Irwin, when he was interested in her food.

This is the closest specialty vet to me. I have used this vet before and was happy with the care my dragon received. The entire staff is professional and knowledgeable. They take the time to explain everything and/ or answer questions about diagnosis, meds, administering them, and what to look for if I have issues. Thorough explanation of care to get my Bearded Dragon back on track.

They have always done SUCH a great job taking care of our exotic babies (bearded dragon and chickens). Everyone there is super nice and well informed. The exam rooms can get kind of stuffy but they give you the option to open or close the door and the last time we went it wasn't so bad! Thats literally the only minor thing we would have to say! Other than that we love taking our pets to people who care!

Everyone is kind and very knowledgeable and accommodating. It's truly appreciated when you have exotic pets and they don't judge. Years ago I took my hedgie in as an emergency patient and Dr Johnson was remarkable and knew exactly how to help treat my girl, despite being diagnosed with cancer. The bills were average despite seeing her as an emergency patient. Above all the ladies that answer the phone always answer the phone with a smile which is very refreshing - kudos to Nicole and Daniella (sp?)

Dr. Walth was already at capacity and was busy but I was referred to VEG for further assistance in my emergency situation with my bird. He took his time and consulted on the case and even consulted over night with the staff. He cared, sincerely and had never met my Ypse, my orange winged, yellow nape hybrid, which was my world. He made her important to him as well. We stayed the night and in the morning brought her to him to "fix" her wing after she was stable. instead she had a heart attack in my hands. He did CPR and tried his best but she was tired. She needed to fly free. I will forever be grateful for his kindness and the compassion he showed us that day. That awful day, he helped me through

Sawyer the tech was awesome! After we inherited this feathered guy I wanted to take care of him the best way possible. They gave him a pedicure and clipped his wings. This bird is a happy camper. Most importantly, I was educated in how to care for his best. Thanks again for your time, compassion and love for these animals.

This has been one of the worst experiences of my life with pets. Office manager did reach out. Told me to drop my guy off and that he would be seen immediately. When I got there receptionist told me that she did not know when he would be seen as he was a drop off (after cutting me off). It's 345pm and I am being asked to pay 1400$ to MAYBE save my frogs life for the damage inflicted by their vet. So I am having to clean up a mess they made. The office manager called me to say we can worry about finances later- like I'll blindly agree to that??? Then she told me I needed to stop out a 75% deposit down. What??? Do you hear yourself. Long story short- they injured my frogs eye and then refused to fix it. I even offered to pay the cost for anesthesia and cultures. and still no. Terrible practice. Edited 11/8- removed the photo of him healthy bc this practice decided to have it as their photo everyone can see. He is not their poster child. Still haven't heard anything. I don't even know if they euthanized him per my wishes or if someone else took him home to nurse back to health.

She even laid an egg for them

I've been here a few times over the past couple years when I have a hen that gets sick. The staff are all very friendly, and they've been great with my birds! They're great at calming down and gently handling stressed animals. This last visit I went in with a sick hen (this hen is my absolute favorite of the flock) who had become lethargic with little interest in food or water. They explained everything clearly, they were happy to answer all of my questions, and they understood that money can be a huge factor for animal owners. When they gave the initial list of tests they *could* run, the numbers were daunting. However, at no point did they try to pressure me into a black hole of expensive testing. They were happy to help me pare down the number of tests/interventions to just the essentials, giving guidance on what was likely to make the biggest impact. They were also happy to teach me the necessary procedures to assist my hen while she got back on her feet. I went home with medications for a bacterial infection in her upper airway, and with some supplies for crop feeding and administering subcutaneous fluids (I'm a healthcare provider so I was already familiar/comfortable with the equipment and general procedures). This morning my hen is happy, eating and drinking, and even spent some time outside digging holes in the garden.

Very clean hospital. The staff and clinicians are very pleasant and gentle. I have a new Uromastyx lizard and wanted to come in to ensure he was healthy as well as get a few tips on keeping him happy. It brings me comfort to know this exotic animal hospital is here to help care for my pet.

Before our planned trip, one of our cats had a blood clot which led him to suddenly need a lot of medications for management and of course we were worried to leave him, but the minute I met Lupe and saw her love for my cats, her attention to detail, and confidence to provide the care and deliver the medications, I was immediately put at ease. She was such a blessing and we had immense peace of mind knowing our babies were in the best hands! Everything down to the app used and communications has been so easy and professional, and I have been overall so impressed with the company. Highly recommended to use this company for your cat sitting needs, especially Lupe!

Our puppy Junie was extremely reactive to other dogs and we felt like she would never get better. We enrolled her in the puppy elementary classes at about 5 months old. Kim and Jamaal were extremely accommodating and helpful throughout all of her behaviors, week after week. After she finished the group classes we did 2 private lessons with Kim and Jamaal and I can't say enough great things about the two of them. Junie is such a different dog from the day we started with Sol Dog and we couldn't be more grateful for Kim and Jamaal. I can't recommend Sol Dog Lodge enough!

There is some confusion about the locations of Sol Dog. When I first signed up to board my dogs, I…read morethought I was dealing with the people from Sol Dog on Prince Road. That statement is 1/2 right. Looks like the Sol Dog on Prince now has a new name and that owner used to be part of Sol Dog but is not anymore. My dogs were boarded in May 2026 for 4 days. All did not go well. I have spoken to Justin and Shelley from Sol Dog and BOTH of them have now said "that's not how we normally do things". When I spoke to Shelley today and told her that they had to say, "that's not normally how we do things", for 3 separate issues her reply made me want to do reviews so other people could see that the service I got was exactly how they normally do things. Issue 1- on our tour of the facility (beautiful facility) we were led to believe that we would be allowed to settle our dogs in their kennel. We were not. Shelley said, "that people are not allowed in the kennel area". When I told her that we were taken into the kennel area on our tour, she said "that's not normally how we do things". Issue 2- We gave written on paper instruction on how to feed our dogs. and put the instructions in their system. Not complicated. One dog gets dry and wet food. The other gets wet food only. The dog that got wet food only was fed dry food. Sol Dog sent me a text on day 2 that they were almost out of dry food. When I called and questioned how they were feeding my dogs, I was told they were feeding them correctly. It wasn't until I sent them an email that they admitted to feeding my dog incorrectly. Guess what I was told??? You guessed it "that's not how we normally do things". Issue 3- Communication. I was told that someone from Sol Dog would communicate with me and let me know how the dogs were doing a couple times a day. The evening I dropped them off I did hear from someone. The next day Nothing. The 3rd day I sent a text at 730am and did not hear back till 330pm. GUESS WHAT? "THATS NOT HOW WE NORMALLY DO THINGS". Some issues I brought up with Justin that I didn't bring up with Shelley. My dog blankets and toys were not dirty, had no dog hair and smelled like I just took them out of my dryer. I had a lot of treats left over and if they were given to the dogs like I was told they would be, there should not have been that much left. Sol Dog left such a bad taste that I told them I would never board with them again. Justin and Shelley both agree that since they were told I would never board with them again that there was not much they could do to fix the issue. I was not told they were sorry. I was not offered any refund, not that I would have taken it. They did have to pay the staff to feed my dogs wrong and not give them their toys, blankets or treats. All in all, I feel like the experience that I had with Sol Dog is EXACTLY HOW THEY NORMALLY DO THINGS.
