You need a code to walk anywhere... From accessing the entrance or the main area. - The fees are very reasonable all things considered. In addition the website has a number of specials based on the size of the unit and how long you intend to rent. -The sell packing and storage supplies, including boxes and tape if you forget anything. - The entrance to the shopping center has a stop light... Now, this may not seem like much but if you are driving a rented truck or a van a light makes all the difference. - The common areas as well as the outside area that is theirs is very clean. "The Meh" - It's kinda funky, the storefront is in the main parking lot accessed in the front. However, the entrance to the majority of the storage units is in the rear as well as the access area for the trucks and vans. - The do run with a skeletal crew so sometimes when the staff is out showing units they will not be able to assist you immediately, but be patient... you went on that same tour once too just to see what the units looked like. "The Bad" - Nothing really bad to comment on.

Wrongful sale of my belongings despite payment attempt and communication…read moreThis review is for Public Storage - 8228 Belair Rd, Nottingham, MD 21236. On January 26, 2026, my storage unit was sold even though I made repeated attempts to communicate and make payment. I called multiple times that morning and left messages trying to find out the exact amount required to stop the sale. No one returned my calls. When I finally reached an employee named Chrissy, I was told my total balance was $1,000.48 and that they would accept a partial payment of $555.00 to stop the sale. I had the $555.00 available and agreed immediately. While attempting to process the payment, my bank showed a system error, which was later confirmed by my bank as an issue on their end -- not a lack of funds. We attempted the payment multiple times. I also tried using another bank card and successfully sent $1.00 to confirm that card worked, with the intention of immediately submitting the full $555.00 payment on that card. Despite these efforts, my belongings were still sold. On January 27th, I called again and begged them not to release my belongings to the buyer. My bank confirmed that the funds would be fully available on January 28th, less than 24 hours later. I explained this clearly and pleaded with them to wait. My unit contained irreplaceable personal items belonging to my deceased parents, which are the only things I have left of them. I would not refuse to pay knowing that. I was later told Public Storage gave me "two extra days," which is not true. My account had already been closed on the 27th, and my belongings had already been released to the buyer. The timeline does not support their statement. I did communicate. I did attempt to pay. I did everything I could under the circumstances. The lack of compassion, accountability, and honesty shown in this situation has been devastating. In my opinion, this was a wrongful sale, and no one should have to lose their parents' belongings this way.its not like i did have the money they can look on payments history they could have delayed the buyer but yet they lied and said they gave me truth extra days the day my things was sold was on the 26th i tryed to pay it it was a system problem on the bank end the 27th of january i talk to an manager that morning and told the promblem i beg him to hold the buyer up because they said the problem woud be fix the very next day which it was thats the 28th of jaunary i had the 555.00 ready to pay the next morning reguardless of how they do things they seen i was paying not lose my things i beg them and the 28th would have been the extra day they claimed they gave they seen i do pay so why not held that buyer off ...sometimes yall need to give people grace and not be so horrible and lieing on people because they did not give me that extra less then 24 hours

I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!

The…read morelocation was closing at 3pm that day due to the holiday and I was told I had to return the truck by 2PM-- NOT 3PM. Because the first truck had issues starting- I did not leave with the second truck until around 7:20AM. Add another ten to fifteen minutes to drive to the UBOX Storage facility and now the time is about 7:40AM. I drive to the UBOX storage ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT MY BOX IS NOT OUTSIDE. I finally get the attention of a guy inside who tells me there is a problem with removing a top bolt placed in the container to seal the door. He says this bolt is stripped and he does not have the right tool to remove it. I ask him about other ways to possible remove the plywood door but he says that will damage the door. I ask him what he will do about this problem because this is running through my truck rental time. He says he will call his supervisor and ask her. He and I continue to speak but my temper and his temper are getting to the breaking point. They were given 24 hours notification about this box being needed to be available for the customer. Why is he now just trying to remove bolts from the door? He curses at me and I leave. I called UHAUL/UBOX customer service and got a very helpful service representative named Nancy who listened to all the problems I was having that day with UHAUL/UBOX. She was very courteous and helpful. My call with her lasted 43 minutes. I placed the initial call to customer service at 8:18AM. The last minutes of that call-- the guy showed drove back onsite, went past me while I was sitting in my rental truck and never said a word. About 10 minutes later, another person drove up and entered the building. My UBOX was placed outside at a little past 9:AM. I began to empty it at that time. I emptied it, took pictures and left. ADDITIONAL PROBLEM AT THE UBOX STORAGE FACILITY The charge for this UBOX is made to my CC account on the 26th of the month. That is why I was emptying it on the 24th of December so as not to be charged. But THEY CHARGED ME FOR AN EMPTY UNIT ON DECEMBER 26TH. I called UHAUL/UBOX that morning early about it and the rep could not get anyone on the phone at either of the locations. THEY DO NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONES AND YOUR CALL GET ROUTED TO A QUEUE THAT IS NOT THE PHYSICAL LOCATION OF THE PROBLEM. I was told that a regional manager would be in contact in about 3 days. I called my CC company to alert them of this charge and to refute it.
