HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Do not bring your car here or give them your business. I had gotten my oil changed here before, which was also slow took about an hour. I went in for an oil change today at 4:30 and they said those take 45 mins, which is incorrect. No one was there, so I thought he was going to be like sure we got you! Absolutely not. Went up the road to Take 5 Oil by human bean on McFarland and was out of there by 5pm and received three services, which is when the other place closes. Simply could have completed the service within 30 mins. The worker seemed like he did not want to be there nor was welcoming whatsoever. DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Jackson the manager is who I talked to. You guys are very unprofessional. I am filing this complaint against Extra Mile Tire & Service regarding negligent service performed on my 2021 BMW 530i, which I believe ultimately resulted in severe engine damage. Shortly after having my oil changed at Extra Mile Tire & Service, my vehicle began displaying a warning message indicating that I needed to add a quart of oil. Since I had just recently had the oil changed, I found this unusual and returned to the shop. The staff added a quart of oil and sent me on my way. Several weeks later, the same warning appeared again, indicating that another quart of oil needed to be added. At that point, I knew something was wrong because a properly serviced vehicle should not continuously lose oil in such a short period of time. I then took my vehicle to BMW for a diagnostic inspection. BMW informed me that my vehicle had an oil leak and advised me to return to the company that had most recently changed my oil because there appeared to be an issue related to the prior oil service. BMW provided me with written diagnostic documentation regarding the oil leak. I returned to Extra Mile Tire & Service with BMW's diagnostic report and attempted to resolve the matter. Instead of investigating the issue or taking responsibility, management immediately became hostile and denied responsibility. During the encounter, the manager repeatedly claimed that he knew me and had previously told me not to return to the business. I informed him that he had mistaken me for someone else and that I had never met him before. Multiple employees present corrected the manager and advised him that I was not the individual he was referring to. Despite this, his behavior continued to escalate. I felt threatened by the manager's conduct and feared for my safety. As a result, I contacted law enforcement and requested police assistance. I explained to the responding officers that my vehicle had been damaged and that the business was refusing to address the issue. I also informed officers that the business refused to provide ownership information or corporate contact information. The business was uncooperative with both myself and the responding officers. As a result of the unresolved oil leak, my vehicle ultimately suffered catastrophic engine failure, leaving me without reliable transportation and facing significant repair costs. Extra Mile Tire & Service was the last company to perform an oil service on this vehicle before the leak was discovered. read more

AND added a $250 charge for replacing air filters, a service NOT requested that I had did myself, truly a RIPOFF!!! Then had the brass to say that the Sienna b rought in for an emissions test needed a water pump, though the local Toyota dealer had replaced it less than two months ago. Wasted 2 and 1/2 hours at the dealer that afternoon to find out their 'exam' was BOGUS. One visit they called and said they were done. Showed up and they weren't. Hadn't even started the emissions inspection part which was the main purpose before their suggested items. Always upselling including on items recently fixed. On another visit, they suggested tire rotation on 2 year old car without looking at the car. Maybe a good practice, I don't know, but indicative. I was handing them the key and they hadn't even been outside. Another time they recommended replacing swollen lug nuts that were on recall and would have been done for free at Honda but naturally they wouldn't say that. This shop takes advantage of the elderly. My 89 year old mother went in for an oil change and was told her R&R Variable Timing Solenoid (VTS) was bad. No service light or OBD2 codes to support the diagnosis. If the solenoid was bad the service engine would be on. The solenoid is inside the engine and requires many hours to replace. She was quoted $800. I advised against and to go with the oil change only. The service writer was not happy. Two years later still no problem with the VTS. Avoid this shop or get a second opinion. read more

I've was going here since it was called "Back on the Road". It was great back then and you could tell since the parking lot was always full. Now it's pretty empty with probably only people who are about to find out why. All of the staff I have interacted with are very friendly, that's definitely not the problem. It's just the business practices that have put me off. There is some upselling, which is a smart business practice, but the way they were trying to upsell me made no sense, like changing every fluid in the car at ~23K miles saying that the manufacturer recommends it (they thought it was really not necessary for most of the fluids except the brake and oil fluids, which the computer tells you about). Trying to sell me wiper blades again, which were just changed a few months ago (they were actually not even changed). I got better service and value from Advance Auto Parts on that. It makes me wonder if any of those fluids were even changed. I've since started using my local dealership now. They only do what is asked for, legitimately needed (they will show you), and charge fair prices. read more

