Brought my 2018 Tahoe in for a failed water pump. Had it towed to the shop, and Mark Jr. was accommodating throughout the whole process. Left it at 9AM, they called me at 10:30 AM with a diagnosis and recommendation. By 2:30 PM, the repair was finished and I was able to pick it up by 3 the same day! I took my car into a Tire Shop for a brake job and came out with a multitude of problems. After repeated visits back to the Tire Shop, the problem remained unresolved. The vehicle lost power and the brakes would overheat even on a really short trip. I realized I had to find an independent local mechanic to diagnose the issue, and this is where Mark comes in. On the way to work, I dropped it off with Mark, told him what was wrong and asked him to look at it. I came back to pick it up and he told me it was a bad Master Cylinder, that this car needed a factory part. He charged me half the hourly rate to diagnose, which was very much appreciated. I then took it back to the Tire Shop, told them to replace the after market Cylinder they installed with a Genuine Factory Part, and they agreed to do so. Problem solved. Car runs great, no issue. Came in earlier today to get the fog lights and it's components on car replaced. This was my first time coming to a mechanic by myself and (being a woman) was pretty intimidated by the type of atmosphere it would be. I was greeted by Mark, the owner, and a couple of his staff. They were very kind and got my car in quick. One hour later I come back and I see they did a magnificent job putting the lights in, considering they were after market ones. I was also able to have a nice conversation with a couple of the workers there and not once did I feel uncomfortable or out of place. I had a leaking issue with my 1999 Beetle and took it to Marks because of their great reviews. They did not disappoint! Their mechanics were knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They explained my engine oil leak to me and did not try to upsell me on things my car didn't need. Mark and the other mechanics had my car ready for me that day and for a very reasonable price! They also informed me that one of my wipers was not installed correctly by Valvoline, and fixed it for no charge. I do not know much about cars and as a woman, I find it difficult to find honest shops that don't try to take advantage of you. Needless to say, I will definitely be coming back! read more

I brought my car in yesterday because of a sudden loud scraping noise in my tire. Naturally I thought I needed brakes. After my car was put up on the lift it turned out I had a very small rock lodged in my wheel. This was my first time going to Mark's auto repair and it certainly will not be my last. Not only could Mark have told me I needed brakes but he didn't even charge me for the time and the effort it took to put my car on the lift, remove my wheel and discover and remove the rock. I have a fully restored 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible which was experiencing issues with the fuel system. I was referred to Mark's Auto Repair so I decided to give Mark a call prior to scheduling an appointment to bring the car in for a diagnosis. Mark answered the telephone and asked me numerous questions pertaining to the problem the car was experiencing. During the conversation I thought to myself WOW this guy definitely knows about classic automobiles. I proceeded to schedule the appointment and take the Mustang to Mark. Upon arrival Mark asked me a series of questions relating to the fuel problem. Later in the afternoon Mark called me to explain his findings during the diagnostic process. To my surprise Mark repaired some items not related to the initial problem since they could have caused problems in the future. The total repair cost was lower than I expected! Update: I recently took my Mazda in to Glendale. About two weeks before, the vehicle was serviced for a scheduled maintenance so we were surprised to see the check engine light come on. The tech didn't have time to fully check the vehicle but said he thought it likely was caused by rodents chewing up a wire-something not covered by the warranty. He said it was difficult to easily check on this and that he would need more time; leave the vehicle overnight, job will get done, and just to look would cost $450. I sensed a scam and took the vehicle to Mark's. They actually found the REAL cause of the issue and fixed it in less than 2 hours for FAR less money. GO TO MARK'S AUTO! I've been coming to Mark's for nearly 30 years. The family has gone through many, many cars since then, and we've always trusted Mark for his advice and honesty. From the routine maintenance like brakes, batteries and oil changes, to major engine work, transmission, fuel and electrical issues. Unlike other mechanics, I don't bother questioning Mark's prices - he always lays out in advance and always comes VERY close if not under his estimates. If he thinks he can't compete on a price, he'll recommend you to a local shop who can. If he thinks you don't need something done, he won't recommend or do it! Parking can be a little difficult sometimes because he's on a very active street. I'd recommend calling in advance as he sometimes gets real busy. They have worked on a number of my vehicles and always had everything done on or before the scheduled due date. The owner, Mark, is extremely knowledgeable about all types of cars. There are a few reasons why this is a great shop. Firstly (and most importantly imho) they always have multiple opinions on a particular problem - no matter what. I'll try and keep this short. I went to Pep Boys to get my air compressor evaluated and they charge me $50 to do the test and then told me that I needed to get my air conditioning compressor replaced for $2500. My CRV is only worth about $3500 so obviously that's not a good decision. I went over to Mark's Auto Repair And within one hour he fix my air-conditioning system with a $15 part and then only charged me an hour and a half for labor. Less than $200 later my air conditioning works amazing. He is honest and does a very good job. You can trust him with your car! read more

I took my car here after taking it to a different shop that just changed a bunch of parts for no reason and didn't do anything to help my car. My car was in bad shape. The whole engine was shuttering and I had no accelerating power. I told Mark what the other shop had done and he instantly told me that it was a bigger problem than that. Mark is truly the best mechanic in Los Angeles. In over 30 years of dealing with mechanics I have never encountered such an honest, kind, respectful, knowledgeable mechanic. Last week he worked on my mother's car. She is 82 years old and was complaining that her car was making strange noises and didn't feel right. She had taken her car to at least three other mechanics who are near her and they essentially ripped her off. Long story short, when my mom explained the different noises and issues she was having, Mark immediately had some ideas that proved to be right. He did a thorough diagnostic on her car and found other major issues. One of which was a tire that was two to three months from a potential blowout. None of the other mechanics had identified this major issue! Scares me to think what could have happened to my mom.
