My Kia Soul's engine suddenly died one morning while driving to work. My car was shaking badly with almost no power and with a strong burnt-oil smell. I panicked because I thought it was the end of the engine and because you all know what a repair bill will be like. I knew that taking the car to my Dealership will double that bill, so a quick Yelp search recommended me Exclusive Auto. I was attended immediately upon arrival, and after a preliminary computer diagnostic test I was asked to leave the car. But just a couple of hours later they called me telling me that my car was ready. They explained the problem to me and told me there was no need to replace any components, the problem was one of the ignition coils causing a bad misfiring due to a contact issue... Now, what happened next only happens when you are around good God's souls. Even though they spend time looking for the problem, fixing it, re-plugin the computer to check for faulty codes and test-driving my car to make sure the problem was gone for good, they told me there was no charge. I insisted to pay something, but they kept their position. "No charge, we did nothing". For them, this might have been a quick fix, but for me, they saved my life.... I now realize these people have a good reputation for a reason, not only because they are knowledgeable, but must importantly, they are Honest. Great neighborhood mechanic! They take the time to explain in detail what work was done and what they recommend for the future. The shop is only a block away from my house, which makes it very convenient. Prices are fair, and they recently completed an oil change on our Lexus. If you are shopping around for a mechanic and you're trying to find someone who is good value for great reliability, I would recommend you call this shop first, and don't bother calling anyone else in the area. 8 times out of 10, Paul and his team have offered me the cheapest price, the fastest turnaround time, and exact reliability for expectations. The two times I did not use them in the past few years, were because I had an emergency and they were closed, and because I needed tires which is like the one service they don't do. Paul and Art are friendly and honest, and often go the extra mile. They'll always explain before they start work what things will cost, prioritizing what needs to be done immediately vs what can be put off for a few months. This has been true, whether the repair job was large or small. This time it was a radiator boiling like a tea kettle in our horrible heatwave. Best call I have ever had with a mechanic. I called for quotes on a bunch of items. The guy DID NOT bullshit me at all. I've done the work on the items requested, so I know what's involved. His labor hours made complete sense and were fair. And their hourly rate was the best rate I could find for our civic. He also patiently spent time with me on the phone and DID NOT rush me off. I took a chance with these guys, because I live half a block away. I've got an older, 94 Bronco with 300K miles on it. Couldn't be happier. Paul was friendly and knows what he's talking about. More importantly, he could have just said "Hey, this is the really expensive problem you have, it'll be 3K", but he went out of his way to see of there was a better, cheaper way to work around it. Been going here for years now with multiple cars. Great mechanics who do excellent, reliable work and always get you the car back on time. I just had two cam sensors replaced and mentioned I had to have the car back for work by noon the next day (I had dropped it off late on the previous day) and he said he'd get it done. He got the OEM parts, installed, test drove, picked me up to get the car and all with a couple hours to spare. Their prices are more than fair and the work is excellent. It's great knowing you can trust a place with your car. Last note, I mentioned my son's car having a transmission issue and he said to look for the Subaru bulletin because they extended the warranty. Sure enough, I checked and he was right. That's going to put a new transmission in my son's car that he thought was no longer covered under warranty. read more

I recently had a car towed here for repair. It was completely dead, something electrical. It turned out to be dirt that was forming a short on the starter. They charged me $60. Very fair. They also recently repaired my Ford powered motorhome. I still have one issue from that repair, but I am generally pleased with the friendly and professional service I have got. I really only leave reviews on Yelp when I get exceptional service. After four years living out of state, it was time to visit a mechanic in the valley again. I used to take my car to Exclusive Auto because I always had amazing service here, and I trust them to get the job done without trying to rip me off. To give an idea of just how great the service is here: I hadn't taken my car here for four years, and the owner actually remembered me. By first name. Quite impressive. The front and rear brakes on my Audi were getting bad. I dropped the car off in the morning. Was really happy to see that all the same mechanics are still working there four years later! Was also surprised to be offered a ride to work free of charge (I had planned to walk). Got a full detail on what needed to be done a few hours later. Turns out my brakes needed a complete overhaul. Paul recommended I only do the rear brakes for now to get the price down, which I did. The price was very fair for what needed to be done however. Plenty of mechanics out there try to' scare' you into getting the most done (for the most money), but Exclusive Auto actually worked with me to prioritize what had to be done now, and what could wait. Once the brakes were done, they came an picked me up at my work (for free) - Outstanding service. I have no idea what could have triggered G.H.'s little outrage, but I've been taking my cars here for years and will continue to do so. I have been driving with some flashing lights on my dash for a month or so and taken it to two other places. On an off chance I stopped by last night and showed them them the dash lights. They took about 5 minutes and had it figured out! I came in first thing this morning and they were fabulous! Gave me a ride to work, called me to confirm that their suspicion from yesterday was correct, told told me exactly what they needed to do and how much. Obviously the recent reviews were written by friends, not real customers. Paul ended up calling my boyfriend the day after the rip-off and he said he would work something out, most likely because when I walked out I threatened to complain to the Better Business Bureau and told him that I was going to write a nasty ("truthful") review on Yelp. So I went back two days later and negotiated a $100 deduction. Honestly, I should have only had to pay around $300 maximum for the work. I still paid $100 more than I should have for installing a REMANUFACTURED ALTERNATOR. And anyone who is getting ripped off, and knows it, is going to raise their voice and demand an explanation. Moreover, when they refused to show me the invoice for the alternator they installed, the rip-off was confirmed. Lastly, please read my other reviews. I was referred by a family member to use Exclusive Auto three years ago and glad I have. Just don't tell too many people, so I can continue to get a appointment. I take 4 cars there currently, including a newer Lexus. If your car is still covered by Factory Warranty, they can do all the service that's not covered and will refer you to get your warranty coverage from the dealer. They are honest and reliable, even telling you, you don't need to have that done, even it is on your list. They will call you if something is found and not perform the work, till you give them the okay. If you're thinking of using Exclusive Auto for the first time, don't hesitate! Paul, Dana, Joe, Rick and everyone else there are great, respectable and honest people. At least give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