I guess he thought that I was gonna pay $10,000 for the estimate that he gave me of a whole bunch of service stuff that I didn't ask for and then when I got to the location and humbly told these men that I'm in a hotel, I'm single and I'm literally giving you my last they tried to charge me over for labor and there was nothing done to my car but driven for 10 minutes then he tried to charge me 190 some dollars they told me he was doing me a favor and took off $10 to where it came to 159 out of the $160 that I had left to leave me a dollar in my account then disrespectfully I told these man how I was making my money and having to stay to get my money, and these may steal disrespectfully did not look out for me knowing that they basically got over on pricing for me. A horrible and VERY expensive place. I needed back brake pads. I was given a quote of $850. which included a "fluid flush". Issue #1 is that I needed front AND back brake pads. Issue #2 I was also advised that I needed a "fluid flush". The flush was just an added nice TIP I guess to be charged. I decided to go elsewhere. The "flush" was totally unnecessary. My car is new and only has 47k miles on it. The fluid was totally fine upon inspection by the shop that did the work. I walked away with front and back pads for $584. BEWARE!!! Never had to write a review like this ...Have been going here for over 18 years(since it was called Back on the Road) Went 2 weeks ago and noticed no faces were familiar. Told them my vehicle had overheated. "Angel" at the desk had the guys look at my vehicle and called a couple hours later to tell me that the radiator hoses both needed to be replace. He stated they were deteriorated and leaking. $581 to replace and flush system. I Called someone my son uses and they quoted me $230 for the same thing. I went to the other shop (3 miles north) and they told me the hoses were not damaged at all and the clip on top hose came loose. They tightened it for me for no charge and I was on my way. The folks are all very friendly and helpful. I wasn't sure what was up with the brakes, so they bled the brake lines and flushed the fluid. After taking it for a short drive, they returned the truck to me. Honestly, it didn't feel any different afterward, and they told me that they had to push the brake down to the floor. I know. This is why I wanted to have things checked out. For $200, I expected more. I explained that I had just filled the brake fluid so naturally it was still clean and then they tell me that there wasn't really much air in the line. So why charge me $200 for that?! It stops, but if you have a vehicle for years, you know when something is off. I wish they had recommended investigating more to find the real problem. read more

I took my vehicle to a Toyota dealership for service. To determine the required maintenance, we reviewed the maintenance performed by Extra Mile. The comment from the Toyota service coordinator was "you don't do that work at that mileage." That work include a radiator flush and a transmission flush. There was no compelling need to perform those services - I use the vehicle under normal driving conditions. So my feeling is I was sold services that were not required. Absolute scammers. This is the first negative review I've ever left on my Yelp account. I have truly never had such a bad experience with a company in my life. My parents used to frequent Extra Mile many years ago, so when my car first started leaking antifreeze in 2021, I drove 30 minutes to bring my car into their shop. Well, as all the other one stars have mentioned, they've changed drastically. Our first appointment there, we were told we needed a new radiator and hoses. The estimate wasn't cheap, but we were forced to trust them as we were leaving on a road trip to Ohio the following morning. We pick up the car the next day and begin our drive after we were assured the car was tested multiple times and the issue was resolved. Thankfully my husband thought to check our coolant halfway through and it was gone. I was shocked. We ended up having to stop the car every 30 minutes and refill. I called Extra Mile the next day and was told they'd pay for an inspection in OH... which they never ended up fulfilling, of course. The mechanic in OH told us the hoses were installed incorrectly and we likely never needed a new radiator. On the way home, our car continued to leak. We drove straight to Extra Mile where we were once again told it was fixed. We have been back 2 more times over the years for our leak. I never would have returned, but we were told our car was under warranty. We went back a few weeks ago after being assured we were still covered. When we went to pick up the car, we were handed a $150 bill. They NEVER asked for our approval to do the work and made us believe the service would be free. When I tried to express my confusion, I was lied to and told my husband had already approved it. Little did they know he was sitting in the car next to me. We were forced to pay the price to pick up our car.. and guess what... it's STILL leaking today. Stay away from this company. Literally so unbelievably God awful. I took my car in for service C (oil change, maintenance work) and my car was completely f***ed after. They messed up the gas gauge so I couldn't see how much gas was in my tank it just permanently had 0 bars (I filled my car twice to make sure it wasn't actually empty), they also ripped the roof upholstery of my car so now it dangles down!!! I am so livid they ruined the interior, they also broke my seat, now when I sit in it, the seat sinks and clanks (I'm only 115 lbs) and it wasn't like this before. They also moved my personal belongings around my car and it looks like somebody was tearing and searching through my personal items. I feel like I got ripped off for 2 grand because they only made things worse. Now to top it all off - MY CAR WON'T START !!!! They completely f***ed me over and ran away with my money. I have been a customer of this establishment since it opened. When Tim was the General Manager and before the current owner. They were trustworthy and part of the community. I recommended it to many people over the years. I can not say that now. I called to get a quote on 2 and 4 tires for my daughters car and the quote was $580 and $1096 respectively and that was without instillation. It seemed kind of expensive so I checked online at www.extramiletireandservice.com and a few other places To my surprise and disappointment they were trying to charge me double what I was quoted on their own website. Used to be a good place to take our vehicles since its inception 12 years and three name changes ago. Lately, not so much. Their website claim they can " fix everything, all makes and models" I'll call out B.S. on that claim. They charged me $90.00 for a check engine diagnostic and told me to take may car to another shop 10 miles away; This was a first. Not only that, but the invoice made no mention nor made any reference to what the diagnostic revealed. I drove two miles up the road and found a competent shop that said they could have the repair done in four days, and gave us a nice loaner vehicle. It may not be not a good idea to come here after 4:30 pm. I overheard 2 of the staff complaining about whether they should still be taking customers at that time vs. having the right to turn them away. Also, if you get an oil change they will say that they do a fluid check, but I'm not sure they always do. After my oil change (and the supposed fluid check) I checked them myself at home and the brake fluid was low and needed to be filled, and the transmission fluid was low and very dirty. Given that, I find it hard to believe that they'd actually checked the fluids during my oil change as promised. Maybe that's because I was there later in the afternoon. read more

