Fantastic Mediterranean spot in Rancho! I finally tried the falafel platter and it was outstanding -- perfectly seasoned falafel, creamy hummus with the perfect texture, and plenty of fresh sides. Definitely order extra pita, you'll be glad you did. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the expanded menu at their second location is impressive. Everything! Wow! Great food. I got the Kabob combo plate. The garlic roasted hummus and spicy chipotle hummus, OMG, Bomb , everything was so delicious. I want to start by saying that no restaurant has ever possessed me to feel I should leave a review either good or bad, but after my absolutely amazing experience at Extreme Hummus, I can think on no other way to honor this establishment than to leave an extremely positive review. My godson and I both had the combo kabab plate, which is one skewer of beef, one skewer of chicken, fragrant rice, salad, soup and hummus. The beef and chicken were juicy and delicious, as was the rice. The salad was good and the soup was amazing. I don't normally enjoy hummus as it tends to be pasty, but, as with everything here, the hummus is made in the restaurant. The gentleman who took my order, (owner I believe) made me spicy cilantro hummus and I ate every bit of it. The people are awesome, the customers are friendly and I'm making this my go-to place for kabob My only regret is that I didn't order another combo plate to have for dinner. Believe me, if you saw the juicy, flavorful, food, you would rush to eat here and once you try it, you'll rush back. By the way, what Extreme Hummus charges for their food is quite a great deal, anywhere else I would expect to pay 8-10 dollars more and I wouldn't get this quality. The lamb/ beef gyro was very meh. Breakdown below. Gyro's have a pretty high bar, as set by other establishments. This place just sadly doesn't reach it. Greens mix 1/5 The greens included on the gyro reminded me of a sysco house salad mix... I convinced myself it was. The Iceberg lettuce and onions were flavorless, and colorless. They should seek a different variety of tomatoes. Not refreshing in the slightest. Tzatziki sauce 2/5 The tzatziki sauce had no flavor, yet the gyro was drenched in it. Unfortunately I told them I love tzatziki sauce when ordering. Not certain if this affected the quantity provided. Pitabread 3/5 Pitabread was not floppy or soggy, despite all the sauce. Great. They also made an effort and did a good making the pita bread with a slightly "crispy" outside. Nonetheless, it came across as dry, and it did not seem fresh. I came in on a sunday... who knows... :-( Fries 1/5 Fries are not authentic or unique in any fashion. Absolutely 0 "spazzaz". They are "matchstick" french fries with 0 seasoning. You can get better seasoned freezer fries from walmart. Gross, couldn't finish them. Gyro lamb/ beef meat. 3/5 I am certain there is higher quality elsewhere. This was the only saving grace for the gyro... I guess. Half way through the gyro, I consumed the remainder of the meat with my plastic fork, and left the rest. It is difficult to not conflate different aspects of the gyro, because each part of it dragged the other parts down. Service speed- 5/5 Wicked fast, not many people inside however. Not much else to review service off of. Mens Bathroom 3/5 Bathroom was jank, and is due for a remodel. Door handle literally flopping/ falling off. Cleanliness was fine. Canned American Soda 4/5 authentic/ house premade mix drink not included in "combo." Unfortunately didn't know this until after paying. Was given the sense it could be any of them, as cashier pointed at mini-fridge indicating choose from there. Slight language barrier there. Single use plastic utensils and water cups for people esting in. What a shame. This meal quality is not worthy of a plastic legacy. Greek/ Mediterranean food is among my favorite, yet I will be spending my money elsewhere, because there is much to be desired, and much to improve. Good luck! read more

My partner and I came to this restaurant on a whim, and ended up feeling shocked that we hadn't considered this place before. When we arrived, I was going over the menu with the man at the front counter, and told him I was considering the beef & lamb plate, but that I had never tried lamb before. He was so friendly and let me try a sample of the meat before ordering it. I loved it and of course ended up ordering the beef & lamb platter. We decided to dine in, and were so impressed when the food came out. They say people eat with their eyes first, which we definitely find to be true. The platter was arranged beautifully, but it was nothing compared to the flavor. The food came out hot and well-seasoned. I had to write this review before even finishing my plate because I feel like this restaurant truly deserves the hype. I don't typically eat a lot of Greek or Mediterranean food...so I'm not sure how it compares to other places...but I did like it a lot and since its close to work...will become a lunch spot that is in my normal rotation. Odd place! It wasn't until we left and drove away that I realized it was the old church's fried chicken complete with drive thru where I used to get fried okra. Weird much! I completely hate ordering at an overhead screen because I'm totally nearsighted! At least they had a printed to go menu. I ordered a beef and lamb gyro with cilantro hummus, a cold coke and a piece of baklava and the falafel plate with chipotle hummus and an iced tea. My iced tea came. We waited. They brought out the food packaged to go even though we had said we were eating in. Crappy plastic forks (the bendy kind) that came in a thousand pack from restaurant depot. The gyro came in a paper tray wrapped in foil. Seemed full enough but was seriously lacking on the tzatziki sauce. The Greek salad in it had purple cabbage and was lacking in dressing. My falafel plate came in a to go box. Four smaller than a golf ball falafel on a giant bed of dry rice, a corner of the takeout container was filled with a weird version of Greek salad with cabbage and o other was filled with spicy chipotle hummus. The takeout container was ridged not smooth and tried to hang onto every drop of the dressing on the salad and every bit of the hummus. I had to resort to using bits of the half pita to try to scrape any flavor and sustenance from those items due to the hideous ridges and dips of the container. I could have really used a knife to cut up the falafel but none was available or offered. My husband did not get his coke or baklava until we asked. They were not on the original order tag despite my restating my order three times.i offered my card to pay for them but they said no, no. Overall.... Food tasty, tea decent though no sweetener on table or offered. Weird service! Weird vibe! Lack of plates or silverware for dine in unacceptable!!! Will NEVER go back. Ps. The bead curtain separating off the bathrooms is just damn weird, difficult for the disabled and off putting, and the toilets have keypad locks that are NOT ADA accessible. Overall a completely weird place with weird vibes and a serious need to make things more welcoming and accessible! read more

I've been wanting to try this place for months, and have just never gotten around to it. I wish I had tried it sooner. My food was amazing, and the prices were definitely fair. I love the convenience of a drive-through, and while my Gyro isn't necessarily meant for eating on the go, that didn't stop me. It was delicious and fresh and exactly what I needed. We went back again for lunch today with company and ate in. As we were looking at the menu we were offered tastes of their many hummus flavors. We had the greek salad, falafel wrap and chicken gyro plate and a side of hummus. We were also given 4 small cups of 4 different hummus'. So generous! We all took home leftovers! Very good Mediterranean food in a location that's been pretty tough for previous restaurants. The service was super nice, menu was pretty typical, they had no issue with accommodating gluten-free needs, and the food tasted great. I have been going to the extreme hummus in Citrus Heights for about a year now and they just recently opened up a new location in Rancho, which is closer to me this place has the best falafel kebab hummus and tzatziki . We always order the kebab combo or just the kebab plate and get the hummus sampler and the baklava is also very very delicious and everybody who works there is always super helpful and very nice and the areas and the locations are always clean and well kept this place is a 20 out of 10 for sure the vibes and the ambience are Awesome. Extreme Hummus catered a family event recently and we were so amazed by the quality and quantity of the food that we had to return a week later for dinner. My kids love the falafel with all of the sauces and hummus. The chicken, gyro, and koobideh are fantastic. Even the salad and baklava are delicious! And you can't go wrong with basmati rice.
