They own several locations on and around this block, all managed by the same front office... Not bad, but some things you should be aware of if you're thinking of renting a unit here... Pros: - They're actually cleaning the restroom again after several months of filth. It's always been the cleanest storage facility I've ever seen, so I was shocked that the restroom had gotten soo bad for a while. Cons: - Since selling my home, I just keep selling stuff and downsizing till I don't need a storage anymore, but their pricing practices are just insane, be careful on what you sign up for, bait and switch comes to mind with their online specials (sign up at one price and the price is increased before you even complete the month), just constant price increases! - They used to actually be "climate controlled", but this year I've noticed "zero air circulation" in my part of the building (at my building anyways), I have to go outside every few minutes or suffocate in there (bring a cordless fan if you can, it's stuffy!). I understand climate controlled is not ac, and that's not what I was expecting, but when I moved in I distinctly remember air flowing through the vents, zero air flow now throughout most of the aisles that I've checked! - No trash cans at all, anywhere. I'm pretty sure people abused that convenience so they completely jailed the dumpster and got rid of any trash cans (even in the restroom). - BEWARE! A bag dropped off my cart moving from my car to my unit, I know exactly where it must've fallen off the cart, only when down one aisle with like two people on that aisle the entire time, I called the front office as soon as I noticed, with all the cameras I was sure they could check within a 30-minute window to try and see who may have walked out with over $150 worth of stuff, but no help at all (I'm sure management would be relentless if this was their monthly rent payment!). - IT'S NOT JUST THIS PLACE, MANY THIEVES AND TRANSIENTS LURKING EVERYWHERE (THAT LOOK EXACTLY LIKE SUPER FRIENDLY HONEST PEOPLE, UNTIL THEY'RE NOT), SO PUSH YOUR CART IN FRONT OF YOU (IN CASE SOMETHING DOES FALL OFF OF IT, YOU HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF NOTICING IT) AND NEVER TAKE YOUR EYES OFF YOUR STUFF, EVEN FOR ONE SECOND. read more

This is an extremely large and clean facility that is kept at a cool 66 degrees and was far more affordable than storage facilities that were in worse condition. The numbering is interesting but after finding our locker we experienced no issues. The one challenging and frustrating thing about this place is they had very few pull carts and it was almost like a contest for who would be able to find them because there were so few of them and they weren't dropped off in their designated place next to the elevator. If looking for an affordable, secured, clean and centrally located storage facility definitely consider this place. No matter how cheap of a rate, do not fall for their bait and switch practice. The fact is, they know the hassles of moving and the high costs associated with it. They run super cheap specials just to get you in, then they increase the rates anywhere from 30% to 200%, depending on the specials you fell for. I saw my bill jumped not 10, 20 or even 30%, no, try 40% after 4 months. As usual, the staff were always helpful and friendly. It is the corporate thugs sitting in the high rises, fattening themselves at the expense of their employees and customers. I was a huge fan of this company 5-6 years ago when they started their expansion here in Orange County. Leaving Public Storage for brand new facilities (mostly) for about half the price, it was a good decision at the time. I started telling all my friends and family about this company. The rates were so good, I paid 2 years in advance to lock in the rates. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. I must confess that I made a huge mistake. This company is far worse than Public Storage because Extra Space Storage has become the Gavin Newscum of the storage business. Their business practice is so scuzzy and slimy that I need to get my stuff and move out ASAP. You want proof? I went from 7 units several months ago, then down to 5 in July, giving up another 3 last month. l will cut all ties with these thugs when my Bait and Switch strategies end next month. Last month, when I removed three of my units, I saw a handful of tenants move out; when asked, they all told me the same thing: they're tired and shocked of the bait and switch tactics, which this company did not engage in until recent years. I finally realized that it's better to pay a little bit more, but knowing that you are doing business with a respectable company that you can trust is far more rewarding. Be careful with their bait and switch pricing. They may give you a certain price one month "to bait you into renting storage unit" and then charge more a month or two into renting. They almost doubled my price and stated "market" reasons. Tom the store manager had no empathy of situation and seemed to just care about making money, he would not issue me a credit. read more

