Wouldn't recommend for inground pool, they didn't install properly. Wanted inground pool got semi inground. Told me need a retaining wall when after excavation instead of the planning process. read more

First off let me say that because of the circumstance of the pandemic. I jumped on ordering my pool linner from American Sale and getting insulation numbers from them as soon as my linner came in. They called me back right away even though I was really early. They kept in contact with me via text and we set up the appointment date and time. Of course everything is weather permitted because it's early spring. The appointment day was a very light rainy day. They where at another insulation of a pool not to far from my home. They couldn't go any further with the insulation and came to my house early. The rain was a bigger hinder on the whole pool insulation than it was for a linner replacement. All I can say They did a fantastic job had enough guts to get the job done fast and right. We had absolutely no issues with the pool linner insulation all summer on my pool. Thanks for everything. I would definitely recommend them. The price of the insulation was great in price for me. read more

I went to look at there property in Crete. They bought it at the end of Jan 2022 for $142,000. A month later, they put the property on the market for $300,000. The work inside was poorly done, cheapest material they could find. Doors scrape the floor when opening it. The floors throughout the whole house wasn't leveled, so all that cheap flooring is going to have to be torned off the sub floor and redone. Also, the driveway has holes in it,, be careful so you don't blow a tire and also wear rubber boots because it was muddy also.. Very disappointed with there work and others must be also. Just today, I noticed that they dropped the price to $280,000, still not worth it. They should drop it to $250,000 and hope someone will buy it. read more

This is LOOONG overdue! I personally had a GREAT experience with Steve and his company. And they were at my home for more than just the usual pool install! He STILL comes here -- just today I had an issue with my pump making a noise. He came over. Then proceeded to look around and notice a couple things that needed his attention -- AFTER THE JOB IS COMPLETE! I even asked him to help me with my pool closure since our pool is so unique; the last thing I wanna do is mess it up. We had hiccups during the job, and he always ALWAYS figured out how to fix them to make me happy. He did the legwork of contacting American Sale, my salesman, etc., all to make sure this project went well. I have nothing but good things to say about him, Steve Sr., Barb and the whole crew. They have all been terrific and accommodating. Granted things took a bit to get scheduled, but I do understand that there are variables in scheduling any kind of landscape (WEATHER!, jobs taking longer than normal, things come up that may need fixing, etc.). I just moved into my home and one thing I have learned is that nothing gets completed in the timeframe it is supposed to.... that is just how it goes. Horrible Horrible!! The women Barb who sets up the appointments is the most rude, ignorant person I've ever dealt with! She doesn't respond to text, and if she responds she has a million excuses of why she couldn't, the latest one is she didn't have wi-fi. I took off work 3 times for them to come out and give me a pool install quote. And they never showed up. Barb would always give some excuse. Needless to say I went with another company. She needs to be fired ASAP!!! read more

Very happy with Steve and his team. Punctual, efficient and effective. Also very easy to talk with and personable. Steve answered texts right away and came up with appropriate game plans to solve problems. For example, calling the warehouse and getting them to hand deliver missing parts. We also ran into a major problem with a liner leak. Something you never want to deal with when first installing. Steve jumped on to get resolved. Great experience! read more

Steve and his gang installed our swimming pool 4 summers ago and still he continues to reply to my texts with questions right away. I remember Steve being a total perfectionist and he was laughing and having fun with his crew. Today, in a moment of desperation I texted him yet again because I needed help changing my filter cartridge. Again, he responded right away and told me to FaceTime him so that he could walk me through everything I needed to do. I have to agree with Mary. Called and set up appointment to get advice and options on an existing pool. Told that it would be $50 fee. Set up appointment. They never showed. They never called. I suppose the $15,000 estimate I received from another company is $15,000 worth of business they didn't need. If you want to take a day off of work for nobody to show or at least call, go right ahead. America Sales in Romeoville gave me their contact information. read more

I would highly not recommend this company. Barb the woman whom makes the appointments should not be working with any customer. She is rude and does not know how to treat a customer. She gives you an appointment to get your pool installed. Then when you reach out to her to confirm the appointment. She WILL NOT return your calls or text. Then when you do hear back from her it is well we have a lot of pools to install and people are out sick so with that she cant install your pool. Then she will tell you they work in rain or sunshine but yet earlier she said that do to the rain we have been getting they are behind.If you dont have they man power to work on pools then dont make appointments with a customer. I have heard nothing but good things about how there work is. But I do have to say their customer service is the worst I have ever had to deal with. And with that being said that is why we went with another installer. read more

Extremely POOR quality of work. No communication. Never on time, and no courtesy calls either. DIDN'T install the pool properly. DIDN'T dig to the proper depth, the hole was far too large and jagged. DIDN'T compact the sand, the pool bottom is full of bumps and pits. Plumbing for the pump and skimmer is crooked and leaks. Had to pay to have it redone properly by a professional! Liner has wrinkles. PVC primer everywhere. Sloppy, unskilled, incompetent, and clearly inexperienced at installing pools. No common courtesy or respect for the homeowners, property, or project. Of the 3 people involved in organizing the installation, no one knew what the others were doing or saying. Left nuts, bolts, cigarette butts and other garbage around the pool. Didn't clean up after themselves. Threw away parts that were needed. They ordered way to much sand. Spent more time on smoke breaks and on the phone, than actually working. Maybe if they actually paid attention to the job, it would have been done correctly. They're amateurs who don't have a clue what they're doing, and I'm being generous. We're still waiting for a refund on services we paid for a DIDN'T receive! Sad we paid for subpar work through American Sale, and they're aware of it but continue to use them. S&S Construction Concepts installed our 24' above-ground swimming pool for us this past week. Steve and his crew did an excellent job, especially considering the massive slope and elevation changes in our backyard. We've had a lot of unexpected rain (for the end of June) which forced a delay from our original install date - but we were thrilled that they were able to get us installed less than a week later! Everyone on his team worked hard and efficiently, and were extremely pleasant. Steve answered so many of our pool newbie questions, and his workers gave my husband some suggestions on how to install some accessory items that we purchased. Yes, our yard was a mess afterwards - but that is expected with any excavation project, especially one as big as a pool installation (and the previous week's worth of rain sure didn't help). Steve warned us prior to starting that the Bobcat will tear up the yard (especially considering how wet it still was), but he did his best to minimize the damage by staying in the same tracks. I would definitely look to hire S&S again and will consider them in the future if we decide to have a deck installed. read more
