them taking their time to redo taping around light switches because they weren't happy with the first covering. We were being quoted upwards of $700+ for painting the front and back of a side gate from various other vendors. Exacto Line was exactly what we were looking for! We've dealt with a lot of contractors and workers on our house this year, and we've definitely had our share of problems with many of them. Exacto Line was the exception. They are a family run business and they take pride in their work and in making customers happy. Janeth oversaw everything and was the point of contact. If we had any questions she was on it. We had some questions about the differences between paints, and when there were a couple questions she couldn't answer she brought out a rep from the paint company. After getting all the info we decided to upgrade paint a couple levels as we felt paying a few hundred extra would be well worth the money in the extra time and protection we'd get in the long run. In the end we were very happy because the higher level paint filled in some cracks and unwanted texture on some eves much better than a standard paint would have. Long story short, Janeth and her team went above and beyond and did what was expected and beyond.
