On my first visit to Extreme Hummus I opted to go inside and order vs. ordering via drive thru. I'm so glad for this as the nice people who work here offered to let me try all their hummus flavors! Every hummus flavor was absolutely delicious making it difficult to pick just 3 for the hummus trio. I went for the babaganoush, white bean & garlic, and the house flavor, Extreme Hummus. I also ordered a gyro wrap and a kabob platter for the hubby. Everything was delicious and the service was great. I've wanted to try this place for sometime. I decided to do a DoorDash. My first order was the Dolmas, grape leaves, with stuffed with rice, olive oil, and seasonings. It came with a tzatziki sauce and a baba ghanoush dip. The grape leaves were tender, and the filling was rich, but not too rich. I did like the baba ghanoush dip, I could taste the eggplant. I also had the beef and lamb Shawarma. Beef, lamb, veggies, tzatziki sauce, and their. Artichoke and pesto hummus. The sandwich was good, but I wasn't a fan of the flatbread. It reminded me basically of a tortilla. It would've been nicer if this could've been on a pita, instead of a flatbread. Also, the artichoke and pesto hummus, there was very little of it in the Shawarma. What little was good, but I could hardly taste it. That tzatziki itself was tangy and good. 6/9/2026: Extreme Hummus' restaurant menu is quite extensive. BTW: I spoke to the Restaurant Owner regarding ordering the rack of lamb. The Restaurant Owner stated it's imperative all customers MUST ORDER THE RACK OF LAMB ONE DAY IN ADVANCE especially, serving several people. The rack of lamb will feed only ONE PERSON possibly, two people; the rack of lamb only provides six pieces. I've been wanting to try Extra Hummus since I moved to the area a few months ago. My husband and I came here last week and it was OK. I had their beef kabob plate and it was underwhelming. I expected it to taste like an authentic Persian koobideh dish, it didn't. My husband enjoyed the beef lamb gyro though! We came in the evening and it was a bit empty so the atmosphere was very quiet, which was nice. Service was great though. The woman that helped me is new and she did great. I met Rey today and he was extremely attentive despite having a catering event in their restaurant that day. He even offered his customers the left over tea that was left behind. I decided to swing by this new Mediterranean spot to pick up dinner after seeing some good reviews and photos on Yelp. The restaurant is local and has a very large dining area, but when I arrived, it wasn't busy at all. You walk straight in to order at the counter, with menus displayed behind it and an open kitchen. I will say it's a little tricky to look over the menu before ordering since it's behind the counter, but I went ahead and ordered right away. The staff was nice, and I ordered the Extreme Chicken Bowl with jalapeño and cilantro hummus (based on a Yelp photo) and a side of fries. My order took about 10 minutes to prepare for takeout. Unfortunately, by the time I got home (about a 15-20 minute drive), the food was cold. Definitely something to consider if you're ordering to go. The fries were completely cold and overcooked--would have been decent if they had stayed crispy. The hummus bowl was small for the price and honestly not very flavorful. The chicken was dry and had a strange texture, almost over-marinated. The jalapeño and cilantro hummus didn't really taste like much; the strongest flavor ended up being the briny olives. Overall, this was a disappointing experience. The food just didn't live up to the photos or reviews, and I don't think I'll be returning. read more

We had dinner at Extra Hummus for the first time last night and had such a great experience! The customer service was truly first class from the moment we walked in. The prices were very reasonable, the portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. We arrived a little later in the evening, and they had run out of the chicken normally used for the dish we ordered. Rather than tell us they were out, they upgraded us to the kebab chicken at no additional charge. When this place first opened in late 2025, I gave it a try and ordered the beef kebab plate. Unfortunately, it had so much sumac on it that I couldn't finish it. I ended up throwing it away and figured I probably wouldn't be coming back. Today I was in the mood for Greek food and decided to give them one more shot, and I'm glad I did. I ordered the chicken gyro plate with fries and a piece of baklava. The chicken was seasoned really well, the tzatziki had great flavor, and while it's not my favorite tzatziki I've ever had, it was still really good. The fries were fresh, hot, and cooked just right. The baklava was probably my favorite part. I asked the cashier about it, and she told me the owner makes it by hand and is a baker. I ordered one, and she was kind enough to throw in a second piece for free, which I really appreciated. It was really good baklava. My only complaint is the drive thru. It moves a little slower than I'd expect, so if you're in a hurry, keep that in mind. Other than that, I really enjoyed the meal and I'll definitely be back. read more

This restaurant is near my office, in the Rivergate Shopping Center. My staff was raving about the food. Thought I'd give it a go. Came in the place was empty for lunch . Staff was welcoming. I ordered the chicken rice plate with , salad & a pita with garlic hummus. It was really delicious ; So delicious I returned the next day on my lunch LOL This time I ordered a different chicken plate. I ordered the chicken Kabob. These took some time to cook , but was willing to wait. Had all the same sides. I have to say this this chicken , the way it was prepared was a game changer. OMG , the kabobs were so tender and juicy and I definitely prefer it this way. bThey have plenty on the menu to try . I'm a huge middle eastern food fan (Greek, Lebanese, Turkish, Afghani) and have tried many of the restaurants in the Sacramento area. I was very impressed how good the food tasted here. The restaurant is clean and orderly with ethnic music playing. The front server was very nice and friendly. She explained the restaurant is owned by an Afghani family which reminded me of my favorite kabob place when I lived in Arlington, VA. The beef and lamb gyro plate was scrumptious and mildly spicy. I have been to a variety of similar places, and certainly some of the fancy upscale kabob places in the area and these guys outdid them all. Glad to see a new good place in the neighborhood. Based on reviews we decided to try the lamb shank meal which was excellent $19.75. Their website says it is cooked in a tomato sauce but it didn't carry the flavor of tomato to it which is good by me. It fell off the bone. Conversely, the beef & lamb gyro was awesomely packed to the gills. I ate it 1 hour afterwards and no sogginess. It actually did have a hint of a marinara flavor like a previous reviewer mentioned, but overall really good for $10.99. Was given a sample of the garlic, regular, artichoke and jalapeno hummus. All were very good but my favorites were the regular and garlic. We literally ate every morsel. Even the salad was good. Recommend an extra pita bread or two and more hummus. Took about 20-25 min to get the order so I recommend ordering ahead but ironically they also have a drive thru that I would only use to pick up a take out order. Confused by discount on receipt. The price was decent for the amount and size of the food, though the baklava was expensive as per usual. I enjoyed the well seasoned chicken, crunch from the red cabbage and onion, and the cool refreshing flavor of the sauce for balance. The chicken gyro with chipotle saucy wasn't as spicy as we thought, it also tasted like spaghetti(?), fun experience. Came in for lunch later in the day. I saw that this place had very positive reviews which made it stand out above the other restaurants in the shopping center and I was not disappointed. The person who took my order offered samples of the various hummus to help me make my decision, and all tasted delicious and freshly made. He even offered me free baklava when I told him it was my first time here, and that my order would take a little bit longer to prepare. The baklava was some of the better I've had, it wasn't overly sweet and they do not skimp on the pistachio! The dining room is set up like a fast casual restaurant, but the music was classical Mediterranean as well as the decor. This seems like a family run restaurant which I prefer.