I ended up having to pick up my car after hours. When I received my invoice, I had some questions. Let me tell you why you should never give your business to this terrible company. Back in September our car broke down and we had it towed to their shop. There was about $800-900 worth of work we needed to do and Bill seemed like a halfway decent guy and listed out a bunch of things we needed to fix beyond what we came for. Some of it we new was inevitable and he even took us out to his car - the exact same model as ours - and said quote "your has an easy extra 100k miles in it if you do this work" so we though sure let's be proactive. Well that turned out to be a huge waste of money. No less than a month and a half later the car stalls out and we take it back. After spending over $2k you'd think it wouldn't have ANY problems. Well we come to find out their "expert" analysis said the head gasket was screwed and said we would need to buy a new car. After multiple calls and many days later I eventually talk to the manager who babbles about nothing and after asking multiple times of Me asking how much it would cost to repair I never got an answer. Great customer service. So we end up taking the car to another mechanic and find out everything is 100% fine and the only fix needed was replacing the spark plugs. Costs $240 - we fix it - car runs just like new. Once we found that out it took many more weeks to get a hold of their team to discuss this in person. We finally meet in person and their manager was incredibly rude and kept talking about a bunch of bullshit during our conversation. He blatantly lied during our conversation saying the head gasket was blown and failed a block test. How did I know? Easy, I called up the other trustworthy mechanic and had him discuss everything he tested and diagnosed correctly on our car. He said it passed the block test with flying colors. That finally got the shitty manager to cave and after almost an hour he finally agreed to refund us $100 which was the only thing deserving of a one star review for them. Needless to say don't ever trust them they are completely full of shit they will lie to your face and are a joke of a company. Don't waste your time go elsewhere, trust my word. Where do we start with the issues taking our truck to this place caused? If short on time read #3 1. Took it to get 4 brand new tires balanced and aligned. The shimmy that should dissappear at high speed with a proper balance persists and has not been fixed. 2. They removed our rim cap and never replaced it. Had to return to the store to get it back, only to find out it was lost, and they had to buy us another one. ***3. They tell my husband, who was all supportive of them bc the manager is a Marine as well, that our CV axle needed replacement and it was bad... selling him a several hundred dollar part plus labor. Guess what... Our car does NOT EVEN HAVE A CV AXLE. It's a different drive train that does, but they insisted they checked the CV axle and it needed replacement IMMEDIATELY. They're crooks and it's sad bc had we not been car folks we'd have paid them the money for the part and labor for a part that isn't even on our car. It's crazy. Needless to say we'll never return here after buying an oil change package and taking the car their many times and each time leaving with MORE problems than we began with. read more

