My original appointment was pushed out over a week, and the technician who was sent out was deaf (two hearing aids) and had difficulty communicating verbally. This service provider was a very poor communicator regarding my service needs as I had to make contact with them to learn about status of my repair after weeks of waiting. One issue was they rarely answered the phone directly and I always had to leave messages which was rarely answered in a timely fashion, sometime after a couple days. Simply put, I believe that they overstated the parts needed (new tub and left hinge) to make the repair, increasing the amount of the service claim to my Home Warranty Company. This became clear when I contacted and explained the problem to the manufacture who said that a NEW TUB was not required to replace the LEFT HINGE on my fairly new top of the line Kitchen Aid dishwasher. It was stated that only the left hinge should required for the repair with less than one hour of labor to remove the old hinge and install the new one. In fact the customer service person gave me the part number required for the left hinge on my dishwasher, a $68.98 part. The main problem this service provider created for me was that their claim for the parts and services they presented to the Home Warranty Company was denied. They said that the dishwasher hinge was broken due to damage created when the tub was damaged and door sagged. Not True!! The end result is, (1) I paid the service provider a $65.00 service fee with no positive result, (2) I am now stuck with a broken hinge on my dishwasher. I'm awaiting the determination on my denial appeal to the Home Warranty Company, if unsuccessful, I will simply replace the hinge myself. DO NOT USE THIS CO. First - the gal who answers is THE MOST RUDE individual I've come across in a long while. Second - the lack of communication speaks volumes. We've been waiting for weeks for the part needed to repair a simple microwave when we were told it would arrive last Friday (today is the following week Thursday). Then we're told by the most rude gal the tech is on vacay & they can repair it NEXT WED. She justifies this by stating "our techs are in McCall, Vale, OR so we're doing the best we can when Justin returns". I asked why we have to wait longer because the tech is on vacay & she just becomes more rude. I'm not understanding why it's taken 1 mo for this to happen but to be treated so poorly in the process is simply NOT OK. My opinion - GO ELSEWHERE. Beware! This is the hardest company to work with. Unfortunately, they are one of two authorized Whirlpool repair companies in Boise. My microwave/wall oven combo was acting up. And gave an error code saying it was the magnetron In the microwave. They decided to fix the control panel instead as they had replaced this part before multiple times under warranty and it never seemed to work. After replacing the control panel nothing was fixed so they decided to listen to the error code and replace the magnetron. During the repair the mechanic accidentally dropped his pliers and ripped out a wiring harness so now the oven and microwave are both completely inoperable. The wiring harness is back ordered and they can't give me a date when they'll get one but other appliances companies told me the part is no longer being manufactured so my oven is likely garbage. To get any answers from this company you have to call multiple times as there is no follow up. In addition to that after 3 months of no oven they have had 2 separate family emergencies where they shut down the whole company for what seems like weeks. I ended up just purchasing a new unit elsewhere and now I have a broken oven sitting In my garage since they are closed for another family emergency currently. they asked for me to keep it so they can take the parts off in order to not charge me for the work they had done which only further broke my unit. I will take my risk and use a company that is not covered by Whirlpools warranty just to avoid dealing with this company again. read more

It's too bad zero stars isn't an option. READ THE REVIEWS AND GO ELSEWHERE. Michael Jones, the technician that came to our home is very unprofessional, lazy, and unhelpful. He failed to diagnose our washer problem during the first visit (metal grinding during washing and literally ZERO water filling the drum) and blamed it on the installation of the washer hose. When the problem persisted, I captured it on video, but he still showed no interest in resolving the problem. Instead, he had to call the manufacturer's troubleshooting line and ultimately blamed it on a "setting issue," which is absurd since no manufacturer would design a washer with an unusable setting. Even after multiple excuses, like too much soap, an uneven load, and other baseless claims, the problem remains unresolved. Furthermore, "Mike" stated if he had to come out again, he would charge me a diagnostic fee because he couldn't figure out what was wrong. When I informed Jaime Bantner, their useless Dispatcher, I would not be paying this fee (at the instruction of Maytag themselves), she initially agreed but sent a follow up email contradicting her previous statement. To make matters worse, when my husband called the next day to confirm the scheduled appointment, Jaime laughed at him. When he asked what's so funny, she stated that the appointment was cancelled because Mike took it upon himself to contact Maytag and inform them it's a user error from too much soap. I am still trying to find the correlation of metal grinding and the drum trying to wash clothes with zero water with using too much soap (and that's besides the fact he has never had a conversation with me regarding soap or watched me fill the washer with soap). The level of unprofessionalism, disrespect and incompetence displayed by this company is astounding. I strongly advise against using this company if you value your time, money and peace of mind. Read the reviews across all platforms and you'll see their ratings reflect their service. I can't imagine what excuses they will reply to this review with after reading all the others. read more

