I know many people who have sent their kids there (and one of my best friends went to Kim's when he was a kid--he's 29 years old now. He loved it!) . All the kids rave about it. My son has already told me that he wants to go back again for next year. He says it's the best camp. The staff are wholesome and down to earth. The camp has so many fun activities and adventures--without wearing down the campers. The camp is super chill and relaxed yet maintaining campers' safety and protection. Another great thing is the intimacy of the camp director and staff. They really get to know us and they are super approachable and down to earth. They do not have any pretension or arrogance. They're the real-deal. And they take such good care of their staff. I am a union organizer--so I look at these sort of things. I can tell that they are always looking out for the campers AND the staff. I am touched by the support that the administration offers to the staff. I love the staff. They're all fascinating individuals who really love the campers. We are so grateful that we have an opportunity to send our son to such a fabulous space. We will be surely sending our son there again. The camp is super flexible. For instance, I have summer Fridays so I send my son there for 4 days instead of 5. It's great to be able to save that kind of money The camp (Sandra) sends out an email with updates about the plans for the following day with instructions etc. Sandra is very responsive to emails and offers personalized care. She was very empathetic and flexible to me when I had a miscarriage while I was registering my son for camp. That sort of care is immeasurable. In addition, every morning--the adorable Camp Director Dan gives us an update. Dan is awesome. He's like a real new yorker. He's been doing this camp for 30+ years. He says that he has basically made a camp that he wished he had when he was a kid. My son loves Dan's stories...actually all kids' love Dan's stories. He is amazing.

Each day in Kim's Kids is a day trip in a bus to the beach, pool, bowling alley, aquarium, ice skating ring, and so on. It's affordable and they take good care of the children. It's a great feeling when you think about your child having a blast while you're in a zoom meeting. And then during the weekend you don't feel bad if you just want to stay home and relax because your child already went to the beach, the pool and all the fun places!

I tried to push through but was then checkin in by the horrible staff member who didnt end smile. Didnt even tell me the total when paying for my two children = $23 + $18 = $41 nor have a receipt. I was told it would be emailed, but never got that either. The cost came with an open room with worn down items, broken toys, no coffee station (even though there is a sign), and not even a stocked bathroom. Toys were bent, old, overly used and wearing off. Even the bins from IKEA were falling apart.. IKEA items should be easily replaced as they are cheap. The facilities was worn down as well, paint chipped or peels off on seating area and slides. Mural is still nice. The "cafe" area seating was pushed to the wall, not allowing a place to sit while the worker was putting streamers on a board for the private room. There is no water fountain to refill your water bottle. Again, advertised coffee and tea.. when asked was told "nothing, you can go to starbucks" as I pointed to the sign the worker said "OH"! I had to give the front desk girl broken items and she left in the lobby area!! I can see her just putting them back in after we leave in order not to deal with it. As a representative of the space, she was horribly spaced out with a negative demeanor as if she hates her job. Private room for classes and parties is cute... I believe this is where their energy goes to. I can see it good for a 1 year bday party. Ages 2 and over for open play with bore out fast. I reflect constently on how truly disappointing it was!!

Right inside the door there's a stroller parking area, which was quite crowded but we made it work. The class was full of moms, dads, other nannies, and tons of kiddos mostly ages 1.5-4. The music teacher was really charming with the kids, had lots of songs prepared, and boxes of instruments with easy rhythm games, and ways to get adults involved as well. We had a blast! There's a fairly large playroom outside of the classroom that has soft jungle gym toys, a big wooden play kitchen, lots of pretend food, balls, a huge safe space to play. I also noticed lots of cleaner nearby, which was a relief, I bet a place like that gets a lot of germs real quick. The parents of my little charge told me that I can always take him there, especially on a rainy day, its only $10 for the whole day.

I was pleased with the information Gordon, the camp's director provided and wanted to be sure I guaranteed a spot for my daughter immediately following our conversation. The service is working out amazingly. When I initially met Shawn, he reassured me that my little one was in good hands and answered all the questions I nervously rattled off at him. Well, on several occasions, my child and several children were being bullied, and it was brought to the counselors attention to the main offices attention, and to the owners/guy who runs it attention. supposedly the child that was bullying My child and several others should have be kicked out. That's what their policy states that didn't happen. My child had to endure being bullied or what happened was we left and did not get our money back even when brought to their attention on numerous occasions that that bullying child was still there! And bullying is supposedly against their guidelines. The situation is I have one child and they were only getting paid for one child. The kid that bullied. My child had siblings so if they kicked that child out, the parents were gonna take the other children out and ask for their money back for their children. So does sum it up if your child gets bullied, they will do nothing about it. You just make your child summer a living hell!