As the daughter of a well respected mechanic from a busy northern town, I feel I am uniquely qualified to write a review! As well as obligated! Being new to town we weren't certain where to go for auto maintenance and repairs. We have three cars, one of which is driven by our teenage son (to give you an idea of the wear and tear on that car, it being a 2004 Expedition!). Friends of ours said to take it to Extra Mile. Here we are a few years later and feeling more satisfied than ever! It seems word of mouth travels quickly for negative feedback, however, their service is so extraordinary, I had to write a review. The gentlemen at EM are honest, hard working, reliable and know exactly what your car needs. They often will give recommendations as to what needs maintenance now and what can be stretched for a bit. The amount of volume that you can see there no matter what time of day speaks as to their service (take note, between 11-2 is their busiest time for oil changes. Come in a little earlier or later to avoid the rush!)! Their tire insurance program alone is well worth a visit there! Their prices beat Costco and many other tire shops. My father had incredibly high standards in his shop. Not only treating his customers with respect and honesty but also by being reliable. It is not lightly that I hold EM to my fathers shop. I feel like family there. I trust they don't take advantage because I'm a woman or I send our teenage son there alone to get his oil changed. If Bill or Justin say the fluids should be changed, we change them! I know they would not sell us something unless needed for the well being of our cars. If this sounds oddly personal, that is absolutely by design! That Expedition is carrying my children around everyday! My husband has a long commute to work every day, and we need and love for him to come home safely ever day! I travel for work and need my car to be reliable and safe as well. I like to come home each day and be with my family! It is such a wonderful confident feeling every day we all go our separate ways that my family and I are safe! When it comes to our cars, that responsibility falls into the hands of the men at EM! I couldn't ask for anyone better qualified! I have used Extra Mile multiple times over the years since they started. They have been great...until this last repair. I had some engine noises and overheating that occurred on an older Lexus RX 350. I paid over $1400 for these items to be fixed and ended up overheating and getting towed back to shop within a few hours. Had an event and a trip planned. Had to cancel both. I was assured that it was 100%. Clearly incorrect. Since it was a Friday..the car had to stay over weekend as they are closed. The manager named Alex ( he wouldn't give me his last name) told me on Wednesday that it was a defective part. When I asked about any relief from the bill of $1400, he simply said "none". I said after 10yrs with all of my vehicles AND my kids vehicles.::he didn't care and walked off. Is this any way to treat a loyal customer? The repairs were over 2k and granted, I should have checked around at other repair shops, they really screwed me on the price of the parts. Now I am well aware that auto repair shops mark up the price of the parts they install by 50 or 60% to make a profit, but a 100% + markup is absolutely absurd! After finding that prices online for the parts that were installed were hundreds of dollars less, I called a different local repair shop and received a much lower quote with the parts being a fraction of what I was charged at Extra Mile. This is price gouging plain and simple. If you can easily part with your money, then by all means, let Extra Mile take you for a ride. read more

We came here to get our car fixed after breaking down. They said if we fixed everything wrong with the car (about $2000 worth of work), my car would have another 100k miles of life left in it with regular maintenance. Well, less than 2 months later, I tried to turn on my car and it wouldn't start at all. We got it towed back here and they called me later in the week and they said my car was not drivable and I needed to buy a new car! We then got it towed to a different mechanic, and after a thorough inspection he told us that all it needed were new spark plugs. Car runs great. We go back to Extra Mile and they tell us that even though the car is running great, it failed the block test so it was only a matter of time until it broke down again. Well, we then got two additional block tests and the car passed with flying colors. We feel mislead and taken advantage of. We sent my son to get his emission testing for his Honda there and he was sold a list of things to his car. With discounts the bill was 661 dollars and it was mostly for car fluids. I stopped them from doing more to the car when I saw they called after the services were done. We had used this shop for many services but we always assisted our son because he has Asperger's and has difficulty in public places. We trusted Extra mile to just do the emissions for his tag renewal. They will sell to anyone...they are not about integrity and they took advantage of an Autism spectrum young man trying to do something by himself... Please do not use this business!!!!
