For the last three months my hubby has needed home health care. They have followed the Dr.'s orders and come as often as he prescribed. All the nurses have been very patient and helpful but our favorite was Don, a fine young family man. He has treated Bill with such patience and care. We had to call once for an extra emergency visit and he was here very quickly. Bill has totally recovered so he has been discharged, thanks to the great care he received. If we need them in the future we hope we get Don again. read more

The care team itself provides excellent service, but the schedulers are a serious problem. The schedulers are consistently rude, unprofessional, and do not follow the doctor's recommendations. My grandmother was referred for wound care, and although they came for two consecutive days, they have not returned since going into on two weeks, due to scheduling. When contacting them, the scheduler claims that no one answers the phone or that appointments were missed, but that is simply not true. My family and I are extremely diligent about my grandmother's care and answer every call, including spam, just to ensure nothing is overlooked. They may want to reconsider their role, as customer service does not appear to be her strength. If you are seeking reliable wound care, I would not recommend this company. Inconsistent scheduling can lead to delayed healing or even further complications, and no family should have to deal with that on top of an already stressful situation. read more

I had a bad experience with this company. I have to call 5 times every day just to get service. I asked kaiser to help me. Some employees like Kelly got upset because I contacted her office quite too many times today 8-18-26 a nurse was suppose to be at my house. It is 6:30 and no nurse has called. Had Excell Home Health care Nursing, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy through Kaiser after my heart surgery. Worse experience. Nursing care showed up not knowing I had heart surgery and didn't know what medications I had been prescribed (I had to give them this information) and only show up for one of two prescribed visits. Occupational Therapy just wanted me to buy products during their single visit. In Physical Therapy first visit I was given a handout with 16 exercises (one was one doctors said to not do) took my temperature and blood pressure then left. Next two visits was what I expected but were very limited in hands on PT. Fourth and the last visit didn't happen because when they called me my schedule with other appoints were full. Excell's process for notification of a pending visit is very bad. I would get calls after 9:00 pm telling me they would show up the next day. Excell could not schedule visits in advance. Finally, Excell would send different "contract" employees for each visit. Only once did I see someone more than once. Rated as a 1-star since I couldn't give them zero stars. My recommendation: If Excell Home Health Care is assigned by Kaiser to be your Home Health Care provider ask Kaiser for another agency. read more

My dad got a referral from Kp to get home health to do his wound care. My dad was recently discharged from hospital on 8/18 with open wounds on both his ankle to feet area. We received 6 calls from Francis on 8/21/25 from 8:20am-11:20am informing us that they're still looking for an available nurse to start the home visit. 8/22-8/23 No f/u call at all regarding status. 8/24 they called claiming that the nurse will come on Monday 8/25 but no time confirmed. 8/25 received a call from them saying that they don't have a nurse. 8/26 received a call from Excell saying that's nurse will come tomorrow. Then a few hours later got another call saying they still "trying" to find a nurse. 8/27- no follow up call received. 8/28- call received saying they're still looking for a nurse to start home care 8/29- call received saying no nurse available. This is when they finally being honest that they are short staffed. That's when I told them that this is not acceptable. If they're short staffed, they shouldn't have taken the order so that we're could get a different home health company to start wound care for my dad because now he's been without care for 2 weeks. I asked to speak with the manager. 8/30 - 8/31: no other follow up. 9/2-received a call from manager claiming that she will look into it and call back. Now 9/12-no follow up call received from manager or anyone from company. Everyone, pls pls if you get this company as a referral, please change it. Like the others have stated, this company has issues. I shared this with the referring doctor and hopefully they stop referring patients to them. This company didn't not provide "Excel" care. I just want to drop in a note regarding the exceptional provided by my primary nurse Adelyn. She made the healing process not only bearable but also enjoyable under she is extremely efficient, generously caring and has a Beautiful personality. This is our first experience with any kind of home care and we didn't know what to expect. We are so grateful and thankful to Excel for their wonderful professionalism, knowledge and compassionate care. They exceeded our expectations. We have had 3 home visits so far. Our nurses, Donna and Mark, were both exceptional. They treated the wounds of my deaf and demented father with kind, efficient expertise. They were respectful, knowledgeable and both assisted my mom and me with very helpful suggestions and advice on how to continue caring for my dad. They put in orders for some special wound care meds and for both a Speech Therapist and a Physical Therapist to visit. Yesterday our PT, Hanson came by and he too was wonderful. He really helped my dad feel better and he was kind, compassionate and very knowledgeable. He gave us some excellent suggestions on some home equipment that will not only help my dad, but will also make our lives as caretakers easier. We are expecting several more nurse visits and PT visits and we feel comfortable and confident that my dad is receiving excellent care and that we, as caretakers, are benefitting as well. We will need to email our Kaiser doctor to nudge them along on their side for an approval for the Speech Therapist and the wound meds. We asked about them at our 2nd nurse visit and were told that Excel had put in both orders but was still waiting on doctor approval. But so far, we have had an overall exceptional experience with Excel Home Care. We greatly appreciate all their health care workers and look forward to the next visit. read more

