I don't really know that I can recommend Abdellah. He just came out to fix an issue with my dryer, which turned out to be an issue with the wiring in our carport instead. He said he could fix it for $235, and I asked that he wait a minute so I could consult my landlord, as I'm not the owner of the property and need to run it by them. When my husband walked out 5 minutes later to tell him we weren't going to move forward with the repair for now because we weren't able to get in contact with the landlord, he had already fixed it. That put us in a weird spot. Telling us to pay what we think the work is worth when we were just going to pay the fee for the assessment feels a little manipulative. Anyway, I'm sure this won't apply in every scenario and clearly Abdellah knows his stuff. I just didn't appreciate this is how our exchange ended. I hope my landlord agrees to cover some of the cost. read more

Kept calling me "sir" until I said I wasn't. Quoted one flat fee after I mentioned what had been previously disgnosed which made me hire him, then upped it by $100 when he said he had to order the part (which I'd already said needed to be replaced, so why was that not part of the original quote?) He asked me to venmo $165 for a deposit so he could buy the part, also unheard of but I did because the total price was still lower than what I'd been quoted elsewhere. The part took a week to get in and when he went to repair the stove he broke the part. Now I have to start finding a repairman all over again and it's been over a week. The good: very responsive and did refund the deposit immediately. You get what you pay for though. read more

When the new parts didn't solve the problem, he offered a full refund plus he reinstalled the parts he'd replaced. I insisted he keep the $75 house call charge. I had asked for someone to install my new garbage disposal that I had already purchased. Ab appliance offered a reasonable flat fee and did that service for me. He cleaned up after he was finished and was very polite and friendly. IN ADDITION, I asked if he would be willing to help me get my broken water softener into my garbage can so that the trash guys would take it. Again, for a reasonable flat fee, he disconnected it, emptied it of the salt and we worked together to slide that thing into my trash can. He wheeled it to the curb for me. I called regarding a repair on my Viking cooktop. The positives are that I received a very prompt response by phone and Abdellah showed up within a very short time on the same day of my call. The bad news is that he did not fix my problem and basically refused to acknowledge that I even had a problem. He seemed very rushed and did not take the time to recreate the issue. He poked and prodded and yanked and pounded on the gas cooktop burner and that's about it. The very next time I tried to use that burner I discovered that indeed the problem still existed and if anything it was even worse than before the service call. I am not an appliance repair person but I am smart enough to know when something is not functioning properly and in fact has a dangerous issue. Gas flames coming out from under a burner where gas should not even be present is a red flag in my book. At some point I decided to cut my losses, give him his check for the service call and get him out before he broke something else that was not broken to begin with. I suspect Abdellah may be very competent for many repairs but I got the feeling he was not at all familiar with my gas cooktop. Abdellah gets at least a couple of stars for answering my call and showing up so quickly! read more