Not just small incremental increases over time, double after a few months. If I would have known this was going to happen, I would have went elsewhere. Update. Once again their misleading and unfair policies have robbed me of more money--almost an entire month of rent. I emptied the unit and removed the lock a few days after paying for the month of July. They immediately closed my account and refuse to give me a refund on a unit I am paying for through the 28th of this month. I can't even use it if I wanted to and they'll rent it to someone and collect double rent. Be aware: they will increase your rent substantially after a few months. They will not prorate your last month even if you move out 3 days into the month. It's too bad because the facility is nice but because of their scammy business practices I cannot recommend and will not use them again. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE with customer service on a Sunday. We rented a unit and was told here is your gate code and your lock will be inside your unit. That is it. Zero additional information. We get here with a fully loaded truck and first can not even get in the gate because the code doesn't work nor does the temporary code on their automated phone system. Someone else finally lets us in. We go and find our unit which is the COMPLETE wrong size and is also fully locked. We can't get into it it because they have a lock on it that requires someone to unlock it, yet their office is closed. How would he possibly have been able to get into the unit? We had no idea either. We called customer service but you can't call with the phone number registered to the account anymore because you will never be connected to a live person again after that. I had to then call on my husbands phone in order to get a live person acting as if we were going to rent a unit so we could just speak with someone. The girl on the customer service line called all managers on this site to which no one answered. We were told she left a message and we just need to sit and wait for someone to call back. There is zero security on site nor maintenance in the event you need anything like getting into your unit. We have currently been sitting here for 2.5 hours without a phone call back, waiting for someone to come and help us. We called the customer service line again and they let us know an assistant manager should be coming within the hour but hadn't heard back from anyone confirming that. This has wasted half our day and after this we will never rent a storage unit here again. We have multiple storage units at other Storage units and have never ever run into something like this. It's a shame on their part and they lost ours and all of our family and friends business. We will have to wait here until someone comes because now we are locked in and can't even use a gate code to get out. I would have left 0 starts if I could. After the 5th person we spoke to a customer service man named David helped us immediately and knew exactly what he was talking about. If you have issues like we did with their staff being very ill trained please request him he is highly recommended and knowledgeable in the facilities. He was incredible and helped us after waiting there for 3 hours. After 3 times of "a manager was meeting us on site" there was still no one who showed up nor gave us a call back. I think David should be training staff as he fixed our issues within minutes. read more

This place is terrible, facility is old and decrepit. I see rats when I'm driving to my unit and traps all around. They randomly decided to raise my rate 30% as the lady who answered the phone explained it has to do with there occupancy and some other variables that have nothing to do with me. It was already overpriced but now I'm paying way above market. For the inevitable response from the company rep, I am not exaggerating your rates are way above market. The people on the phone appear to be very kind and give you a free lock and good price to move in. What they don't tell you is that they can raise your rent at any time and as much as they like. My rent went from $150 to $205 for both of my units within the first 3 months and they can keep raising it as much as they like. I wish they would of informed of this from the beginning rather than being sneaky and not telling you in the beginning they can raise rent every month if they wanted to. I was paying $300 for both my units and now $410, that is a crazy high increase. Beware. I don't recommend them. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I hope they make this right. Called to have my unit switched to a bigger size and spoke to the representative during local phone business hours. He offered second floor for cheaper. Not having storage experience, I asked the basics, does it have a big freight elevator? Easy access? Confirmed. Sounded good. Asked the representative if I wanted to switch again, after local phone business hours, for any reason, is that possible? Answer; yes, someone can help me 24hours. Brought my stuff and got in gate with my code, worked, got to first access door to elevators and it didn't. Called the help line and manager supposed to get back to me. 20 minutes goes by and I'm paying movers by the hour. Called back to see about switching unit to first floor and at that point they gave me a temporary access code. Modified message to manager now. Finally after about 40 minutes, get a call from manager. He said he couldn't switch me because he didn't have access to the system! So if you go there with a load that won't fit after local phone hours, not access hours, or need to switch unit for whatever reason, you're screwed with a truck load of stuff, movers got to go and figure on spending the night on top of your boxes and pay more for movers if you can book last minute to be availble for next day, pay more, and take an unexpected day off work or forget all other plans for next day which can domino and throw everything off probably costing even more money, hassle, and time. God forbid if you had a flight or a very important appointment you'd miss, then on the phone, etc., rearranging everything if even possible. Luckily my movers were able to give me the time but I paid for an extra 3 hours!!! Why exactly? Well, 1st access door after you get in the gate, you have to punch in a code everytime, which is timed; then just inside, for elevator access, got to punch in that code again, timed as well. You can't prop the elevator door open as it will become "inoperable." Basically, movers had to move in small amount of stuff into elevator at a time, then take the damn elevator, which is slow, up and down approximately 60 times. The reasoning behind the extra access code for the elevator was "security" and that only 2nd floor customers have access. Well, the same units are on 1st floor and outside units so where is their "extra layer of security"? Doesn't make sense at all! So this total costly nightmare, was because I received bad info or lack of info. If I was going to offer something cheaper, I'd say, "Reason it's cheaper is because the 1st access door is timed, slow elevator that can only load a litte at a time is timed as well, and it's just a hassle getting to the unit." And if I asked the direct question of having to switch after hours i can do so, have accurate info as people are weighing options and making decisions based on info. So since I didn't get a warning, here's yours. Freakin absolute avoidable nightmare! read more

I have been a customer here for two years now. My experience has been excellent. The staff is extremely helpful, specially Tom who is always happy to assist. I have rented several units, sometimes upgrading or downgrading sizes based in my needs and they always assist me quickly and efficiently. The facilities are very clean. The only aspect I am not too happy is that they seem to raise the price every year. Recently during Covid they raised my fee 30% which was a big surprise. I have quite a few storages in the area and it is the first time with Extra Space Storage and I am so very pleased, the space is more than enough then I actually need and the rates are so much lower than any other storage rentals around! AND....they actually answer the phones when you call!! Thats right! You do NOT go thru a series of automated transfers!!
