New to the Roswell/Alpharetta areas and I lack the knowledge of the better service providers here. Stumbled onto Honest-1 (H1) on the Internet via Google Maps and read a lot of comments entered by good folks. After 200+ comments, I had a good idea, more than necessary actually, of the commitment H1 displays towards its customers. Had my 2013 Nissan Frontier towed in by Super Tow & Transport (770) 317-3719 (a shout-out to them) and H1 had my vehicle running like new at the end of the day. Very disrespectful staff, was met with unwarranted aggression when I came in to my appointment after asking about timeline for the repair. Ended up walking out when the worker tried to escalate things. Here's a full breakdown of what happened: Came one one day to get a windshield wiper fluid sensor replaced under warranty, was told it would be a couple of hours but I could reschedule to a day in the following week so that they could get to the repair right away. When I came to the scheduled time time I asked if the repair would be complete within a few hours and the manager (i assume, guy with gray hair) started berating with me about how that's impossible and treated me like I was an idiot for asking such a thing. They showed their true stripes... exceptionally so! My out-of-town relative heard an odd troubling sound in her car. Briefly, I took it here, they pointed out to me that her plastic "dust shield" beneath the engine compartment was dragging making the suspect noise. He said he could handle it and did so within 10 minutes... no charge. Mind you, I have never been there. This was for an out-of-town person not likely to be back. They adhered to the Golden Rule to the max! They could have gouged me for any number of reasons, but instead did the right thing. Ourselves, we have been in Roswell 40+ years and have a trusted mechanic. Our mechanics' long backlog speaks to their also fine reputation. Took my car for an oil change, plus they did a service check for other items which I did not have it serviced for 2 years. I appreciated the email of items and pictures that was sent, then they followed up with a phone call and detail description and price for each. Did not feel pressured to do the other repairs but I knew it was needed. They made a quick turn around with repairs was off to my next appointment on time. My Nissan Altima drives and moves so much better now. You could not sit and wait, I walked to a nearby restaurant but no one was available for pickup so I had to walk back as well. would never recommend this honest care location. I had an issue with my oil pressure gauge, and the mechanics recommended I spend $3000+ replacing the entire oil system. The next day I took it to another mechanic and the oil pressure sensor needed to be replaced. it cost me $100 and I haven't had issues since. Do not take your vehicle to this shop. Incredible knowledge and expertise. I made a mistake and took my Truck to a dealership. They gave me thew run around for weeks to fix a oil leak and charged a large amount but did not resolve the problem. Dennis and Jordan immediately located the issue and was able to repair in such a short time. EVERYONE BEWARE OF THIS SHOP. I was out of town travelling when my car engine began acting funny. I took it to Honest-1 who immediately stated I needed a new engine totaling $8,000 in parts alone. I decided I would have the car towed back to my home mechanic, it cost me $400 to have the car transported, and another $250 to rent a car to return home to Florida. My local mechanic repaired the car completely in 9 minutes, a fuse had "somehow" been removed. Upon confrontation, Honest-1 stated they would call us back, and never did. They now wont answer the phone. My home mechanic says theres no way fuses just "dissapear". This shop is very dishonest and took advantage of a single mother with 3 children, costing over $650 just to get the car home. read more

Amazing service. They were able to service my car in a very short wait time. Chuck offered great customer service and was able to push my claim through with my insurance company. The claim process usually takes some time with insurance holding things up. However, this wasn't the case for me at Honest-1 Auto Care. Found my mechanic up here. The owner Dennis and his team went out of their way to ensure I was happy. I wasn't sure about something so he told me to come into the shop while my car was on the lift and explained everything in detail before, during and after fixing it. No tricks or added charges. They even warned of some things I may need to address in the future without pressuring me to get those done this visit, which is a rarity these days. I also met some locals who also swear by this shop so that made me feel even better about my decision. 10/10 would recommend to everyone. They really go above and beyond. read more

