It is absolutely appalling how this business takes advantage of women and elderly. Let me list a few examples: 1. When I purchased my used car 6 years ago I brought it to them for an oil change. They told me at that time my brakes were about 90% gone and that they wouldn't trust their family in it. I chose to bring it home and let my husband take a look. It's been 6 years and I STILL haven't had to replace them. No squealing or anything. 2. I brought my car in for a new set of tires. I went to their website where they list what they have available. I took it in and told them what I wanted and they "weren't in stock" and sold me something more expensive. For the next two weeks I drove my car with a obvious bounce in my driver side front tire. I decided to take it back in to find out ALL of the tires had to be rebalanced because they weren't balanced correctly the first time. 3. My parents took their car in for a new battery. They were told they needed new battery cables as well. So they had them all replaced. Fast forward a couple weeks and their car DIES on the side of the road. I go to jump them off and they take it back to the shop. They were told it was an issue with the battery they JUST installed. So they install another one. A few months have gone by and the car DIES AGAIN! My father gets out to check and all the cables they installed had come disconnected. He reconnected them and decided to take it somewhere else. The new place he took it to said that it was NOT a new battery but a refurbished battery!! These guys are crooks and do shotty work. DO NOT USE THEM!! read more

A stick was stuck in my tire and was in a location that would not allow me to get it plugged, but would require a whole new tire. After visiting two other tire shops nearby who didn't have my tire in stock, I stopped at Express Oil Change in desperate need of a tire. The guys there were soooo helpful. At first, they told me that had my tire in stock and could get it done in no time. Then, they found out the tire had been sent back, but they could order it. Being that I live out of state and had to travel back the next day, I didn't have time to wait for a tire - I needed something immediately because driving on a donut 100+ miles was not safe. When I told the team this, they IMMEDIATELY began seeking other options. They found a similar tire at another Express location and had someone drive it over. Fast forward to almost an hour later, and my tire was on and I was riding yet again! The team was extremely helpful, friendly, funny, and just all-around good people. I don't think I have ever experienced customer service like that, especially at an auto care center. Thank you so much to the guys who helped!! This place was the only place I would get my oil changed until they ruined my oil pan and will not pay to fix it. They say that the damage caused to it is normal when I asked several other places and they said it was definitely not normal. I had several other friends also go through this same problem with their car and I will never bring my car here again. read more

Car belongs to my wife. Store in Leeds, AL. Pros: Good experience having my flat fixed, tires rotated and balanced. Cons: Specifically requested all the tires inflated to manufacture specifications of 30 Lb/Sq in. The next morning, I checked the tires to insure the flat repair had sealed the puncture; it was, in fact, the ONLY tire that had been inflated to 30 Lb/sq in. The remaining tires were under inflated showing 27 - 28 Lb/sq in. As a car guy, this was an inconvenience completing work the service technician at Express Oil should have done. But most women do not check their tires. Women in general assume the service technician did what he was suppose to do. I would suggest if you're not a car enthusiast you should stay away from this store. If the technicians are doing sloppy work inflating your tires, what else are they doing sloppy work on. read more

Scott and the manager were super helpful with our air conditioning blower problem! We are currently traveling and our air conditioning wanted to cease blowing. We arrived one hour before closing, they took our van back to diagnose the problem. Less than twenty minutes later we had the reason. Thank you so much for your kind customer service! I went in for an oil change and also wanted them to look at my ac it stopped blowing cold. I called before hand just to double check they could look at it that day and get a price. The guy on the phone said diagnostics on that would be $49. I get there tell the worker in the bay what all I need done and he says the same thing diagnostics would be $49. I get my oil change done and the technician walks me inside and tells the manager what I want done and he tells me it's $69, I tell him that's not what I've been told TWICE today. He says yea it's went up we just noticed it on the computer. We have a few words and he says he'll go by the two prices I was given earlier and by his technician but next time it would be $69. They get my car back and look at it grand total to fix it would be around $750-$800. After all that and I go to pay he says he won't charge me at all for the diagnostics, I appreciated that after all the confusion. I ended up getting the same part and labor done for $357 at another local shop who is very reputable. I don't recommend Express for anything besides an oil change unless you want to pay double. read more
