Company refuses to take my calls for service after I spent $7500 for a new AC unit last year. The primary drain line in the attic was clogged. causing water to leack into the back up drain pan below the unit. The drain pan was not installed level, causing water to drip out and causing staing in my ceiling. The Condensate Overflow Safe-T-Switch failed to shut off the system. The primary PVC drain line wasn't installed to the correct PVC outlet. It goes out above a window on the second floor. It needs to be switched with the emergency pan PVC outlet that drains to the lower level of the house. I tried calling several times today. They must have my number blocked. read more

Vardan the owner came out for a service call he said the compressor needed to be replaced but since the unit was so old it should just be replaced. He said he would contact me with the price. I never heard from him. I called the next day and he acted like he didnt know me. I'm a senior citizen in 108 degrees temperatures in Las Vegas and he just left me hanging. Vardan came to my house and caused leak in my attic. He was sent through my home warranty company, a "quick fix," is now costing me over 10K out of pocket. I see so many reviews with the same complaint! This company MUST be stopped this is ABSURD! Literally 20 minutes after he left a leak started, I called him back and he wouldn't come back until Monday to "check it out" by than my paint was off the walls. Don't even want to give a 1 star. They are a rip off company with American home shield sent them to our house, the technician Carlos was great, gave us a report just stating that our leaking water heater has a warranty and just needs to be swapped for a new one but due to the water damage on where the water heater sat we needed to get a temporary stand which we did specifically for a water heater. He sent us the report which recieved stating that, but excellence sent a report to our AHS warranty company stating that we need permit and modifications totaling up to $1 080. AHS will mpt cover that due to that false report even though it states they cover water heaters. I called and spoke to "G" and he told me that he could not forward me the report that states we needed modifications and permit as the tech said, yet, we have that report straight from the tech saying nothing about that. I asked him to send it to me, he said he couldn't and then i aaked to speak to a supervisor and he hung up on me when I asked his name. My husband tried calling and he hung up on him as well. The fan on one of two split system Comfortmaker AC stopped working, it's 26 years old and I had the fan replaced about 15 years ago. Having a good idea what could be wrong, ie bad fan/condenser capacitors and or fan motor, I contacted Vardan at Excellence Air. Once I explained the situation telling him the possibility of bad caps and or fan motor, he was able provide a reasonable price quote, including new oem fan motor part and labor, and set up an appointment the following morning between 9-10am. The condenser unit that needed repairs is the upstairs AC while the 2nd Comfortmaker unit AC is for the one downstairs which continue to work with the same original caps and fan which is pretty impressive. They are both original to when my house was constructed by KBhomes 26 years ago. Vardan was amazing, he immediately pulled and tested the capacitors, the leaking fan capacitor was obviously bad while the condenser cap was testing decreased voltage. Once he replaced both caps, the fan motor failed to turn on and he proceeded to replace the fan motor. I like the fact that he came prepared and had available OEM parts with him and that he did this in steps to make sure he is confirming bad parts instead of just replacing them which could possibly increase the cost and labor. After roughly an hour, he got my 26 year old Comfortmaker AC working and it continues to work today, more than a week later and I have no doubt Vardan's repair will last until the time we call him back to replace the entire HVAC system this coming winter or spring. His quote was on target and only increasing slightly to cover both capacitor parts. read more

So it's summer in Vegas and here we go again, AC compressor blew up...again! AHS covered our whole replacement and Excellence Air was the contractor of choice. Vardan, who is the owner of the company spoke with me about the replacement and gave us some great info and options. He assured us that as soon as they receive the brand new AC unit, he will schedule us in immediately....and he did! The install took almost a whole day and AC is blowing cold...feels good to be good for hopefully 20+ years ;) From our experience, communication was the key and Excellence Air was on top of it. I give them 10 out of 10 with our install, not sure if you could ask for more then that. We have another AC unit and when that goes and Excellence gets assigned, we will know we are in great hands. Vardan did a great job explaining the process and specifically the work to be completed and provided several options to me to fix my A/C issue. The worst company ever. I would never use them to repair anything. They try to get money out of you so they can clean your outdoor air conditioning unit, two hundred dollars per unit and only after you pay them for the cleaning, will they diagnose the problem. In my case, they diagnosed the problem incorrectly, and I had to get another air conditioning company to repair my air conditioner. The other company said the refrigerant was low because there was a leak. They also said there was no need to clean any coils. read more

