Weve been renting in EXTRA SPACE in Van Nuys, where we stayed 6 months and no problem, we moved to this branch 17510 Figueroa, Gardena, i though most personnel of the Extra Space are same, but we had a very bad experience from the manager, he confronted me and questioning why we are always in the area, we are still in situation of segregation of stuff, we dont even know where we put our important things, until almost a month and we are late of sending the stuff to our families for christmas, coz our stuff are scattered and need to organize, reason why we decided to transfer to other storage. read more

Luis, the Manager at the Gardena location was so supportive and helpful, he understood my needs and made my move less stressful. Once again, a family member using Extra Space Storage had their belongings destroyed by rats. They allow food venders in units and let rats in after opening all the units to paint their doors but then refuses to call an exterminator. They won't even allow him to move to a new unit. This is the epitome of a bad business to avoid at all costs. read more

I love extra space!! Every one of their locations are very accommodating. I have had many different storage units throughout the past year because finding the right location was quite tricky. Once I finally settled into this location I felt very welcome. Most important parts of this location for me are: the drive up access, late access hours, safety, accommodation. All of those are 10/10 here. As a woman, finding a storage facility where I felt safe was an extreme challenge. This location has respectful unit neighbors. Luis, the property manager, is always so friendly, helpful, and accommodating! I cannot say enough good things about this location. Highly recommend! read more

Ok so before I begin I want everyone to know my issue is not with the employees but it's with the actual company. I was given a set rate, I paid on time every month just for extra storage to give me a 30 day notice that they would raise my rate!! This is crazy cause when I go online they still offer the discounted rate nd that felt wrong cause I'm an actual current customer nd I'm being treated like this. That's just not right. Sounds like they just want to trap u into getting a storage then when they know they got you that's when they take you for a ride, that's not right. read more

Will never go back to those thieves again!!! They pulled the old bate&switch trick; I guess that's how they get their clients! They lure you in with a great rate then pad it up to the point that you won't recognize your bill. So, I decided not to store my stuff there after they padded my bill up without my consent with a bunch of added fees. They're not big on customer service. They hide behind their corporate policies to legally steal your money. Glad I got out when I did; but they charged me for a full month rent plus an extra mysterious $76 even though I never moved my stuff in the unit & I cancelled the contract a few days later. read more

All my stuff had rat droppings on it when I was moving out . Damage some of my clothes and shoes had to throw away .

TERRIBLE SERVICES! They never fix anyrhing, I told them my door was broken 6 months ago! It's still not fixed. Maybe when somebody steals all my stuff they will fix it? They have a public restroom but it's unavailable 90% of the time, BECAUSE you have to get the key from the office and there is no one there. If you are middle aged and have go often, TOUGH LUCK, use the bushes. I am a tenent and pay $200 a month to store supplies and I can't use the restroom? Bottom line rent somewhere else if you can. They have a bad theft problem, so don't leave your car unlocked while you are taking things in (even just a minute) or it will be stolen. read more

DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY! the security safe guards are a facade, they have shafy business practices as well. If they arent allowing people to steal ur shit, the employees are stealing it AND nobody is liable apparently. Even their insurance company/policies are a sham. The staff arent knowledgeable, and the customer service is horrible...from the site workers, to the assistant district manager. Take it from me, spend your money somewhere else!!! read more

As usual! This crazy place continue to inconvenience its customers without any compensation!! The elevator had been broken for a week now! And the only solution the incompetent manager Ricky has is to put your belongings in the elevator UNATTENDED, the use the stairs (top or bottom) to open the door because the inside panel is not working!!! So we have to trust that no one else open the elevator door before before I can get down stairs! Hoping no one steal my belongings!!! This establishment is soooooooooooooo horrible, the only reason I continue is location! This establishment deserves NEGATIVE FIVE STARS!!!! #Horrible read more

This place has a horrible problem with mice. I have found dead mice in my space twice. I put sticky pads in the space for the spiders and the mice got stuck on them. When I found the first one, I brought it to the attention of the manager, but he was too busy to get it out for me. He was kind enough to allow me ti use his broom and dust bucket to get it out. Esther helped me get the second one out. I requested management provide additional sticky pads, after no response for two weeks I purchased DeCon bait traps, today when I went to put some things in my space I noticed one of the traps had been disturbed and most of the bait eaten. The property is kept pretty clean except for the restroom. Which is locked on Sunday. Although the location is perfect for me if they can't get the mice under control I may have to find another storage facility read more

Reported their insurance company on 8/13/18 and sent an email to notify my police report, but no communication from their Beecher Carlson Insurance Services. Kay at the Extra Space Storage refused to relay messages, or involve into this. If you like to request the problem solve, involve California Department of Insurance, or District Attorney. In October, I am still asking to get my policy and claim number, but as of 10/25/18 I still don't have one. But when When I called them at (800)423-6071, they knew my name without giving any information. Knowingly ignored my case? According to them, they didn't have any information, in other words, nothing has started. Finally my case will start from today..what a waste of time to deal with this Extra Space Storage. Local police advised me to be out of the facility, so I did. read more

Beware anyone renting from Extra Space Storage @ 17510 S. Figueroa St. Gardena! I was a Tenant there and my unit and over 10 units were broken into in December 2017....It's a inside job trust me and they know who they are, the break-in's slowed down, only because they know I was on to them and there late night activity. DO NOT TRUST ANYONE THERE, they all are crooks as far as I'm concerned! If you have a regular lock on your unit, replace it with the Circular Lock, otherwise the Employee's there will only use the bolt cutters to cut it and Rob you blind like they did several Tenants, please put the circular lock on your unit...better yet Vacate the facility, because they won't do anything about it! I will continue to let everyone know about this Facility and there Employee's and the Corporate Office who do not care one bit about the tenants! Also all News Media will know about this Garbage Facility!!!!! read more