We have an OT and PT coming to my mom's home for her care after she had fractured her neck. We love Leo her PT. He is very friendly and talks to my mom with respect. He has helped her so much. Her OT, Michelle Yao Dela Cruz, peed on my mom's bathroom floor and did not tell us. My mom has hardwood floors and it is now seeped into the wood and we cannot get the urine smell out. If your OT is Michelle Yao Dela Cruz, you need to check your bathroom floor. read more

I have had a nurse, Karen, who come Tuesdays to Saturday. I currently have a Pilonidal cyst on my back side. She comes to clean it and has been the most gentle nurse I've ever had. She listens to me and understands my concerns. It's painful so she is very careful when cleaning and applying all medicine and bandage. She also has an awesome sense of humor. I'm 70 and am a bit over the edge but she gets me very well. I'm very lucky to have her helping me. She has brought trainees to train and she explains every step throughly. Had a simple home health order for wound care. A nurse named Frederick or Freder Pedernal was expected to come to our home in Torrance on 4th of July between 1130 and 1230. We waited and waited and called by 1:00pm when nobody showed up- no answer. we received NOTHING, not one call, not one text! it was so sad! sometimes I guess when you want to finish your assignment and go home early on a holiday you just walk up to a door, tag it with a sign, and drive off. Had the pleasure of meeting nurse Emily last Friday when she came into our home to assist my mom with her cancer wound. It is rare to see medical professionals go the extra mile. It truly seems that nurse Emily really cares about her patients and is so compassionate and personable! She really educated me on a lot of things that other nurses just rush through. She asked if we had any questions or concerns. Unfortunately, I missed a visit due to me missing a call. I have a diabetic foot ulcer that needs daily dressing change, and they couldn't leave a vmail to call them back? I feel like I don't matter. They call 5 to 6 times to say no one was available yet. Then, a nurse called to ask if it was ok to stop by around 845pm to 9 pm. Time passed 1020. I' ve had two surgeries in 2025. After the first one excell was contracted through Kaiser to come to my house for home health care. This first experience was okay. After my second surgery is when they completely dropped the ball. I was again referred for physical therapy and after two weeks no one had shown up. Calls to the business weren't returned. I had to contact Kaiser and request that they reorder home heath care nursing to monitor my dressings and 37 staples utilized to close the surgical site. Five days after discharge from the hospital a nurse came to my house. Five days later a nurse came again. I told both nurses that I hadn't heard from anyone from physical therapy. Finally two weeks after my second surgery someone came out for physical therapy. We let him know how disappointed we were in his company and he, even though he told us he was just there to evaluate what services I needed, I believe felt embarrassed and put me through the paces of physical therapy for about 15 minutes. Once he walked out our front we have again not heard from physical therapy for this being the fifth full day. read more

