This second break-in, they stole half if not more of our personal items stored in the unit. Kyle, the manager, stated it was out his control and was insensitive about the situation. I feel material items can be replaced but our pictures which are a total of 30 year memories are all gone. If you do decide to lease from this facility, do not lease the units BEHIND THE FACILITY, that is where my unit is located. The doors to these buildings of units are kept open. If I could give this place negative stars I would!! First off they have nothing near the doors to keep them open so your suffering in heat trying to get in your storage unit that's the first problem. Secondly I found numerous bugs in my unit I'm talking crickets, cockroaches, ants, I even seen rats and mice running on top of the storage units so beware!! And then to top it off the rent hike they don't tell you about that happens just 4 months after you get your unit! DO NOT PUT ANYTHING ON AUTOPAY!!! They will not refund you the difference they take out after the fact you call about the rent increase! Bunch of scumbags that work here! I have been storing here for over a year with StorQuest but got transferred over to this business after there buyout. I have remained with them because they kept my same pricing and everything. I like how this place rarely has any dust/sand blowing all over the place like its competitors. The pricing is fair and reliable hours of operation. The after hours call center will help you anyway possible, only used them once, but they handled the situation perfectly. Gate access code for the lot and for a separate room for the smaller units. Overall, I can only give this place 4 stars because I have been with them since the buyout and not sure if my rate will maintain or if the increase in rate is inevitable after a certain amount of time. I agree 100% with Christina about this place being a joke. When I initially came the guy who helped me was efficient and nice and the price was okay, not great just okay. Then there were some change here and I regretted ever storing anything here. Firstly, they will raise your price on your unit within 3 to 6 months! I was told AFTER the fact that this is automatic. Anyone that claims this is the best deal around hasn't done much checking around. I don't mind paying a bit more if the customer service is good and the place is clean, however this is NOT the case here at all. Over a 3 month period of time I have called this facility repeatedly and either the voicemail is always full, or if I do leave a message I never receive a callback. No one is EVER there during working hours! I complained over and over to corporate even talking to the district manager and this guy is a joke as well as he will not take what you say seriously! There is NO WAY to reach anyone when you are there period. I called the office on numerous occasions to be put on hold and left there one time for over 40 minutes while I was waiting for the manager to get on the line with me! Whenever I complained I was told by her there were other people there first who needed her attention & I would just have to wait....YET, and THIS is the clincher, when I went to the office for help she had the nerve to make me wait repeatedly while she took incoming calls even though I was there FIRST! So it's a bunch of BS by her to manipulate her position so she can do it the way she wants to, not what is in the best interest of the client. After being disrespected over and over and my rate going up I finally found a better place. I was a little hesitant to give this place only 3 stars. At first I really like the facility and the people, the pricing wasn't too bad either. However, I went to visit my stuff after a month of storing it and it's completely covered in head to toe with dust. Everything inside the unit that isn't boxed is most likely ruined. For instance, my couches, tvs, etc. When I first stored my stuff at this facility it was off a promise that my belongings inside the unit would be okay. I now have to pay a ton of money to get an upholstery person to come clean my furniture and I have to buy brand new tvs. If you wrap your belongings up real well you might have a fighting chance, but I wouldn't risk it. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Kyle's service at the La Quinta location of Extra Space Storage. There was an unfortunate error on the part of another employee which caused me to lose an RV spot that was being held for me until a specified date. When I went to finalize the contract on that date the space had been given to someone else and there were no spaces left. I was furious because the employee had actually talked me out of paying for the space on the reservation date, saying that I didn't have my RV yet and they reserve spaces all the time. She convinced me to take the two-week guarantee on the space I had selected and gave me a card with my start date so I would know when to go in to do my contract. Kyle took the call when I called to make the arrangements and was the one that had to give me the bad news that the space had not been saved and there were no spaces left. In a word, I went nuclear on him. I already knew spaces were scarce in the Coachella Valley because I had called several places before them. After a difficult conversation, Kyle promised to call around to find a space for me and call me back. He returned the call as promised within a couple hours and gave me the additional bad news that he was unable to find a space for me anywhere. He told me to try to stay calm, that he was working on 'other options' and again promised he would call me back shortly. He called within another hour and told me that he had a spot for me! Kyle had AMAZINGLY gone ABOVE AND BEYOND and CREATED a new space for my RV on their property! Kyle humbly says he was "just doing his job" but he went so much further. Most any other company would have simply apologized for the error and said there was nothing more they could do. But Kyle actually went out and scoured their property for a spot that would accommodate my 21' RV and painted on the lines and space number to create a temporary space for me until a regular full-time space opened up. In a million years I would never have expected that! I am beyond grateful to Kyle, very loyal to Extra Space Storage in La Quinta and I HIGHLY recommend this facility to anyone that needs storage space. read more

The Facility is clean. READ THE CONSUMER REPORTS ABOUT Extra Space Storage PRIOR TO MOVING IN. . I've been a customer for years and on auto-pay. The rates have gradually increased yearly overtime and I've leaned to expect this. Last month the increased my monthly rate by $80.00 with no warning. I found out after the charge hit my bank account. When I went in and objected to the radical increase, the manager displayed a little "fake" sympathy, pretended he would try to help a little by submitting a request to corporate. In my opinion this company and its policies can be compared to highway robbery. I was told there would be small increases periodically. I'm sure somewhere in the fine print I signed a contract saying they have the option to do this (I haven't checked yet)... the manager didn't seem concerned about losing my business.... Apparently, this is their business model and I will like happen to you too. Just because you can legally screw your customer over, doesn't mean you should. Very clean establishment, professional staff and helpful. Great rates for units and priced fairly. The only issue I have is that We were forced to have to purchase insurance for our unit that covers theft fire and floods. I have used numerous company's in the past and have never had to purchase insurance. If anything give the option to decline it. To us it makes it look as if they are trying to make extra money on the monthly insurance add-on per month. This is something that is not in large print on their website if at all so beware for the extra fee on top of your monthly unit rate. Sneaking in hidden fees like this is common practice these days and it's a shame company's can't be honest up front and lay everything out clearly. read more