I came here for the first time today for an oil change and tire rotation on my 2016 Camry. The staff were very friendly. I made an appointment which I recommend doing as they were definitely very swamped, however for a typical Saturday morning(busy for any service or auto rear shop on a Saturday) they finished servicing my car in a reasonable amount of time. Well, I have been going to Honest 1 for over 10 years now. My jeep just turned 10 years old and Honest 1 has kept it driving as good as the day I drove it off the lot. We took my husband's 2010 Camaro to this place for a tuneup after having a new transmission installed up the road, because the transmission place couldn't do it and we didn't want to drive it too far before it was worked on. They wanted more than $1,000 for a non-warranty item, even quoting a mechanics-only statement from Chevrolet in order to support their argument. Having just been to two different mechanics and having spent around $3,000 on the transmission, I smelled a rat. At my insistence, we drove it to the Chevrolet dealership in Cumming, and they told us that there was basically nothing wrong with the car! The Camaro didn't even need a tuneup yet. In fact, the info sheet that was quoted by Honest-1 had nothing whatsoever to do with the Camaro. They used it to try to trick my husband into buying their story. They were apparently very disappointed / angry to learn that he would be taking his car elsewhere, and tried to talk him out of it. They still charged more than $200 to put the car back together. Honest-1 are a bunch of crooks. Any business that has the word "honest" right in their name is bound to be anything but. Honestly, stay far away from these people. They tried to make a bad situation for us even worse. I couldn't hate them more. read more

I have a 1996, Ford Bronco that sat in my garage for a few years. I finally got around to getting it back on the road and I needed someone to take a look at the engine. I took it to Honest 1 Auto Care of Roswell and they gave me a full , very detailed report of every item that needed addressing, along with video explanation and a phone calls to discuss. They let me know what needed immediate attention and what could wait. I was not in a situation to handle everything at once so they pointed out the major items and let me know what I could come back to in the future. The techs were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about every aspect of the job. I picked the car up yesterday and it drives great. You would never know it had close to 300,000 miles on it. Beware going here. Last time I brought my car in for plugs and wires and the technician cracked half the plugs and forgot to change one. Gave them a second chance, brought my car in for brakes and oil change. Took 5 hours to change the oil and referred me to the dealership for the brakes. They did however recommend multiple additional non related repairs. Upon taking my car to the dealership, the dealership advised half the recommended repairs were not necessary and the ones that were turned out to be much cheaper at the dealership. I.e. 450 to change transmission fluid and filter. Was 100 cheaper at dealership for the same service. This used to be a good shop. Used them for many years. Past year or so it has gone waaaaaay downhill. read more

My wife and I went here for a quick oil change and to be honest, was met with a very condescending service writer. He reprimanded us for not having an appointment, which we understood and apologized, and said we could come back another time. However, the service writer was still able to slide us in. The oil change was completed; however, I a little upset to find the oil level was at factory minimum specs. I had to go back and ask for some additional oil. They weren't happy about it, but they did as I asked. However, I was quite frustrated to find that they told my wife is was being over cautious and that I shouldn't have needed to ask. When the United Automotive shop behind Honest-1 closed, I was so disappointed because in the owner, Alan, I had finally found an honest auto mechanic. Then later, my second auto place, Merlin's, that is located where Honest-1 is now closed. So I was very happy to receive a letter from Alan telling me he was now working at a new business, Honest-1. When the driver's side interior door handle broke off and I was having to roll down the window to let myself out of my car, I knew just where to take it for repairs. Over the phone, Alan quoted me approximately $100-200 for the door handle, depending on whether the parts had dropped down into the door or not. Yes, it's a lot, but undoubtedly far less than Toyota. I called another repair shop and was given roughly the same price, so I went ahead with Honest-1. The owner was there. I mentioned that I was just able to get out of my car using the door handle, so the parts were probably still attached, and asked them to please be careful so I didn't have to pay the $200. The owner was very responsive and spoke with one of the mechanics about it. The wait in the waiting room was actually pleasant -- clean, cool, comfortable and free WiFi. They had free cans of soft drinks and pretzels. Who does that? Wow. They also would have given me a courtesy drop off and pick up at my home had I not wanted to wait. It took just an hour for repairs. The owner charged me only about $100, and for that price they also checked other things (like brakes) and gave me the status of them. I was bracing for "here comes the hard sell" like I'd get at the dealership, but I was told everything else was fine. And I get in my car and they had actually left a thank you card signed by the mechanic and an accompanying baggie of wintergreen Lifesavers tied with a ribbon. No kidding. This is really as good as a business can get. The work is good, and customer service is outstanding. I'm so thankful they've opened and that I now have a honest mechanic to go to again. read more

