Been going to SAC for many years and was pleased. But since Seto retired, I've brought my cars by twice and told to take them somewhere else. Once said they didn't work on Porsches, despite them working on it before and the second time told they don't work on transmissions, despite the issue turning out to be a non transmission issue. When my check engine light came on, I brought my car in for a diagnostic evaluation, paying for what I hoped would be an accurate assessment. Unfortunately, the initial issue was misdiagnosed as a faulty intake manifold--something I later learned rarely fails or needs repair. Another mechanic later identified the actual issue: the battery, which your team had assured me was fine. After replacing the battery, my car now runs perfectly. This leads me to believe I was misled. I paid nearly $1,500 for unnecessary parts and labor, yet the original problem persisted. Within less than a week of the repair, not only did the check engine light come back on, but a new issue--"Tire Pressure Monitor Inoperative"--appeared, something that wasn't present before. Why do we pay for diagnostic evaluations if the diagnosis isn't accurate? This experience has eroded my trust in your service. I've decided to take my car elsewhere, where I can rely on accurate diagnostics and repairs without constant return visits or wasted money. Seto doesn't work here anymore. New owner. I had my Volvo towed in for loosing coolant but no leaks. They diagnosed it as having an air pocket in the cooling system. They claimed they changed a cooling hose and all was good. I drive it home and driving on the 405 I get the low coolant flashing red light in the dash. I had to tow it home. I've had a smog check done here in the past and it was fast & priced as quoted. That's it, nothing to write a Yelp review about. However, I decided to come back after reading good reviews and it being walking distance in the case I had to leave my car. My cars AC wasn't as consistently cold as I will want it to be this summer, so went in for service... what I really liked, wasn't just the fast service, but one of the mechanics actually showing me something else that would soon be a major problem if I didn't fix. I also really enjoy that the owner responds to negative comments with the truth or their side of the story... vs. the generic responses other companies give of "we appreciate your feedback and are sorry you weren't satisfied" etc etc generic garbage that they really don't care. I have lived in LA for over 15 years and drive all the way from Van Nuys (lots of auto shops here) to Saticoy Auto because I trust them and all of my friends do too. They do a great job at a fair price and never have tried to sell me or any of my friends unnecessary repairs. I wish their shop wasn't a 40 minute bus ride away when I have to leave my car (a Mini Cooper) there but it's worth it. When you find a dentist or a mechanic you 100% trust and they do consistently great work, you stick with them. Took my van there on friday they said it needed spark plugs. Monday rolls around i get the spark plugs changed. They said it was fixed. Very next day try to work and running even worse than before. And my alram on my vehicle does not work anymore. Brought up the alarm and was told to take it to a stereo shop to be fixed, even though it worked before i took it here. Long story short 525 dollars later my van still has a misfire and no power but on top of it my alarm is no longer working. Guess i have to look for another mechanic. Went there multiple times after being referred by film industry. Usually Seto is my go to mechanic.. Nice office staff. When I think auto-repair locally, this place is my first choice. Only downsides are small lot and small waiting room. Oh - and if you need a Star Certified smog place, I don't think they do it. I usually have to go elsewhere since DMV requires my vehicle to use a Star place. read more
