My washer suddenly went out of order, a couple of days before I had to leave the country. Needed help fast, and Excellence was able to send a technician the same day. Oleg came on time, quickly diagnosed the problem and offered to fix it for $650. I had received a quote from another company earlier, for $450, but they couldn't do it in time before my departure. It felt quite expensive, but I thought perhaps the job is very difficult and time-consuming. Oleg was finished in 45 minutes! I admire the efficiency, but this raises the question, what exactly did I pay all this money for? I know the part costs about $150 online. Let's say, generously, that it cost them $250. That still leaves $400 for 45mins of work, in which I also had to lend a hand (with unstacking and stacking the dryer; otherwise it would have been an additional $100). I just feel they took advantage of my predicament to overcharge for the job. And yet, they never said the cost was based on some emergency-service rate. It was billed as normal repair. read more

Our dryer's control module decided it was time to retire on us. I called Excellence and was able to schedule a service call for the same day. The Techs quickly diagnosed that the control module was faulty and immediately ordered a new one for us. They also showed me a workaround to use the dryer in the interim. Communication throughout our service interaction was excellent. I received texts regarding when our part would arrive, confirmation of our appointments, and a heads-up when they would arrive. As a safety measure, a photo of the technician is provided via text. On my service day, they arrived right on time, moved quickly through the service, confirmed the repair, and even answered a few questions about my other appliances. I contacted Excellence Appliance Repair via the Yelp quote function to fix my Electrolux dryer. When I contacted the establishment on 1/22/24, I advised that my dryer was making noise as if some types of small rocks or boulders were in the drum when the machine was turned on with or without clothes in the dryer. I was contacted via Yelp DM the same day. To expedite the process, I sent a video of what the dryer was doing via message to the business to show them the problem. Once the video was reviewed, I scheduled an appointment for my dryer the same week. During the appointment, the technician (Dmytro) was able to access the machine, determine the problem, and advise what part was required to fix the machine within less than an hour. When the part was toward the end of the week, Dmytro texted me and set up another return appointment. The installation took less than an hour to complete. The service received from this company was efficient and made me feel at ease. Specifically, because the service was set up somewhat like Uber/Lyft where the client is permitted to see a photo of the technician before they arrive for the appointment. Asked if they had expertise with Scotsman ice machines and they said yes. What that translated to was a very nice workman showing up at my house and talking to someone on the phone about what the machine was doing. Maybe the guy he was talking to was the expert but it was odd...and somewhat awkward. He gave me a diagnosis and they charged me $90 plus tax for the service call, which I thought was reasonable. Then he texted the next day that he wanted to come back and have another look at the machine...odd. The machine was working at the time but he said it needed two parts and he would text me the estimate of parts and labor to fix the machine. More than $1400....I have low confidence that this diagnosis is correct and am calling another company that Scotsman recommends.. They did respond quickly and were very nice but I was not filled with confidence that they knew what they were doing in this case. read more

Samsung Range was burning orange flames. Technician came out and said it is bad gas. Charged $96. Never checked anything on the Range/oven. Stovetop is very clean so that is not the problem.
