There are multiple levels of security and the elevator is huge and fast. The owner, who is there all week, is super nice and helpful. You can tell he really takes pride in his business and maintains the utmost in customer service. There are ample dollies and carts, all in great condition. When I contacted CubeSmart, they offered no resolution. They said that I would have to go through my insurance to get compensation even though insurance does not cover pest damage, and they refused to refund my rent. This is not a clean place to safely store your items!!

From the loading dock I could read the sign for the closest elevator that says it's broken (2-3 weeks now). However, it was only after I had fully loaded a cart and pushed it down the hallway that I discovered the state of the second elevator. We could clearly see an employee was present in the office, but he was not proactive with informing us of the inaccessible state of the building. I could have been spared from loading and reloading the car with 150+ lbs of items. The employee said the second elevator just broke down recently, which could have been fine if it weren't for the fact that the first elevator was not serviced in a timely manner. To add insult to injury, he said one of the elevators was supposed to get fixed today "in the next couple hours" and that he'd call us once it got resolved. Well, it's past 10pm and that didn't happen. Without the elevators, we (and even the employee) are unable to access the second floor. There was a deconstructed couch just sitting by the loading dock, which seemed, potentially, like evidence of another customer who had an issue accessing their unit. Public Storage should notify customers if there are any issues that may impact accessibility to their products and services. To people considering this place, I highly advise taking your business elsewhere. Sure, it seems clean--but at what cost? Would I recommend this business to my enemy? I'm not that cruel.

Remember, as a general rule, storage rental facilities are largely unregulated which means they can raise your rent with 30 days notice to pretty much any amount they want and they know they have you on the hook because you won't want to relocate your stuff. If you get a quoted price online, lock it in for six month or a year by pre-paying if you can. ALSO remember - you can get your own rental unit insurance from any number of companies for half what the rental unit companies will charge you and bring in proof of insurance at the time you rent (but you MUST do it in person). ALSO ALSO remember - you can also bring your own secure lock and not pay $20 for one of their locks. Do all of the above and any smart reasonable manager or employee is going to make your rental process smooth and painless.

My monthly due date is the 8th. Like many Americans, money is tight and I knew that I would be paying a $20 late fee - but that I also had a 5 day grace period. I started receiving phone calls on May 11 from personnel in this location telling me that I needed to pay my bill. The next phone call was on the 13th and I spoke with the representative and told her I was aware that my payment was late. All total - I received 8 phone calls and six text messages regarding my account. It was worse than a collection agency. Because I've never been this late before (groceries, gas, medication VS. paying storage who wins?) I did not know that an additional $20 was assessed four days after the first assessed penalty. I have rented from this location for over 7 years starting when it used to be Metro. I had a testy exchange with George on Saturday, who implied that I was trying to skip out on my bill and that they deal with this all the time. He also said he'd "try" to pass my concerns along to the area manager, but he's not in control of her schedule and hopefully she'd get back to me sometime this week. I was outraged and called the corporate customer service number and explained my offense. The area manager finally called me today and it was - again - an abysmal, defensive conversation. I learned that $40 is part of the "late" fees and accepted that; however, my complaint was that I was being harassed and maltreated as a longtime customer and that the texts and emails are excessive. She proceeded to interject and said she'd let me talk and now it was her turn and that because I keep interrupting her she can't help me. She essentially defended the actions of the Limerick staff and never once treated my concerns as valid. It's not about the money anymore - it's about the professional disrespect that she is green lighting. DO NOT RENT UNITS FROM COMPASS. THE LIMERICK LOCATION IS THE WORST AND SO IS THE AREA MANAGER. I cannot WAIT to get my things and leave after spending thousands of dollars over several years. The price hikes are also so out of control that it borders on extortion.
