Back in Nov. '18, my car was unfortunately the last one hit in a chain reaction accident on 610 W (the guy who started it all was most likely on his phone or wasn't paying enough attention to see that traffic had come to a stop in front of him; he didn't even attempt to break before smashing into the first car). Among other damages, the left side of my car's bumper was split, had a lot of paint scratched off, and had a big eyesore of an indentation. In addition, the trunk was misaligned to the right, couldn't shut without using added force and had some dents on top as well. The left side taillights were slightly cracked too. Fast forward to June '19, I finally get around to getting the repairs needed on my car. The insurance company of the guy at fault recommended affiliated repair shops, so I did what any savvy consumer in this situation should do... I looked up a whole bunch of shops and read their reviews on various websites so that I could make an informed decision. The first shop that I went to was rated highly, but I wasn't received well when I went for an estimate. The next shop was Excel. I was already leery based on the vibe I got from the other shop, but Marvin turned out to be great to work with. We did a tour of the damages, and I was able to drop off my car on the same day. Marvin called in for my rental car, and one of the techs from the shop dropped me off to pick up the rental. During the repair process, I was kept up to date by Marvin, and he has great phone etiquette! Aside from that, one of the best parts is that when I pressed for an OEM bumper, Marvin negotiated for one by working with my car's dealership when the insurance company wanted to go for a salvaged bumper. He also smoothed out some unrelated dings on trunk of the car. When I picked up my car, I was very satisfied with the workmanship! Bumper replaced, dents and dings gone, misalignments were realigned, and the paint was matched, smooth and gleaming! I even went to the dealership where I purchased my car that same day for servicing, and the tech there asked if I had just bought my car o.0 I can see why they're called Excel... because they excel at what they do! They're even a certified Honda and Acura repair shop! If that doesn't clue you in on the quality of their work, I don't know what will. Excel provides a level of precision that standard alignment shops don't. They will spend the time with you to help you understand the concepts and techniques that they use. They used a method that another shop recommended and it ended up being about the same price. But, it was reassuring to hear that it was the best method to solve my problem. read more

Marvin and his team are fantastic! Friendly and professional! I was dealing with someone else's insurance, and Marvin offered to look at the car because I was worried about having the rental car for too long, every other body shop just said bring it in. This place steal stuff. Be sure to look thru your car when you pick up. They stole my trunk cover when I picked up after the repair. They didn't say anything till I found out couple months later. There's no work done inside, I have no idea why they removed it. When I called, they said they don't know anything and will look for it. They returned phone call stating that they have it. But they still didn't explain the reason for removing it. After that I've been busy, when I called to pick it up, they said "you are lucky that we saved it". Excuse me? If y'all don't "remove" it at first place, I wouldn't need to come get it. Attached is a picture of the trunk cover, this is not a small accessory, it wouldn't be myself take it off my car and left it over there. Because of their stealing action, I had to waste my time, gas, and trip to pick up something belongs to me, I don't think I owe them a "thank you"! Brought my car in at 8:00AM Monday morning with a front bumper cover and under-chassis covers falling off the car. Steven explained my options and made a sensible recommendation. He ordered extra parts from Toyota just in case, but when they were not needed he credited me and the total ended up being less than the original estimate. On top of that he took the car right away even though he was booked planning to have it ready the next day. I was delighted to receive a call at 3:00PM the same day telling me the car was ready to go and that one of their guys could pick me up right away. I am very picky about my car. When I had a wreck, this shop was recommended by a mechanic I trust. They did a great job repairing my Subaru BRZ and dealing with the insurance. Repairs were rather extensive--in the $10K range. It has been about 6 months since the repair, and I have not experienced a single problem. They are so particular that before giving my car back to me, the owner of the shop noticed that the clear bra they re-installed on the front of my car had some bubbles. He made the guy come out and redo it because he was not willing to give it back to me in that condition. They were also good about communicating with me throughout the repair process. It is really hard to find a trustworthy body shop. People in this business are notoriously dishonest and generally slimy. I have had extremely negative experiences with some other shops in the past. These guys are a most definite exception to that rule, and I'm very glad I was referred to them. Would definitely recommend for any and all auto body work. read more

