How about since that day I have NEVER seen this place open so I swore the person lied to me until last Saturday. After church it was freezing and I was about to walk home when I saw the lights on. Now I will say that I am not used ordering in a small quaint area- But BABY!! Talk about a hole in the wall hidden gem! This was one of those if you know you know moments and I risked a full $32 on two plates of food to experience pure food ecstasy. No lies just the truth- that catfish, Mac and greens will bring you to know knees in thanksgiving for all who participated in making it including the fisherman. Some slap ya momma good soul food. I would not recommend that you stand inside like I did it's to hot and stuffy but the woman inside was SWEET! There is parking out front and I have no idea what was on the menu. When I walked in the lady said this is what we have and I said I'll take two. No there is no seating area or a bathroom so I took it on home and my son and I we went to town. Everything was seasoned perfectly, the fish was crunchy on the outside soft on the inside. It HIT THE SPOT!

This is 2026, let's start acknowledging the alternatives. Kansas Chicken and Burger is a great…read morealternative. On my visit today, I was able to park in the lot behind the restaurant. It's very convenient and there were several spots open. I walked to the front, entered Kansas Chicken and received the same high quality service as my previous visit. The restaurant is clean, as it should be. I ordered the Heat Seeker combo, mild with less sauce. Accompanied by onion rings and a drink $8.99. This is a great alternative as opposed to that Sailor man that eats spinach. Infact this sandwich is much better. How? 1. It's not greasy. 2. No after taste. 3. Not too crunchy 4. No stomach discomfort after consumption. I think that's enough reasons! The Heat Seeker was assembled perfectly no sliding, dripping, or falling apart. The onion rings were delicious, because of the list provided above. The Chocolate mousse cake was good as well. This alternatives does well for the budget and the server was humble and grateful with superior customer interactions. Pro tip - remember to input your number to receive perks. Area of improvement - Zesty sauce does wonders for onion rings, please add this to your condiments.

Burger is a little on the messy side with all the sauce on it but still pretty tasty. Fries were just okay but they did give a big portion of them. Place was quiet and small. Just 3 small tables for patrons who want to sit inside. Friendly helpful staff.

Some ordered from the brunch menu (me) and others ordered from the dinner menu. The server delivered all the plates (10) at the same time. Which was great because no one was waiting and letting food get cold. Everyone was pleased with their food and beverages. Such a cute place with a full bar, two dining rooms and a small parking lot in the back. Earned 4.5 stars: grits were slightly too salty.

Entering is confusing. They have 2 doors but no sign that specifically says which to use. Of course, the actual entrance is the furthest away. They do have a cute selfish wall upon entering. The place is really small. Seats about 20 people and a bar that seats maybe 5 or so. Looked like they had another side area that was for pickup orders but I didn't inspect or ask. The server (Gary) was nice and helped with all questions we had. We got red velvet waffle and catfish, sweet potato waffle and half chicken. Also got some mac n cheese and drinks..mango iced tea and a coconut lemonade. You got water and fresh hot cornbread while you waited. Food took a while but was clearly freshly made when it came out. Both waffles and drinks were really good. The chicken, catfish and mac were good too, but the proteins had a touch too much salt and the mac lacked that salt. The menu isnt vast but still has you wondering what to tey. Didn't have any alcohol but saw they only serve black owned spirit brands. They're located on a main road and have a few parking spaces around back. Note they add 20% gratuity to any size party. Music was a vibe the entire time. They never got crowded so we weren't rushed. Their business focus is more on catering than dine-in, but they do host an occasional RnBingo I've heard was a fun time. Might check that out and see about other food options.