Home warranty sent out this AC repair company. Service tech states that the system froze due to thick expensive filters and system needed cleaning and service. He said use cheaper filters and get it cleaned. I said great you're here let's do it now. He then stated his company doesn't do that. I looked here on yelp and it says they do and I called the office and they said they do. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this company! I went through American Homeshield Warranty and they set me up with Excellence Air. I'm sure glad they did and needless to say there's a reason they trust this company. They're professional, reliable, friendly, and honest. Vardan the owner of the company came out to my home twice. I immediately trusted him the first time he diagnosed the issue. My lack of knowledge in regards to AC units could've easily cost me but he took the time to explain everything to me regarding the trouble with my AC unit and his plan to fix it. Already nervous about the potential expensive costs, he told me that his aim to resolve the issue was to start at the lowest and most common issue, and that if the problem persisted he would return to further diagnose the issue. He took the time to be personal and honest which, isn't very common these days with a lot of companies. It was comforting for me to not have to worry about being scammed or milked for money so to speak. I also have to give a shout-out to Ashley. This is my second review of Excllence Air: I know nothing about AC units so I need to be able to trust the AC tech. I called Vardan to do his annual pre- summer AC inspection. I was prepared to purchase a new unit if Vardan said that the existing unit was ready to die but he did the diagnostics and told me that the AC should last another summer. He could've easily told me that it is time for a new one but in his words- he said he is not a salesman. What an honest and trustworthy guy. He is not only the tech but the owner of the company. Vardan is a super nice guy and definitely gets the job done! My only honest complaint is he could work on his customer service skills so don't expect much other than the final outcome. I do get customer service isn't for everyone but that's when you need figure out how to hire someone else to do it for you.... He did warn me that my home owners insurance was going to put me through hell from his experience but over these last 10 days he didn't do anything to go above and beyond and prove to me that he still had "excellent" customer service. I had to call every day for updates although he did call first thing yesterday to tell me the parts were finally in stock but he didn't even explain that he was fully booked just said - so I'll see you tomorrow between 11a-3p and here is the best part..3:30p came and he still had not arrived so I called him and was told he'd arrive at 4p so I waited and finally he arrived around 4:30p! I get it, I'm not your only customer you probably have 20 a day, you also gotta eat and sleep, you're probably drained I've been there - but this is where you having an assistant or even a software to just update me comes in handy! With me waiting since 11a without any form of update and remember, I've been sitting in a 100 degree house for 10 days straight plus my dogs are brachycephalic aka they became twice the work so a little customer service would have made the situation feel a little better and earn you some more stars! Our AC unit stopped working a few months back. We contacted our home warranty company, and they sent over Excellence Air to inspect and repair the issue. At the time, after seeing multiple 5 STAR reviews, we felt confident Excellence Air was the best choice. Especially since the other options had either 1, 2, or 3 Star ratings. Our initial visit from Excellence Air was positive. Vardan (owner/technician) visited the unit and stated the AC unit needs to be replaced; However, as a "temporary" fix, he replaced the condenser. Fast forward to earlier this month, we experienced water dripping from our air handler. We contacted our home warranty company and requested Excellence Air since we had such a positive experience our first time around. At the time, we felt like he was honest and in the business for the interest of the client. We were wrong.... On the day of the recent visit, Vardan arrived to the location and briefly examined the unit. After spending few minutes examining the air handler, Vardan confirmed again the AC unit needs to be replaced as there was significant leakage from the drain plan. When I asked if he can submit a report to the home warranty stating the AC unit needs to be replaced, he refused and stated Excellence Air does not replace AC units with home warranty companies. In order to temporarily fix the issue, Vardan stated he will submit a claim with the home warranty company in order to replace the drain pan. Vardan assured me, with confidence, the home warranty will approve the repairs. In order to avoid delays and trusting his response, that Excellence Air does not replace AC units with home warranties, we agreed to move forward. We did not hear from Vardan for few days after the recent visit. Fast forward several days, I receive a surprise email from my home warranty company requesting $750.00 because Vardan informed them that they need to replace the drain pan and do pipe modification, which is not covered by warranty. I contacted Vardan clarify the situation and understand why I'm being charged, but instead I felt like I was being scammed. Vardan reported the home warranty is not covering the repair and that we're responsible for the cost of an estimated $750.00. I explained to Vardan that it doesn't make sense to pay $750.00 for a drain pan out of pocket when he clearly suggested replacing the AC unit multiple times before. All he needed to do was submit the request to the home warranty company, but instead made excuses of reasons why he doesn't replace units with home warranties. At this point, I was upset and frustrated. We truly believe this issue would've been resolved if Excellence Air did the ethical and moral thing by submitting a request for replacement, which they originally stated multiple times before. Vardan informed me they don't benefit from replacing AC units with home warranties. On a business level, I understand where Excellence Air's coming from, it may not benefit them to replace a AC unit because they won't have recurring issues or returning clients (other than maintenance) for at least couple years. Although this may be true, if the client is happy with the service, they're likely to return and refer future cliental. A lot of small business owners fail to understand the power of word of mouth and social media advertising. At this point, it appears there were two options. Option A: Excellence Air follows with their original diagnosis and submits a request for replacement, the home warranty approves it, the company installs it and gets paid OR Option: B: Temporarily fix the issue knowing the unit will break again, but it guarantees the client will experience issues and will return via home warranty. This method guarantees business, but may not be moral, ethical, or best practices! From my experience, it appears Excellence Air operates with a Option B mindset. Vardan informed me that he does not replace AC units with any home warranty companies because it does not benefit him; however, that's not true because there are multiple reviews on yelp stating he replaced AC units via home warranties. Based on the reviews, it appears they pick and choose who's unit they will replace. At this time, our AC unit continues to leak significant amount of water which has resulted into damage to our unit itself and floors. We've not been able to find a reputable and trustworthy company contracted with the home warranty, and that's a shame! We felt like Excellence Air neglected the job and left us hanging. We initially didn't want to leave a negative review, but we felt like it was the appropriate thing to do in order to share our experience so others don't fall into the same "5 STAR REVIEW" trap. We hope Excellence Air can learn from this experience and improve their practices. read more