Just recently picked my vehicle up from Excel Frame and Collision Center. This is the 4th vehicle I've used Excel for accident (body & paint) repair. As in each of my previous experiences, the company's staff (Steve, Beverly & Marvin) provided outstanding customer service and the work is of the highest quality. In this latest experience, I brought my F-150 Platinum 4x4 truck in with damage to the rear quarter panel. The platinum white paint is difficult to match. Once again, they proved they are the best in the business at their craft. And, they work seamlessly with the insurance companies and others (e.g. rental car cos.) to make sure the experience is as painless as possible for the customer. These guys do great, fast work. I was rear ended a few weeks ago and my car needed $4,000 in repairs. I dropped by the shop and they got me an estimate and dealt with insurance for me so I didn't have to haggle with them. They are polite, but to the point and honest about how the process works. I don't recommend letting idiots run into your car out there on the road, but if they do, Excel Frame will take care of you. My car looks as good as new and the whole repair only took 6 work days. I have used Excel Frame and Body since I moved to Houston about 20 years ago. At the time I worked for an insurance company and they used the body shop for their own claims. I had an issue with my personal car and used the company and was impressed with their work and professionalism. I've had to use Excel Frame and Body several times since my initial claim and have been completely satisfied with their honesty and work. I also always refer others who are looking for a reputable body shop. The owner refuse to use nothing but the best and is quick to point out previous work that is not up to his standards. I purchased a certified Lexus and had another fender bender. When I took it in, he noticed that I had some paint flaking on my rear bumper. He took pains to show and tell me that the car had been wrecked and that the paint job was *not* done by Lexus. He showed me the details that allowed him to make that appraisal. I then contacted the Lexus dealership to tell them that they sold me a certified car that had been wrecked, and they repainted the car with Lexus paint at no cost. I never would have known this had Excel not pointed this out.. He pointed out he refuses to use cheap glass from China as he had problems with them. If you have a small problem and want to pay cash and not file a clam, this shop is *not* the place to go, as his quote will be higher as he only uses the best materials. If you are going to be over your deductible anyway (which the vast majority of claims will be), you definitely should use them. They also are accepted by *every* insurance company I have ever used and deal with them directly, which will save you time. They are honest, direct, timely and do a great job. What else would you want? I recommend them highly. read more

I found this firm after Googling for an Acura-certified body repair shop near the Galleria, Houston. Marvin, the Estimator (and Shop Foreman) looked over the damage to my car & identified what needed to be done very quickly. His estimate seemed reasonable (what needed to be done as well as the price) so I decided to go ahead. I brought the car in next day and Excel Frame's owner, Steve, drove me to the nearby Enterprise so i could pick up a rental car. I had a call from Marvin later that day to say that the price of the parts had gone up - a whopping $4. My Acura was ready when promised the following day and the price was exactly as I had been told. I was able to leave the rental car there for Enterprise to come pick up (very convenient!). I want to add another 5-star review for Excel Frame. My steering wheel was shimming and shaking when I drove, so I thought I needed an alignment. I found out about Excel on a Sunday afternoon, so decided to take my car in the next day. I arrived at 8:00am thinking that it was 'first come, first served', hoping to get in and out quickly so I could get to work. They actually take appointments, but they didn't have anyone that morning, so they were able to get to my car right away. After asking some questions about what the car was doing, one of the guys took it for a spin around the block, then put it up on a lift in the garage when he came back. They brought me into the garage to see what the problem was and showed me that the shaking was happening because the rubber on one of the front tires was pretty much worn off on the inside, which I hadn't seen when I had looked at it. Steven was kind enough to call around to try to find the tires that I needed (which weren't in stock at 3 places) and found someone who could get them that day. The tires were brought over to Excel, put on my car and everything was handled very professionally. As a woman, I have, at times, been taken advantage of with car repair situations (having found that out afterwards), but left Excel feeling very satisfied and well-treated.