They are so disorganized. They call multiple times a day and don't schedule appointments ahead of time. They will call and ask if they can come in 15 minutes instead of making appointments ahead of time. I had asked them a few times to please not call me over and over if I don't answer and instead to please leave a vm so I can call them back. They continued to call me 3 times in a row 3 times a day and would call my husbands phone too. They honestly caused more stress than they were helpful to my recovery. The pt sessions I had with Adriana were good. She was super nice and worked with me and was understanding of me having a newborn. The main issue was the main office calling 6-9 times a day after I asked them not to while I was healing from surgery and taking care of a newborn. They sent someone to "evaluate" me for discharge. They didn't check my ability to do anything through movement. Just asked about medication and asked if they could just discharge me. I expressed to them I still can barely walk. But I had a doc appointment the next day so I said okay so I can receive care elsewhere. read more

I am receiving nursing and physical therapy services from Excell after a back surgery. The days after surgery were not pleasant and I was not sure of the recovery process. The cloud started to lift with the PT services of Monique Liggins. She is professional, personable, and thorough in explaining what to expect as I recover. I am familiar with the health care field, and was an observer the times my mother required physical therapy after various surgeries. Monique's education and skills became apparent as she guided me through the process, and I feel hopeful. Another comment about Monique's professionalism: She always gives me a call the night before to confirm our appointment, and arrives punctually. We laid out a schedule of upcoming appointments, and although that may not be important to other people, it is to me; Monique makes me feel that my time is just as important as hers. This surgery has been as much a psychological journey as a physical one, so her every act of kindness has given me hope towards recovery. read more

My dad had surgery and was assigned Excell Home Care after discharge from Kaiser for daily wound care/dressing change. They were scheduled to start services on a Friday and the screening nurse who did the initial assessment was great. Scheduling is wonky - the visiting nurse calls the night before to notify patients of the appointment window the next day. Supplies - we didn't get any until days after we revoked service. Nurses are nice but care provided is not always the best. For my dad specifically, he had someone new most days because he started service on a Friday and weekend nurses were different - which is fine. However, weekend coverage is spotty and it was extremely difficult to get ahold of someone to determine who was visiting on Sunday. By 9pm Saturday night, we still did not get a call about a Sunday visit. I called the on-call nurse who stated she was working on finding coverage but we should get a call by 7am Sunday. By 8am, there was no call so I called back. The nurse who answered was still sleeping and answered with a groggy, "Hello?" I explained why I was calling and she said she was still looking for a nurse to accept the shift and she was going to call me when she gets an answer. I asked when. She said in about an hour. I called back in an hour after not receiving a call and again, she stated she was trying to locate a nurse to accept the shift, stating they didn't have staff on weekends. I explained they knew my dad needed DAILY wound care/dressing change and if they did not have the staff to take care of his medical needs, they should not have accepted the assignment and had let another agency accept the referral. She apologized and said she is working on it and will "hopefully" hear back from a nurse in about an hour. I told her I needed to know by 10am if she was going to have someone because if not, I needed to take my dad back to KP to have his wound attended to. I did get a call 30 minutes later and a nurse was confirmed to visit but no window given. 5 minutes later, the office did call back and said the nurse was going to visit between 2-4pm - which the nurse did. My dad had a F/U appointment with his KP surgical team due to wound concerns the following Monday and the PA who attended to him said the HH nurse who visited that AM did not pack his wound properly. So in his best interest, we decided to stop service with Excell and request services directly with KP Home Health. I would not recommend Excell HH... especially if you do not feel comfortable advocating for yourself or have someone to do so on your behalf. I cannot attest to their PT/OT services but for wound care, I would not use them again. read more