Have a Maytag dishwasher where the start button had stopped functioning because some internal (plastic) components had broken. I bought it at Nampa Appliance (great place) who recommended Capitol for the fix. Kerry showed up, very professional, followed the COVID 'niceties', and got right to work. He had mentioned that he had seen that before and while he knew he had to order the new part he took the time to 'fab up' a workaround so that I could still use the washer till it arrived. It was as simple as taking the end of a bamboo skewer and build a brace for the board as the plastic support had broken. Genius! The new part will be at least a week or two out but as he said very sincerly, "there's so much going on these days I like to make sure folks can at least continue to get on with their lives" Great service especially in these challenging times. My Whirlpool Wash I have had for 4 months had a malfunction with the latch. It broke. I then contacted my store that I bought it from, they directed me to these fucking morons as they are responsible for the warranty on my machine. I called to make an appointment for the repair. At first they were helpful, and I was stoked that it was so easy to get it handled. Then I set up a repair for about 4-5 days later and they call me the day before to tell me the part was shipped broken. I was frustrated but said "no worries when can we get it here?" They said hopefully by next week or something like this.. I then said well I'm going out of town during that time so can we schedule another date following my arrival back home. They said no problem. On my way home today I get a text, on a Sunday, again the day before, to tell me their tech was injured. "We have to move you another 2 days back." At this point it has been almost 6 weeks to get these people to my house and fix the dam machine. They don't even try to put me another another techs list to fix the problem. Don't give a shit about what it means to not have a wash for 6 weeks. Been washing clothes in the bath tub and hand wringing them out so they don't over weigh the dryer. They then after sensing my frustration agree to put me on for tomorrow, the original day we agreed on weeks ago, and have the audacity to say that if "I am abusive toward the tech he has the right to leave".... Are you serious?! I work in the customer service industry of construction and repairs, why the fuck would i ruin a pour techs day just because management can't run a fucking business?! I have never been treated with worse customer service in my life and I lived in CA for 26 years. I moved from there to get away from people who run businesses like this. Well I don't like to write a bad review, but I must agree with most of the other reviewers. I made an appointment for a week later for a refrigerator that stopped working. The morning of the appointment I called to see if I could get a shorter window than the 4 hours given, but they said they couldn't at that time. No problem I was okay with that and had my 2-6pm window. Well 2:05 came and I got a call saying that the technician would not be able to make it and they had to cancel due to other jobs taking longer than expected, which surprised me thinking they still had 3 hours and 55 minutes to make my window. So I did not reschedule and called Lake Appliance Repair and they were able to get me in the same day (due to cancellation). I called on Dec. 12 to schedule a service call. She took all my information and said a tech would call me. After 24 hours I texted to ask if I should have received a call yet. She replied there was nothing she could do if the tech hadn't called, but she would remind him the next day. It's now Dec. 23 and I have not received a call. No follow up from the office, NOTHING. I ended up calling a competitor and they scheduled an appointment on the spot. Is there seriously no supervisor to ensure the techs do their jobs? Our Jenn Air cooktop needed repair of one of our burners that did turn out to be a bigger project than intended. The technician and scheduling folks were very nice and we have no issues with them at all. The manager's management of this situation has so far not been acceptable. In the repair process, the glass cooktop cracked ~6-8 inches. This model was discontinued so we could not order a new glass or a new cooktop for replacement. After going back/forth with them about a replacement (they wanted to replace it with lower price-point appliances that had terrible locations of the knobs, etc.), they came to our house today and told my husband they would give our money back for the repairs and $200 so ~$600. Not satisfactory. In the first place, it isn't the value of the appliance as it sits--it is the replacement value since we did not intend on replacing it but now we have to. Second, it is a crack, not a chip, so cracks do what over time? Migrate and get bigger so the surface is compromised. Third, I actually cook and use the stove so placemen of knobs, burners, cleanability, and various factors are considered in appliance selection and we expect a like-kind replacement of high-end to high-end. $600 doesn't do it. The manager said that they would be turning it in to their insurance. I'm sure that will be handled quickly...and certainly before Thanksgiving... read more

