I had an issue with water valve on my frig. The prior repair person replaced the valve with the wrong one and when my my overflow problem continued I was advised my Ice maker was defective. These guys came out and after a thorough inspection, determined the WRONG water valve was installed. Prior repair person spent 350.00 replaced water valve, the ice maker and no fix. This is the second time I called Walter of this company, first time to repair a broken dishwasher rack and this morning to fix a self-cleaning oven that wouldn't open and had no power after self-cleaning. Yesterday an electrician was at my house, who checked that power was going to the unit (he had removed the circuit breaker panel). So I called Walter at Express Appliance Service today. Walter was able to open and pull out the over. He found two fuses that had failed and had the parts already in his truck to replace them. He had given me over the phone a two-hour window, and came early into the time slot. He was efficient, courteous, and knew exactly what to do. They give appointments very late . In my case more than a week , just to come and see . The fridge was not cooling !! Finally they came , but did not repair properly . Had to be recalled but they missed the appointment, which they gave after a week . So now we are without a working fridge for more than 2 weeks !!! read more

Walt responded quickly to my request on having an issue with my fridge. Both the freezer and fridge was down and I had to resort to putting my food into a cooler. Within the same day that I had called, he had scheduled me in last minute and allowed me to choose a time that I was available, knowing how urgent it was to have a fridge up and running to prevent food spoilage. He arrived on-time and was professional throughout the entire service. He was informative with the issues that he inspected and specified exactly how he was going to address the issue. I was impressed at how honest and accurate he was at inspecting my fridge and giving an estimate. He even worked out an alternative plan in case his first analysis was incorrect. FYI, he was on point about what was wrong with my fridge. My fridge was up and running within a few hours like he had determined it would. He was in and out of my house within less than an hour. In the past, I've had Sears technicians come out to fix my fridge for the same issue and it cost an arm and a leg and the issue still didn't get resolved. It has been almost a year since Walt had provided service to my fridge and until this day, my fridge has worked perfectly, if not better than how it was. (I finally remembered to write a review for him since he'll be coming back to fix another one of my appliance). I'm glad that I decided to go with Walt even though I was a bit hesitant at first. Because I am a chatterbox and pretty sure I was annoying him with the my inability to stop asking questions (I like to get to the know the people that I'm around), I had learned that he was Russian. Many Russian people are straight and to the point type of people without the fluff and BS, so some people do mistaken that as rude. In my opinion, in a field where service is being provided, that lack of fluff and BS is called honesty. His professionalism, fast, and honest service is worth every penny. He gets straight to the point, which to me shows that he values my time and is NOT trying to run up the hours on the clock. The BEST repair technician! My Whirlpool Duet front load washer wasn't completing a cycle, having kids this is an emergency! I had a repair technician at my house within the hour. I called them out to look at my 8 year old Kitchen Aid refrigerator. The freezer was not working properly. Walter came out and without even pulling the fridge out from the wall diagnosed the problem as leaking coolant. This was done in less that 15 minutes!! I also asked him to look at my Kitchen Aid wine fridge as it was not cooling properly. Again without even pulling it out from under the cabinet he diagnosed the problem as leaking coolant. Kid you not he had diagnosed both appliances and was out of my house with my money in 15 minutes!! Oh and he suggested I purchase new appliances. Don't use this guy he is a crook!! BTW, I had another repair company out and the problem with the fridge was a bad compressor. I spent $450 (instead of $2000 as Walter recommended in buying a new one) and it is working great. Walter came out to fix our Whirlpool washing machine. Unfortunately, to no fault of his, the replacement part that was used also had a defect. Walter saw it through to the very end. I really don't like writing bad reviews. I normally just never do business with them again, but I think everyone needs to know what they're in for with Express Appliance Service. My dryer belt broke so I called them on a Wednesday or Thursday to make an appointment for the following Monday (my only day off). Since it is my only day off I made sure the guy on the phone knew I had a Kenmore stackable, and that I had pulled the panels off and it was a belt that was broken. Walter arrived promptly and I showed him the dryer and the broken belt. He told me he could come back tomorrow because he didn't have the belt on his truck. I told him that wouldn't do because I didn't have another day off to be there until the following week. At that point I told him that was exactly why I told the guy on the phone it was a belt. To that Walter said, "No you didn't". That's when I saw red. I bothered to investigate the issue in hopes that 1) I might be able to fix it myself, or 2) I could save valuable time pinpointing the issue for the technician. As it turned out Sears had the part in stock (maybe 5 miles away) and through some YouTube videos I was able to get my dryer belt on and up in running. All Walter had to do was go to Sears. I just don't think he wanted to be bothered with it. Note: If you do choose to go with Express Appliance Service get the earliest appointment possible so you'll be able to have a back up plan. read more

Mike came out to fix our AC/Air. He looked at the unit and felt it with his hand said nothing was wrong and charged me a $65 service call. That night my ac stopped working and I called someone else the next morning. The new company within two minutes hooked up the their pressure gauges to my unit and saw it had zero freon. I asked how long it takes for it to run out and they told me it must have been running low for over a few days. Express Appliance Service should never have calmed they're an AC/Air company if they don't even have the correct tools to check or fix Air conditioners. I called Express Appliance and Walter said he'll talk to Mike but I never receive a call back and they cashed my check. read more

I have no hesitation giving 5 stars to Express Appliance Service, specially the technician, Walter who diagnosed and fixed our Whirlpool washer. We were having a 'start' problem with this fairly new washer for 2-3 years and even I didn't get good explanation from the manufacturer because the problem occurs only intermittently. So we were using it with a lot of frustration. I found them on the web and called. Walter came on the same day, diagnosed correctly, ordered the parts on the same day.