I have to say I'm very disappointed in Excell Home Health. They have done nothing but make phone calls but haven't been able to tell me who is coming, when they're coming or what they're going to do. Finally Maria called at 7:45 a.m. to tell me she'd be here between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00p.m. when she showed for "evaluation" she did not evaluate anything. She had me sign paperwork about the questions and form that was 1/2 filled out. She did not see my husband walk, get out of chair, make any agility/balance exercises, did not take his blood pressure, etc. What kind of evaluation was that? All other PT service companies always do much more.. This is very disturbing. She was however able to tell us that we only get 4 actual sessions. She was gone in 15 minutes. Review 5/19/20 Somewhere over the years, something happened with this company and they are no longer the 5 star operation they once were. Excell is completely unorganized and slow to follow up. Often patient needs are missed, putting their health in jeopardy. When pressed for a response or rationale on a decision they are unable to give one. The neglect of nurse to case manager reporting nearly cost my loved one their life! We received nursing, bathing, and therapy services. The bath aide acted like it was an unusual request to have my loved one brush their teeth, shave, and scrub hands/nails during this scheduled time. If you want the bare minimum, then all was ok. Face was left scraggly with patches of hair. Nails never cleaned even though I had all the proper tools. And it took two weeks to start assisting with brushing teeth (because apparently that's a difficult thing to implement?). Nursing visits were all over the board. We finally got in a routine with one LVN and things were pretty good. But we had so many scheduling issues that the supervisor had to get involved. Supervisor/ RN nurses wouldn't come when they were scheduled and they would throw off the days of the week of our regular visits, needing other staff to come out and causing more issues with communication and quality of patient care. My loved one developed a sore at one point that was caught early and should have been treated quickly. Unfortunately, it took nursing staff over a month to figure out the right way to take care of this (didn't do proper wound care, didn't apply proper medications and dressings, making the wound worse). The wound treatment varied from nurse to nurse even though a supervisor had given clear directions that worked. Random visiting nurses decided to do what they wanted, only prolonging the healing. There were many other issues, like when my loved one need an IV. Problems with the IV arose over the weekend and no one came out. I waited all day for a response and I ended up having to remove it myself. Physical therapy was also subpar. We had some stellar people coming initially but that changed. I was really disappointed at how lazy many of the therapists were. The head of PT was not able to clearly assess the patient nor make appropriate goals. I'll equate it to a test and knowing all the answers upfront and taking the easy way out instead of doing your absolute best. PT wasn't properly evaluating and making goals that challenged the patient to help them get stronger. It's definitely a cut and paste method to make themselves look good. In fact, I'll take a wager to bet that they're doing things this way because this physical therapy supervisor has only been at Excell for a few months and doesn't want to rock the boat with red tape or paperwork vs advocating for patients needs. I tried to communicate to supervisory staff multiple times about the issues and open up a dialogue so that everyone was on the same page. Initially I thought that they were trying to make it right but in the end it was just a game because nothing ever got better. I will wrap up my review with this anecdote: My loved one could have died because of Excell's failure to properly evaluate and take action. My loved one seemed a bit dehydrated and I mentioned the changes to nursing staff and suggested an IV. That was ignored and a week or so later, my loved one did not want to eat or drink any more. Instead of taking appropriate measures by consulting with the doctor or my request to again have fluids (or even suggesting going to the emergency room), I got a follow up from the doctors office asking me about hospice. Excell didn't do anything to help and they turned around and went to the doctor and requested hospice. The doctor was surprised and that's why they called me. I had to request myself from the doctor for IV fluids. It was as simple as that, everything turned around. I should have called the doctor sooner myself, because Excell being involved only muddled the process. I trusted them to be doing a thorough job and they failed over and over. Can you imagine if I had followed this poor advice and the suggestions from the nurses/staff at Excel? My loved one would be dead! Not everyone has a patient advocate or can speak up for themselves - knowing this, would you trust your loved one in the hands of Excell? Updated 5/18/20 So, I'm going to reply here to the response from Edwin at Excell. That statement is 100% a lie. My review makes it pretty clear who is responsible. Someone from Excell was supposed to follow up with me immediately yet I have not heard from anyone. When I terminated services, the COO (Lei) could not answer any of my questions (including my questions about who to report them to and who their governing agencies are) which I'm sure she knows as someone in her position should. She instead said I would get a phone call to follow up. Still waiting on that! read more
