Not sure I understand business model here. Bring in people with 3-6 month discount rate. Raise rates to market price while still offering original discounted rate to new clients. Asking for a price between the discounted rate and the market price and basically told to get out. Thank you for the loyalty after a year and a half. We have been using this storage now for 4 years. While it started out great our fees have increased by over 100% since Extra Space took over. I called about this most recent increase (made 5 calls) and it wasn't until I blocked my number that I actually got to speak to someone. Its too bad as the facilities are really nice but they are definitely money hungry! Also beware of the scams that if they will not prorate if you move out 1/2 way through the month. read more

I have been a good paying customer for approx 6 years. Raised my rent from -200 to 400 / month . Included in that rent is to be provided 110v power to keep batteries charged . This power has been very unreliable in one section ( new one) and new manager ( been there -6 months) seems indifferent and when speaking with him, disrespectful to his customer (me). I remain a tenant for now due to convenience near my home but I certainly would not recommend this place primarily due to the condescending attitude of this manager. At least the last manager cared and communicated regarding the power issues. They obviously never resolved the issue. This guy blamed other tenants for blowing the breakers... and when I explained I've been there and seen these others come and go and the problem seems to reoccur after each little bit of rain, and no matter who is plugged in. I know it's not my rig, because the power is sometimes out when I return from travel. I've been patient and I have been approached by others asking if I had power issues , each of them said the same thing. He blows them off, resets the breakers, and blames another renter. I believe they have too many spaces on too few breakers and also something effected when in rains.. even just a little bit. I called them and left message this AM stating I had no power this weekend ( 3rd time in a couple weeks) and I had run a cord 100' to another area ( and my rig didn't blow a breaker in that other area).. I got no call no nothing. I walked in ( before going to my spot) his assistant told me they reset the breakers and I should have power. I asked what has been done to prevent the problem and in a very rude manner the manager jumped in and basically implied it wasn't any of my business what the problem was.... Later he just said they have an electrician coming and supposedly they found a renter causing the problem... but he didn't communicate anything.. had he done that I wouldn't be wasting my time writing this rant... at least I would have known they were doing something. I asked him to advise me what they find... and I was met with disrespect , a stare, and another offer to move out if I wasn't happy. I went to my space another renter said he had blamed the guy next to them this morning... but that space isn't even in the same breaker I am.... Bottom line: he told me I was welcome to go somewhere else -- there's nothing to hold me there ( contract wise). What a poor example of how to run a business! Power was on when I left today , but I have no assurance that it won't go out and drain my batteries so anyone with a boat, RV, or service vehicle, when you go to get your rig from storage and you have dead batteries you understand the inconvenience and when deep cycle batteries drain completely they may not come back... last year I replaced 4 batteries ($3000) due to no power to them for extended period due to blown breaker. Now I feel I have to go check a couple times a week because this manager won't check their power daily and catch it if those breakers are blown. He said it's not there problem if others draw too much and blow the breaker.. I would not recommend settling in at this storage facility if you need reliable 110/15amp power to your rig for maintaining your batteries. Manager DOES NOT care about the damage or inconvenience for his customers. This current manager is a detriment to this business.... He must be a good bookkeeper and he sure shouldn't be dealing with customers. read more

On 4/21/22 I was notified that my catalytic converter was stolen off of my RV. My understanding from the Sheriffs office is that this happened to at least 10 vehicles. I no longer feel this is a safe location to park my vehicle and I am actively looking for other places to park my RV. read more

My wife booked the space online and a few hours a later I received a call from the manager (I assume) to finalize and pay for the unit. Unfortunately, I don't remember her name but she was super nice and very helpful. The unit was clean and ready for me to start moving stuff in. In addition, the entire facility is kept pretty clean, tidy, and air conditioned. There are carts available at every door to help with moving. Move out now!!!! If I could give them negative stars I would. The gate is broken and so they just leave it wide open 24/7. My trailer was stolen off the lot at 2:00am when the gates are supposed to be locked down (even to residents). They didn't even notice it was stolen and it took for another resident to come in looking for their trailer (which was also stolen) 4 days after the theft for them to realize that not one but TWO trailers were stolen in one night. I had a coupler lock and tongue lock and the thief cut both off. They were on the lot for more than 15 minutes just stealing mine for them to come back 20 minutes later and take the second one. When we asked what is going to be done, their only response was "there is not much we can do for you." They don't care about their residents or the security of the people who pay them ASTRONOMICAL monthly fees. LEAVE NOW WHILE YOU STILL HAVE YOUR STUFF TO LEAVE WITH. read more

DO NOT use this place for RV/trailer storage. 2 trailers stolen in one night. Extra space did not even care. Theft occurred on a Tuesday at 230am and owners not even notified until 1 owner questioned where their trailer was on Saturday while at the storage facility. Gates are continuously broken. Facility is supposed to be a secured storage and is not. They don't even check their cameras! Find a more reputable storage place! read more

Gate has been broke for a long time. While they wait for it to be repaired they leave it wide open. Apparently they never check their own lot as 2 trailers were stolen in 1 night and it took until we came this weekend 4 days later for anyone to notice. Future Renters Beware!!!!!!! I have had a camper storage space and a self-storage unit for the last 2 years before Extra Space Storage purchased the previous owner called Envy Storage. It has been less than 6 months and I just received a lovely rate notice for the 2 units I rent: - Unit 1 was $ 112.54 per month with the new rental increase of $164.50 per month - Unit 2 was $121.55 per month with the new rental increase of $187.88 per month The monthly increase for both of my unites is $118.27 per month. What is funny is you would think they newly painted building or added new windows, carpet or something to justify the increase, but nothing changed except the cost of my rent of $118.27. That is right, my space is still in the same location and same size. So one needs to ask why the $118.27 monthly increase, cause they think I am willing to pay it, not. No Fucking way, what a joke... Wait, when I called the manager to ask if I read the increase incorrectly or was there a typo, she replied others increases were much more. My increase was fairly reasonable. RENTER BEWARE OF THIS STUPID WAY OF TREATING A 2 YEAR CUSTOMER. I will not be renting from these idiots as November 1st as I gave my notice. read more

Location at 18612 S. Lindsey Rd in Gilbert Az is TERRIBLE! The gate is always broken and they just leave a note on the keypad to call a 1-800 number. Imagine pulling a 35 foot trailer into a parking lot off a busy street only to find out the gate will not open and you have to back out on to the major street to go to a different gate and hope it works. They raised my rent $100.00 after about 3 months citing "current market conditions." When I went in to question this the employee said I had an introductory offer that is nowhere mentioned in my contract. I looked online and the price is $169.00 for the same spot but they tried to charge me $235.00 a month. I went up the street and got a better spot for the $135.00 a month. definitely shop around before you store your RV here or expect to move it after their imaginary "introductory offer." The staff doesn't even know what size the spaces are. read more

Ever since Extra storage took over, they have charged fees to their customers, and now have raised their rates a second time in less than a year to $342 per month for a large space.
