I been a customer since 2019 I have always been pleased with Secure Space until they raised up the prices to their storage units. Honestly I feel like customers that have been with you guys for years should be grad-fathered in with the old prices. That's not fair at all. (And it's not just a small jump either Btw) I will be moving out of my unit because of this. I just wish I can take ur 2 employees with my things lol Vincent and Elizabeth are the best! But after speaking with Vincent I was totally on board. He was very thorough on information about the company but not pushy. I'm glad to say I am now a customer. Going today to check it out. Let me start by saying this storage facility is clean and safe, and Kassandra is the absolute best. So why only one star? In a nutshell, because SecureSpace has dramatically increased fees by 35%, and I anticipate more ludicrous fee hikes in the future. SecureSpace, a large corporation, recently bought this business, which used to be a family-run business called Storco. Storco prided itself on stellar customer service, as well as excellent storage space. I have been a Storco customer for 10 years, and they were the BEST storage facility in Long Beach. I recommended them to at least 30 people over the years. Storco was on the high-end for storage fees, but they were worth every penny, in large part because of their customer service. In contrast, SecureSpace has no concern for long-term customers. Immediately after taking over, they forced out long-term staff because they refused to pay them a fair wage (thankfully they kept Kassie, who is incredible). Then they dramatically increased administrative fees. And I just found out they increased everyone's monthly rent by 34%! Mine went from 375 to 500! Sadly, I will now have to find another storage unit because I won't be surprised if they raise fees again in the next few months. Many other tenants have left or plan to leave for the same reasons. Thanks to Kassie, SecureSpace still provides a safe, clean, professionally run storage facility. But their fees now outweigh the value, and the new owners' incessant fee hikes and lack of regard for their customers doesn't bode well for the future. read more

Had drive-up unit available at fair price. Was easy to book and pay for the unit. We had some issues moving in (we struggled to figure out their door and lock) but they helped us resolve it (3 times). Bathroom near office was very clean. Yesterday (7/6/24) received a small postcard dated 6/28/24 claiming a 30 day notice (effective August 1) of a 50% increase. This is late notice for an OUTRAGEOUS increase. So much for customer loyalty. read more

Received a postcard informing us of $100/month increase in rental fee. This was with less than 30 days' notice. On top of that, received an email that rental insurance is required, per the contract signed with Storco pre-pandemic. That is NOT correct, per the original rental agreement. This is their excuse to add on another $12/month for insurance. Since Storco was bought out by this new corporation, it has gone from a 5 Star operation to a ZERO. read more

I had been a customer for the former storco storage for quite some time before secure storage took over. Unfortunately i got 2 months behind in rent recently. They repeatedly sent me emails reminding of the payment due. I talked to 3 or 4 employees that i would come and take of the 2 months rent on the weekend of aug.10th, 2024. That friday aug. 9th, they emailed me a copy of a lien notice saying that i owed them now $380 when it was only a lil over $200 i actually owed, they thought they were smart and being slick by adding the extra charges 1 day before i was suppose to bring my acct. Current. So since they were asking me for nearly $400, my thought was i don't give a crap now, it was nothing but junk in the space anyway, nothing i really wanted to keep anyway. They are soo stupid that instead of allowing me to bring the acct current as i said i was going to do, they thought i was stupid enough to pay them $400 instead of the $210 i owed them. Plus, i would'nt put down any names of anybody close to you as another contact because if you owe them, they will also contact that person by sending letters to the residence of that person that money is owed to them which is a violation of your privacy. I started to go to their office to give them a good chunk of my mind for doing but i figured it was'nt worth wasting my time. 100% would not recommend ! When we first chose this place it was a lady she was sweet there is now a guy we tried to come in and access our storage our access was denied we go in the office and try to pay which we were 1 day behind he said go move your car out of my parking lot if u want me to pay which we did when we go back into the office 30 seconds later he goes into the office and lock the door saying he's on a hour lunch we paid our $300 storage bill online still access denied . Then decided to harass us saying us "black b*tch*** can wait outside until he's done with his lunch to give us access i highly wouldn't recommend this place we spend too much money to be treated this way customer service was horrible . He had white powder on his nose not sure if he was doing drugs and having a bad day but I wouldn't recommend no one deserve to be treated this way by there customers would definitely be leaving this place as soon as possible . read more