Top of the line work done here. I have been her at least 5 times now, three times for basic oil changes, and not once have I heard "Oh, you need to have your radiator flushed" or "your you need new break pads" (which I heard elsewhere once when I had gotten a new set only 3 weeks earlier). Twice I have need a repair of one kind or another and each time they do everything right, explain what they will have to do and give a good guestimate BEFORE going deep into the work (when possible). And like kikoolol said, their waiting room has the usual TV, and also free snacks and soda/water (I keep suggesting they add wine, but it has not happened yet) and free wifi for your laptop or use their computer and internet they have set up in there. read more

Long overdue reviews! Best mechanics in the town! LOL yes, reviewed by an Asian female driver. They are honest, extremely helpful, professional and personal! They will honestly inform you what is " Necessary" to have and what is "Good" to have. My first encounter was one year ago when my catalytic converter triggered my check engine light on. I was quoted 1-2 k in various repair stores when mechanics here informed me that they shall brush dusts first before they reached any conclusion. So they brushed off the dust, turned off the check light and charged me $0 for the service. You know what, the problem did not come back again! I appreciate how the mechanics here genuinely try to help customers out. In addition to be extremely helpful, people here are very personal and friendly. My second visit was due to a minor tire issues. I came in with the expectation of fixing all but the mechanics told me I only need to repair one. As I had a doctor's appointment in 2 hour, he even offered to get the component himself instead of waiting for it to be delivered. The whole service took him a few min and he charged me nothing but the fee for the components. I was very impressed with how professional and personal he was so I offered to tip him which he kindly declined ( A funny story though, the store manager seems to quote me a higher price than the mechanic did, twice.) I trust all the people here so I really hope it is just an minor error. Overall, I trust all the mechanics here who I truly believe are honest, professional and personal. read more

This repair shop came very highly recommended as a lot of our neighbors have had work done here. I am extremely disappointed with the service and professionalism of the staff here. They miss multiple aspects of the safety check and only caught them after doing the test drive after completing the work. They also promised a 1.5-2hr delivery and it took 3.5hrs to get the work done and then wanted to keep it an additional 1.5-2hrs to fix the mistakes they missed on the safety check. They forgot to change the light bulbs as requested and would have forgotten the oil if I handed reminded them 2.5hrs into waiting. They certainly have lost my business and I hope you think twice before believing their promises about time or the true safety of your vehicle. read more

I can't say enough good things about Honest One and the team there. I've been a customer for 2 or 3 years, and they are always fair, courteous, and incredibly competent. I've been to shops where everything you say gets dismissed or ignored (especially when you're a woman), or places where I wasn't sure I was getting only the service I needed. But I've also been lucky in my life to find a few shops that really inspired confidence and trust. These guys top the list. You can count on Dennis and his crew to shoot straight with you. After several adventures with my "possessed" Accord over many months, Conrad told me, "We could probably track down and maybe fix this new problem, but you'd be better off putting the money into your next car." They could have made $1200, but instead they gave me the truth. Alan and Jordan go above and beyond to treat customers right. They checked over my new used vehicle, and the only problem they told me to address was the dry rot on the tires (even though they could have claimed I needed other service). The technicians are friendly and prompt with their high-quality work. And I have never once seen Tom fail to smile and offer good cheer. They drop you off and pick you up so that you can do your own work while they do theirs. And when a mistake happens, they fix it. Today I took my car in to have the A/C checked. The weather finally turned warm this week and I switched it on to find only warm air awaiting me. They did a purge & recharge before discovering that a plug to the compressor had stopped connecting adequately. They replaced it with a fixed connection and dropped the car off at my office for me. That alone would have been awesome. But when I asked how much, they said, "There's some possibility that we accidentally damaged the plug in doing your timing belt replacement a couple weeks ago. No charge." These guys are the real deal. If you're in the area and need a shop, this is the one to pick. read more
