When I called for the estimate the guy on the line was very cordial. I had already called another company to compare prices, so was prepared to pull the trigger (or not) on the call. They were better price-wise, able to set up an appointment that was soon enough for me. When the truck arrived, the driver was friendly and efficient. We've lived here for 18 years and have used two other septic service companies during that time. This time, I was ready for a change. After reading Google and Yelp reviews as well as recommendations posted on our town's local "neighbors" FB page, I gave Express Septic Services a call yesterday afternoon. I explained to Delpha what our concerns were, and she took the time to tell me what could/should be done. I was very impressed with her knowledge and professionalism. (In today's age, it's amazing how far courtesy goes!!!) This morning, Isaac came out and pumped the septic system, inspected it, and did a high-pressure test of the drainage pipe from the house to ensure there wasn't any clog in the system. He took the time to explain things to my husband, and he gave us much more information about our system's setup than we had ever received before. We highly recommend Express Septic. This is the best septic service call I have ever experienced. Septic system started acting up on July 4 of all days. We thought it needed pumping. After making a few calls to various septic companies, a very nice lady answered at Express Septic. I explained what was going on and she looked up our system on the county website. She thought it could be a clogged filter instead of in need of pumping. She knew what she was talking about, not just an answering service like a lot of the companies. She set up an appointment to have her techs come out the next day and they showed up promptly. They quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad float as well as a dirty filter. They also found a faulty alarm buzzer which they replaced. They measured the tank and said the levels were fine. They fine tuned the system and explained everything to me as they progressed. I learned a lot about the system from them. There was only one service charge, not by the minute as some others charge. The price was fair and the service fantastic from start to finish. My Contractor thought Septic tank had a problem so asked and he came up with a option and gave a informal quote but when we received the quote it was 3 times higher with some weird charges. If I could give 10 stars, I would. This company is honest and extremely trustworthy. They are not interested in finding "problems" just so they can fix them at exorbitant prices. Randy, the owner, takes the time to explain your system to you, go over your control panel, tell you how to handle emergencies should that dreaded alarm go off in the middle of the night and what absolutely needs to be done on an annual basis to keep your system care free (apparently there is a filter that should be inspected and/or replaced once a year). He wasn't interested in drumming up more business for himself, he was truly interested in educating me and putting me at ease for the single most important (and expensive) system for my home. I called Express because another septic company told me that my system had multiple problems including needing an entire new control panel. Randy came out, checked over the panel, replaced two parts, reconnected a wire and everything worked fine saving me 2.5k. He showed me everything he did, explained it all to me and then filed the paperwork with the county. The county came out and passed the work that he did. It was very clear that Express cares about their customers, will go above and beyond to help with any problem. As a previous review noted, they never rush, they explain things thoroughly in language you can understand, they do not talk down to you and they are not interested in just getting what they can from you. Then this morning Chris and Josh arrived a few minutes early and were so friendly and professional. They finished the inspection in about 40 minutes, gave me the results, received payment then took off. Express Septic was the 3rd place I contacted to try and get a quote for a routine maintenance on our septic. I called and the phone was immediately answered. I asked about obtaining a quote and the representative best suited to provide that information was unavailable at that time. They took my information and I wasn't sure if I would receive a call back since the 1st business I contacted didn't even care to respond to me. But I received a call 30 seconds later. She provided me the figures over the phone and it was considerably less than the previous estimate I received from the 2nd business I had contacted. Without even knowing that I would go with them, she offered to email me a copy of the as built if I would like. I happened to already have it, but it was a nice gesture. I made an appt for a day that worked best for me and they made it happen. On the scheduled date, I received a 30 minute advanced courtesy call from Tim and saw him right when he said he would be there. I showed him to the 1 exposed lid that we were able to find. We anticipated that he may have to dig for the pump lid. He checked it out and to our disappointment, whoever did the installation of the septic did a poor job. They covered the pump lid with a cement box for the electrical pump wires. Also, the septic tank itself was too deep to hand dig without it incurring high costs due to how long it would take. There were 2 other lids on the septic they would need access to in order to pump this properly. He said that we could do it or they could. But if we wanted to save money, he showed us where to dig. He said that to do this right, they should install risers so the lids would be exposed above ground. There was a lot more detail that I won't go into. But Tim was outstanding! He was very personable and so helpful. It's always frustrating to find that someone else's short cuts become your problem to take care of because you don't want to leave that headache for anyone else. We knew that we needed an inspection, and then our toilets and drains started bubbling up, making septic pumping an urgent need. We scheduled online with one company, who sent an automatic confimration, but they ghosted us. Never showed up, no callback, nothing. The second company we called the next day, no one answered or called back. By the time I called Express septic, we were desperate. The wam who answered the phone was quite pleasant and when I told her of our situation, she said that she could have someone out within the hour. And she did! Great service from the start. I called on a Sunday afternoon when I downstairs shower started to backup. The lady that I spoke with just so happen to be in the office working on paperwork and answered the phone. She was not a technician but wen out of her way to help me with my septic issue. After the first phone call where I ended up scheduling a tech, she called me back after doing more research to help diagnose more of my system displaying to me such devotion to her company. The technician(Shawn)came out the next day and knew exactly what was wrong(clogged inlet filter), and cleaned it right away. He also took the time to explain to me how the system works and what I could to myself to maintain my system and save me money down the road. I'm the kind of guy that doesn't hire people to do things because I can usually fix it. But for this one I had to swallow my pride and place the mayday call. Called and they sent Shawn out the same day which happened to be the day before Christmas Eve. $30 difference for having them come out on a weekend instead of a weekday, but when your toilets aren't flushing, that's fair. Talked to someone else (I forgot their name) on the phone and appreciated that he assumed I wasn't a complete idiot homeowner and asked me what I troubleshooted and what I was able to find out. I told them the list of things I tried and where I thought the problem was, and they sent Shawn out. 45 minutes later he's at my house and within 5 minutes he pulled a filter out of the inlet baffle of my septic tank, right where I had a feeling the problem was. As a first time homeowner with a septic tank this was our worst nightmare come true. Shawn was funny and professional and even took some time to educate me even more about my system with common problems he's seen. I had to pay for the minimum 1 hour service call, and while he fixed the problem in 10 minutes, he stuck around and answered questions to make it worth it. These guys are top notch and my go to now if I have a septic issue. Quick response, friendly staff and what I valued most was that I wasn't talked to like I didn't know what I was doing. Randy and his team are FAIR priced and do know septic systems. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is their COMMUNICATION to the customer is an area of desperate need of attention. On 3 different scheduled times not once did they show up within the 4 hour window, nor did they call once the time window passed. The 2nd visit, I was told 8am-noon, well at 7:30pm with no prior communication, they showed up. I also asked to be notified on 2 other visits, only once did that happen. So far they repairs they made to my drain field are working. If you want a honest, hard working, septic team, I would recommend them. However be prepared to WAIT & WAIT. read more

I took too long to write this review and have forgotten the names of the staff I interacted with but both of them were very friendly and helpful. Hemely's was recommended to us but they took three days to call us back and sounded annoyed that we called in their voicemail to us. Express Septic answered at 7pm at night and called back when they said they would to help us schedule a time for a tech to meet us at our house.