I was having issues with a two-year old Maytag washing machine (not in warranty) that kept starting over when the cycle was completed. I called several appliance repair shops recommended to me by Lowes. When I described my problem, most told me that it sounded like the control board. Service calls to see what the problem really was would run around $100 and, if it was the board, it would run around $300. For that amount, I was ready to buy a new washer that would last longer than a couple of years (probably not a Maytag). When I called Capitol, a very nice lady named Ashley (sp?) told me that she would describe my problem to one of the technicians and get back to me. The technician himself called within an hour (name is Kyle) . He seemed very knowledgeable and said it sounded like my problem might be that the machine was somehow set in "test mode." He walked me through a series of steps and, within a few minutes, we had the machine working correctly. I was so very impressed with both the knowledge of what needed to be done and the willingness to do it without charging for a service call. With customer service like this, I will take any appliance problem to this company. Outstanding job!!! read more

This is the worst and rudest appliance repair company I have ever dealt with. I was directed to this company by my extended warranty for my refrigerator, which was leaking. Capitol accepted the appointment for the end of the week (I called the extended warranty company on Monday) and they told me they could come out first thing in the morning around 8:00. But when the day came for them to come to come out no one was there and I called at 9:00. Then, after I stayed home to get my leaky refrigerator fixed, the Service Manager told me they don't service my refrigerator (which they should have- it uses Fridgedaire parts). When I told him the appliance uses Fridgedaire parts he became belligerent and when I told him I wanted to talk to the owner to told me "no" and hung up on me, repeatedly. Service call was scheduled for Friday from 8 to 12. It was 11:45 and nobody had showed. Really frustrating when you plan your day around a service call for them not to show up. I called to see what was going on and they informed me that they needed further questions answered. They said a message was left on Thursday, but I never received any message. It would have been nice to have another follow-up call as they realize I had never called them back to answer the questions. Now here is the really frustrating part, I called and gave the exact part number that I needed. The dryer is under warranty which is why I requested the service call. There should not have been anymore questions. The exact part number was given. I did know what was wrong with my dryer. It would be one star but for the service we got seven years ago. I have called them twice on service matters since October: once for a microwave part and once about my washer. The microwave part needed to be ordered but I was promised a delivery date that met my needs only to have the date come and go . The promised date came and Capitol then said 2 more weeks for delivery past when I had to have the part. The second call was about my Speed Queen washer. The tech first said that was how the washer worked and then said if I was dissatisfied I should call Speed Queen's 800 number. I asked for the number and the response was look it up. My question was answered simply and quickly elsewhere and Capitol's comment that's how the washer works was true only for the one setting. Changing the setting and problem solved. I ordered a refrigerator evaporator motor by telephone from Capitol Refrigeration also dba Parts Today. I gave them the GE part# off my old motor & they assured me they could get a replacement part for me within a week. They billed my CC and called me in about a week to notify me of its arrival. when I got it home I discovered it had a completely different mounting setup and wasn't a direct replacement. I also noticed the part# on the receipt was different than the one on the motor & both were different than the one on my original part. I called Capitol Refrigeration & was told that the item superseded my old part & their policy was absolutely no returns on electrical items. They stated they were sorry it didn't fit but insinuated that maybe I just didn't know how to install it. They offered to try to install it if I wanted to pay for a service call. I fabricated a completely new mounting system from scrap metal & rubber hose & bought a correct size fan blade online (the one provided with their new motor was too large for my fridge), and installed the motor. Fridge works fine now. I initially filed a BBB complaint & Capitol took 2-1/2 weeks to respond. They stated that they tried to call me but were told I didn't live here anymore (??). They stated that I could call them and they would "try" to assist me with the installation over the phone. I could have ordered a universal fit motor myself from an internet dealer & saved money, time, & headaches. Obviously I can't recommend this business based on my experience. read more
