I reupped with a used Mercedes and the check engine light came on the day after I took it home. He was able to work with me and dealt with the warranty place. I was amazed by the thorough, hands on diagnostics Steve performed to get to the heart of a hard to find issue with my 2012 F150 Ecoboost. Contrast this with the results from a dealership I had taken it to that simply looked up a diagnostic code and recommended that I replace everything their manual noted the problem could be. Brandon has really done a great job on several things with my car, he installed my new brembos brakes, welded up an old header, and an alignment. The alignment took a few hours and they even kept the shop open late to finish the job because I came in right as they were closing. And after all that work only charged me $85!!!! I've paid other shops for the same amount of work upwards of $250, and I left those places less satisfied because it wasn't on point. I brought in an old header that had a crack in the weld, most shops would use a mig welder which looks sloppy, he used a tig I can't even tell it was there. Brandon installed an aftermarket brembo brake kit from a Acura TL-S onto my 07 civic si he did an outstanding job drilling the knuckle to fit a larger bolt, trimming the heat shield, and installing the new brake master cylinder. read more

When I took my truck in Steve took the time to put it on a lift, diagnosis my trouble and show me what was causing it. I've never - in 30+ years of driving had a mechanic show that level of service and care. I was sure I would be without my truck for at least a couple days - he got it back to me within 24 hrs.! Terrible communication and unprofessionalism by Steve, and beating around the bush for MONTHS while the car is still at the shop NOT fixed yet, but actually running worse than it was when it was dropped off MONTHS AGO. mind you the car is not fixed and he said the bill is going to be $3700, which was more than the initial estimate, now Steve says that he will no longer work on the car because he doesn't want to spend any more time on it and doesn't know how to fix the issue at hand (i have recorded audio and messages to prove it). The car is STILL NOT FIXED!!! but yet he wants to charge $3700 for a job that is NOT completed. Terrible shop, and terrible owner. I Don't know how this place is still in business. Great Price and Service! Steve took care of my issue where my window was not rolling down on my driver side. He also gave me a great price to get it fixed and it works well. He also pointed out any thing my car did or didn't need maintance and showed me in person what those were. So, ever since I moved to a condominium, I no longer have garage spaces anymore. When I called about an A/C issue, I was told to wait for a couple of hours and bring my car at 4:30pm. When I drove there in rush hour traffic, I was told they could not service my car since they had other jobs to finish. I understand that things could happen but they could have respected my time and called me when they realized they could not work on my car. I asked if they could at least check to see if it was a minor issue and they completely refused. So disrespectful of my time and effort! Btw- I then called the highly rated Mings Auto Repair. They too were busy before closing time on Friday evening, but promised to check what was wrong. I drove 40 minutes to get to them. They checked, fixed my car and even did an oil change and I was out in 10 mins. What a contrast in customer service! read more

This shop is very dishonest. The mechanics worked on my car without a diagnostic and lied to me about it. Also they charged me for an oil change and did not change my oil. I spent 900.00 at this shop and my check engine light is still on. The owner Steve is a dishonest person. He lied to me once the work had been completed. I've been going to this place for my car repairs since 2011. The current owner, Steve, is awesome! He is a great guy and the first truly honest mechanic I've come across in a long time. His repairs are reasonably priced. And... He goes out of his way to help his customers: I recently sold my car to another North Point customer. On the way to make the sale, the A/C gave out. He fixed a freon leak and replaced the panel to the A/C controls. In order to minimize the financial impact and make sure both customers were happy with the sale, he only charged for the panel, no charge for labor or the leak. Don't expect free labor because of this review. I normally pay for labor, but this was a very unusual situation and it shows the level of integrity in which he runs his business. read more

Steve is the BEST mechanic ever! My husband stumbled upon his shop about 5 years ago when he worked right next door. We later moved and tried a different repair place when my catalytic converter started rattling. The other shop wanted to replace the WHOLE unit for $1,000! We decided to take it to Steve for a second opinion. Apparently the only part that needed replacing was the heat shield. Steve spent a good bit extra time calling manufacturers to find the right part to save me a ton. He is a brilliant mechanic and a wonderful person to work with. From the first time I called Steve he was honest and up front. He broke down costs and explained the differences in the types of brakes he could use for my Audi A4. A few weeks before calling Steve I went to Pep Boys - Johns Creek, they told me (after 3 + hours) that I needed rear brakes the most and explained that the front were "pretty bad" too. They, fortunately, didn't have the sensors needed and would have to call around on Monday to get it and told me they would call me once they found it. They never called. I decided to call Audi directly, of course they were overpriced but only by $100 more than Pep Boys was going to charge. I called a few other local mechanics and was shocked when they quoted me a higher prices than Audi! So, based on the amazing reviews, Steve was on my list to call too, I called. I told him that I needed front and rear brakes and rotors and to bleed the brakes and replace fluid (what I was told was needed by Pep Boys). About 30 minutes to an hour after dropping my car off at Steve's he called to tell me that the front was really the issue (and that makes sense cause I'd assume front usually goes first). Anyway long story short, he did my front brakes, replaced the fluid, an oil change, and replaced a, nearly impossible to install for the average person (thanks Audi), parking light so that I can pass the emissions test. He was fair priced and honest.... a rare combination that equates to an amazing mechanic who I will go to time and time again for both my cars! read more

I took my car in to get breaks and an oil change and they had my car done the same day, even though they were extremely busy. I recently relocated to Alpharetta from California. I have a Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L V8 Hemi and it broke down backing out of my driveway. I knew it was bad when I couldn't get it to stay running. I called around to several auto repair shops and after a lengthy discussion I decided that Steve Miller at North Point Auto Repair was my guy. I had my truck towed in and they got to work. They diagnosed my truck quickly. No compression and a broken valve spring. This turned into a full tear down and rebuild of my heads. Along the way they discovered that my pistons were in good shape, but needed to be re-ringed. I have 175K on my truck and I never expected that I would have to rebuild an engine. But, Steve kept me in the loop every step of the way. I stopped by the shop a few times during the process and they showed me the work that was being done. Steve also went the extra mile and sent me photos of the rebuild so I could see the progress. I have nothing but positive things to say about this repair shop! Sometimes as a woman you feel that you are going to taken advantage of when it comes to repair shops. Not with North Point! I will be a customer for life now. read more
