I have been here many times before and will continue coming here. However, the 10 minute oil change advertisement is a little false. I was 3 cars back in line and didn't get in the bay until 1.5 hours later. I get they were busy but in the other two bays, two cars that got in line 10 minutes after I did, got in the bays well before I did. They are knowledgeable and provide good customer service. Express lube in general has been a great experience. It was my first time at this location. I cannot put into words the friendliness of every staff member there, and the excellent attention to detail. I had a few questions so I talked at length to Francisco and Yovany Who went above and beyond to help me with my questions. I have a regular mechanic and needed a differential change on my front and back. I had my own fluid and they performed the service for quite a bit cheaper than my personal mechanic, who is also very fair on prices. I will definitely be coming back here for all my oil changes on all my cars in the future. If 0 stars was an option, that's exactly what they'd get. Mid-June I got my oil changed at this location out of convenience as I was visiting a friend in town. The VIN for my car didn't show in the system even though I'd had it changed there before. Because of this, the techs had to confirm with the manager what they needed for my vehicle. They changed the oil. I left. Thought everything was good. End of June (2 days before we had a trip planned for an important family event) my husband calls me on his way home because there's white smoke pouring out of our car as he's driving down the interstate. He tows it to a different place we'd gone to before for maintenance, but they were unable to look at it until the day we needed to leave. We're forced to pay almost $500 for a rental car to make it to my family event. After paying another $110 for the vehicle to be diagnosed, they inform us that Express Oil somehow put 8.5 quarts of oil in my 4 quart engine. How you mess something up so bad, I will never know. We immediately call Express Oil to tell them and to put in a firm request for a refund for damages and for the rental car we were forced to get because of their mistake. All while the manager was incredibly hostile with us for not telling him immediately that something was wrong with the vehicle and demanded to know why we took it to someone other than Express Oil to get diagnosed, to which I told him that we didn't know it was his fault until 30 minutes before we called him. The manager takes the invoices for both the diagnosis and the rental car and assures us we'll have a check in the mail within 4 weeks. 4 weeks go by and we still have no check. My husband calls the manager, and he tells us that corporate didn't have the information they needed from him (I'm assuming what he really meant was "I never sent corporate the information") but they do now and we should have a check within 2 weeks. 2 weeks go by and we still have no check. My husband calls again. The manager tells us he accidentally assigned the case to himself instead of corporate but he got it switched. Another week goes by. My husband calls corporate. This sweet woman told us she would help us. 2 more weeks go by and we still don't have a check. It wasn't until a week ago when my husband said a lawyer would be involved soon that they finally decided to cut us a check. We drove over an hour all the way to Murfreesboro this morning to pick up the check because for whatever reason they didn't mail it to us directly (and it's a good thing they didn't because the address on the check was not only NOT the address we gave the manager, but was an old address that the street was spelled incorrectly on). The check they wrote to us was for $86. My husband asked the manager why it wasn't for the full amount and he tried to make more excuses ("they changed my company email address on me 3 times" - I don't believe that. It's a professional business email with his name @expressoil(.)com. They would not change that.) $86. When the invoices we submitted were for $600. We will never be returning to Express Oil. We're still hunting down the money we're owed for their mistake. It's clear the manager does not want to help us whatsoever, and I doubt he would want to help you if you had any issues at their establishment. Beware. read more

