Chris (Sales) and Becky (support/scheduling) were great to work with! They were both very responsive and kept me up to date on the timing of each step. The trades were also wonderful and friendly. I was a little concerned about using them because I live on the IL side of the Wisconsin border but it turned out being further north was not an issue for their team. We had great weather so it took just under 4 weeks from ground breaking on 29 Apr to our first swim on 25 May. Most importantly we love the pool! 5 star team all around. read more

We have a existing pool that needed concrete repair. We contracted with Expert Pool builder to repair the concrete and install a pool cover. The contractor Greg only came t9 the property one time and that was to take money! Joe was in charge of concrete. The concrete job is the worst we have ever seen and one of the workers fell into the pool with concrete and it destroyed our liner and had to be drained. They broke the coping on the pool, which they said they would fix with epoxy, left footprints in the concrete and graded the concrete so poorly when it rained the rainwater went into the pool. Also now our pool cover doesn't close properly. They refuse to do anything about it and Greg won't even come out to resolve the situation. This company will take your money and run! I signed a contract with Expert Pool 5/5/2020. Sales rep Joe was very nice and knowledgeable. We agreed to do some of the work ourselves to save money. My husband dug a trench on the side of our home to run the pipes. I also agreed to handle obtaining the Permit. 5/14/2020 The Permit was issued and I contacted Expert pool employee Becky to schedule us in. She said she needed to talk to Greg. Greg never called me back so i contacted him 5/16/2020. Greg said he will put us in for Tuesday after memorial day. We agreed... Friday 5/22/20 i contacted Becky to confirm we were good for 5/26/2020. She responded back saying they needed to push it out due to weather. Ok no problem! Sunday 5/31/2020 I contacted our Sales Rep to confirm what time they were coming out. He did not know but said Becky would call me. Becky never called me... Today I picked up the phone and called Greg the owner, Joe and Becky with no answer. Joe called me back very apologetic and said he will talk to Greg. Becky then text me back saying i was scheduled for 6/11. After the lack of communication i told them that was unacceptable. Greg kindly cancelled my contract. I contacted the Loan company to let them know Expert had cancelled my loan and they told me Expert never charged a deposit. The loan company has a non refundable fee for originating the loan. They charged me $500.00 but will refund $250.00 I called Greg to discuss the additional $250.00 since he cancelled my contract. I also had $800 in permit fees that were paid to the village not to mention the 12 FT trench my husband dug; He agreed to refund me the $250.00 but in return he did not want me to "bash him" on line. When i told him how much time we wasted working with his company only for him to cancel our contract, his response was "i dont want your business" "i don't need your business." That's when the green light hit. I purchased one of his least expensive pools. The sale was not a priority to him. He continues to threatened me with his attorney. His last words where i will see you in court. All in all i will take my losses.. I told him even if he gave me the $250.00 i would still let people know my experience with his company. Sales Rep Joe was helpful but clearly has no say on what happens after you sign the contract. I understand these are hard time for everyone trying to stay in business and home owners making these type of expenses but communication is key and Expert did not meet the minimum requirements to work with me. I have very mixed feelings about Expert Pool Builders. I signed a contract in September of 2019 with Greg and did not have a pool in the ground until June 18th 2020. That being said my pool was not actually completely finished (heater installed and hooked up) and useable until September 23, 2020. I was expecting to be able to use my pool for the entire summer of 2020 since I had purchased it so far in advance. I am a very reasonable person and I understand that the COVID pandemic occurred during the time that I was supposed to have my pool and that supplies were limited but still I spent months waiting and calling or texting people every day, every week attempting to get things installed and under control. I feel that there is a big breakdown in communication within this company and there are way too many hands in the pot. There is someone who does the excavation, someone who hooks up the bubblers and jets, someone else who runs the pipes, someone else who is the electrician. It is just crazy. Once the pool was finally put into the ground the bubblers and deck jets were missing so they had to come back out to drain the pool, fix it, and then refill the pool. The concrete patio that was put in around the pool is just okay. There is concrete on the fiberglass pool in quite a few spots that my husband is going to have to attempt to scrape off. The automatic cover looks nice and functions properly. Now that the bubblers and deck jets are installed they look very nice. Once the pool was completely done it does look nice and everything seems to be working properly. It was just a very long time coming. I want to say a couple things about some of the employees as well. After I signed the contract Greg dropped me like a hot potato and I never spoke to him again. He actually ended up giving his cell phone to a new employee named Shae. Also, Joe who was supposed to be my project manager never helped me with a thing! In my opinion there are a few people that work for this company that saved me from completely hating them and cancelling my contract altogether. Shae and Becky are awesome! They got stuff done! They listened to me and actually fixed problems!!! Mark the electrician was nice and helpful and got things done when needed. Israel and his entire crew from Azul Pools saved my pool from ruin! They corrected all the issues, got it up and running, and educated me and my husband on how to use it. If it had not been for this select group of people I would be a very dissatisfied customer right now. They should all get raises!! All in all like I said...mixed feelings. I am just happy that all of it is over and the pool is completed. I was told by many people who came out to work on the pool that my situation was a rarity for this company and that most people have no issues at all...I hope that is true. I believe this year has overwhelmed everyone and every company in some way or another. Unfortunately this is the year I needed a pool and a house built. I did not have the best experience but my pool is finished and it is beautiful. Hopefully if you decide to have a pool done by this company it is next year and hopefully things will go smoother for you. Thank you so much to the employees that helped me. Last year I used Greg and his company to build what I thought would be a dream come true pool. Instead it turned into an absolute nightmare. From not pulling permits on time, to almost blowing up my home due to not informing me the gas was turned off, to having a leaking water filter pump that wasn't repaired for over 2 1/2 months, to cracking my drive way when unloading their heavy equipment, to having a slime green pool for 3 weeks before anyone came out to start it up, to actually telling me because I didn't want very very exspensive fancy landscaping my pool went from and I quote him...."A Cadillac to a Chevy", to then charging me $1000 extra just to take the dirt from my yard to the back portion of my lot. From the very beginning I told him I didn't want fancy landscaping but he refused to listen to me. I had to wait months for the pool cover to be installed and then it didn't work properly. Oh and the pool sweep which was included in his bid...that worked for about a week and then it broke. He took it back and was suppose to replace it but he never did. I could go on and on but we will now be going to court to settle more MAJOR issues. My recommendation....RUN FROM THIS GUY!!!! read more
