If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I ordered a key fob from them because I lost mine. I called them several times over two weeks. They never once returned my call. One time I called and the person there said there was no record I ever placed an order, even though I had placed a $200 deposit. I gave him my name and number and he said no order had been placed. Mind you, I placed my order the first week of November. It was now the week before Thanksgiving. If I didn't get my key in time, I would not be able to see my family for Thanksgiving. Well, let's just say I had a terrible Thanksgiving. I ended up calling a different locksmith and they got my key to me in two hours. Don't waste you time with this place. read more

We lost our key fob while visiting from out of town and needed a replacement asap. The reviews on Yelp are true - don't expect a call back. I had to follow up with them the following day after not getting the call back that was promised. I had reached out to a few locksmiths on Facebook marketplace and was told I could possibly need 2 key fobs to get the car going... when I mentioned this on my first call to extra, I was told that wouldn't be the case. Surprise surprise - a second fob was needed and a 300$ fob turned into nearly $600. The manager Skylar made it seem like an inconvenience that his tech was out there waiting on us to decide and then completely ghosted us after the tech said he would return with another key. An hour later I still hadn't received a call. I called again. The man apologized and said I would get a call from the technician within moments. It's now Sunday at 9:05 and I never received a call. Locked key in 2020 Toyota Camry. Called roadside service and all they did was open the car door and set off alarm. They could not get into the trunk. It was a rental and due back in hours with personal belongings locked in trunk. Rental company just wanted to tow it. and ship belongings a week later. If you do not know, a 2020 Camry trunk is basically a safe if you do not have the transponder. The alram prevents the trunk to open from inside. The back seat latch is located in the trunk to ensure the trunk is safe from theft. I called Extra lockmith and they felt confident they could solve it. Extra locksmith was able to get there quick. Once on site the awesome technician worked his magic to defeat the "Camry trunk safe." And fast. Amazing! Made the flight and retunred car on time. read more

Usually don't make an effort to write google reviews, but here is an exception. I called Extra Locksmith for some help to get back into my car. They said they could come for $75. I asked if there was any flexibility on price, as I am a student have very little disposable income. They said the lowest we can do is $65. Not impressed, I inquired further but he told me that there was no more room for negotiation. I agreed to talk to the on-call driver, and the driver asked me what the agreed price was. I told him that the lowest the dispatcher would go is $65, but would appreciate some more understanding seeing that the expense would literally jeopardize shopping for groceries. The driver was very understanding and said he would go to bat for me to get the price lower from the dispatcher. Very appreciative, I waited to hear back from the driver. However, the dispatcher called me back and said, in a very aggressive manor, "Hey I don't appreciate you trying to negotiate further on the price with the driver and I find it to be very disrespectful." Almost shocked that the dispatcher called to scold me, I immediately said that I will take my business elsewhere. Luckily, I came in contact with The Lock Ninja. Wow, what a business. They came and unlocked my car within 25 minutes for less than HALF the price AND I didn't have to juggle talking with different parties. Overall, I am disappointed by the extreme lack of professionalism by Extra Locksmith. This is a business. You are capitalizing on people's misfortune, and need to address the way you structure your pricing negotiations. But, more than anything - train your employees to contain their emotions. read more

I post this to hopefully save someone else from 2.5 months of lost time. This company is absolutely awful with communication, showing up for appointments, and following through on their promises/agreements. I initially called the first week in August to get replacement car keys for our two vehicles. We were quoted a price, and they would be available in a week. Every time I called, I got a different story. We scheduled twice for them to come, and no one ever came., Eventually, I was given the manager's number. He promised to take care of this personally. NO FOLLOW UP - ever. Sometimes I would be able to get him to reply by text, and all I was given was excuses. Then, over the past three weeks, I have called and called both numbers they have listed for both offices and NO ONE will call me back. They have an answering service and tell me they are passing the message on, but NO one ever calls back. Save yourself time and money and go with another company from the get-go. read more

One of the WORST experiences I've had with a company. I called out a technician and ended up having to cancel while he was on his way out due to an emergency and they were EXTREMELY RUDE. One of the guys running the service desk then LIED about how much the pricing was, changing the prices on me last second to get a key changed as well. we were traveling to utah in our trailer. Yikes- we were leaving for a wedding function and realized both sets of keys were inside the Airstream. July 27. Vlad arrived very quickly. He is the most amazing young man. With a short time he had us inside our trailer. He is resourceful--he asked if any other Airstreams were in the park so he could look at their key. Vlad is very considerate & conscientious---he was very careful so he wouldn't scratch or damage the trailer. Vlad is persistent, he was determined not to give up until he complete the job. After reading good reviews on Yelp, we called Extra Locksmith to change locks on 6 doors in our newly purchased home. They sent their employee Shawn (very nice/helpful man) to assess our needs and make a proposal. Shawn proposed 3 key pads and 3 locks to rekey for approx $827, plus tax. We only needed 2 keypads, but he said a third would be only $50 more and would provide better security. He asked for a 50% credit card deposit and called Skylar to take our deposit, which we gave to Skylar. They promised to return the following week to change the locks as we told them we would be leaving town. They did not return to do the work as scheduled because they said they didn't have the parts. Shawn then came the next day, albeit about 2 hours later than scheduled, which also was now the afternoon before we had to leave town. While Shawn was working, we discovered that he had brought only 2 key pads, he forgot the batteries (but would go back to office to get them), and the hardware did not match existing. He promised to swap out for correct hardware when new parts arrived to their shop a few weeks later. In meantime, Skylar called and quizzed us about what Shawn was doing and told us that he was going to fire Shawn (and other unsolicited personal information about Shawn's personal life and job performance), even as Shawn was in our home working. We urged him not to do that, and to work with us to complete the job as agreed. Shawn left the job after partial installation of one key pad, apparently to get the batteries that he had forgotten. When he left, the key pad was not working, and the dead bolt was not working properly. We called Skylar, who told us that he and Shawn would return later that afternoon to finish the work. Skylar then called to say that they had tried, but were unable to return that afternoon. He then said he would return the following morning before we left town. Skylar then called again to say that he had a bigger $15,000 job the next morning and would not be able to come back that next morning. We asked him if he could come earlier morning to complete the work that the company had agreed to do and for which it had collected over $400 from us as a deposit. He said he would not do that, and he argued with us and blamed Shawn, telling us that they had underbid the job, should have charged us a lot more, and then tried to renegotiate the price to complete the work, accusing us of taking advantage of him. When we balked and asked him to do what the company had agreed to do, he said he would rather return our money and leave us with the 2 key pads he had left behind. Extra Locksmith has not done the work it promised to do; it has not refunded any of our money; and it has refused our request for the name and number of a responsible person from the company, other than to refer to someone else named Nathan, last name unknown. As we followed up and asked Skylar whether the company would honor its commitment to do the work or return the money it took as a deposit from us, he was belligerent and insulting to us, blaming us for the company's non-performance and taking no responsibility for any of the commitments it made to us. read more