Needed to get a fast oil change before heading on a trip and stopped in here. Glad I did , the folks here were friendly and fast. The checked everything you need checked and top off everything to. Only complaint I had is seemed a little steep at $73.00 for a oil change and 34.00 to change my bulb in my headlight. But hey it's the cost of of convenience. Our family has been coming to this Express Oil since moving to Murfreesboro, TN. The staff we have worked with have all been outstanding but there is crew member I want to recognize. Joe is a mountain of a man. When he welcomes you into the oil change area he does so with the precision of a an air traffic controller. Joe confirms what the service needed is and gets to work. He explains what needs to be done and makes sound recommendations. Joe has also talked with each of my sons about their vehicles and service needs. As sons sometimes do they may not hear dad but they always hear Joe. He is the firm but kind voice that let's my sons know they need to take of their car not dad. Joe also shares he was the same way and only learned through his mistakes to take care of his car. We come back to this Express Oil because of Joe. We always will! Update: Today with the weather at 9 degrees windchill our family wanted to drop off donuts to these wonderful people who have taken care of us. I don't normally leave reviews but I went to Express Oil Change (location off Old Fort Pkwy, Murfreesboro, TN) on 12-15-22 for an oil change in a new to me vehicle. I spoke to the manager, Francisco. He was very professional, very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. He explained what they were doing to my vehicle and why (they vacummed the oil out instead of draining from the oil plug under the vehicle). He cut up and bantered back and forth with me. I did not feel rushed and I felt like they appreciated my business. Price was very fair. I would highly recommend them. read more

I called ahead of time to make sure that they were not backed up. I was told that it was a slow day and they could get me right in. I was just around the corner and proceeded to the shop. When I got there there were several cars in front of me and obviously they were backed up. I didn't have a lot of time to wait and that's why I called in advance. After waiting 20 minutes they still had not started on my oil change and I was forced to leave to find another facility. Just wish the attendant had been honest and not wasted my time. read more

I'm a picky guy. I provided my own oil change supplies. No problems there. Maybe took a bit more than 10 minutes but Murfreesboro is just so busy now days. Not sure why this is called Express Oil Change, nothing about it is Express. We waited for 20 minutes with just one person ahead of us and each car on each side of us got in before we did. They didn't bother to come out to our car and tell us why it was taking so long or why everybody else got ahead of us so we decided to take our business elsewhere and we will never go back. read more

Checked my dipstick one day after getting some strange oil pressure gauge readings. Turns out the dipstick was nearly dry. Uh-oh, 'better take it to get an oil change' I thought. Ended up being close to $60 for a high-mileage conventional oil change. Fairly pricy for that, but whatever, I paid for the convenience of not having to do it myself on a busy day. I have no problem paying for convenience, even if the price is inflated because it's advertised as "full service" (meaning they top off your wiper fluid and check your tire tread... real full service). The real problem I had with this place is when they then gave me a quote for over $1200 because, according to them, my oil pan gasket was mostly hanging out of the oil pan, and my head gasket was jacked up. They quoted me ~12 hours of labor at $85/hr + parts (3 other local places I called said it was a 2-3 hour job). I took their quote, went about my way, then went to my regular mechanic and had him take a look at the truck. Oil pan gasket was perfectly seated and doing its job, and there wasn't a thing wrong with the head gasket. Simply an older vehicle that drinks oil. The only thing he found was the early stages of a fairly significant coolant leak that was remedied by... wait for it... an $8 radiator pressure cap. Something that Express Oil Change completely failed to notice during their "full service" inspection. They are deceptive. They try to take a mile from an inch. Get your oil changed here if you must, but do NOT get any large repairs done here. read more

Every once in a while, I get "wowed" by an experience. This happened today while getting my oil changed. Francisco met me at my car, was very polite and informative, and stayed with me throughout the oil change. Everyone I interacted with was genuinely happy to serve me (very rare in this industry). A few recommendations were made, but just things to keep an eye on. This is my 3rd oil change here and I won't be going anywhere else. I was in and out in less that 15 minutes. read more

Do not take your car to these people for any reason. My wife took a perfectly good car to them for an oil change and after they finished the trouble began. Her car wouldn't start and the engine made loud popping noises. They sent a tow truck to my house to get the car and after it arrived at thier store it miraculously starts working. I just can't recommend this place enough. Honesty, integrity and just out right good service. My wife came in for an oil change before a road trip. They identified a leak in a tire, bought a new one at Sam's Club, didn't charge her a penny over the amount on the tire receipt and changed it for her.
