From family heirlooms that can't be replaced to all our clothes, baking supplies, books, pictures, everything. Everything had to be dumped. Reached out to the front office to state our move out date prior. The girl said it was fine that it was one day past our normal monthly charge and that she would not charge us due to situation. That was not the case. Karina G at the front desk stated that was not the case and continued to state that we STILL owed an additional $90 for the extra couple days. After spending thousands of dollars of the course of a couple years using this unit only to have everything ruined. Rented my unit for approximately 1 month before I arrived to find the lock they sell or give you, at some locations can be broken eventhough I was told it could not be. I found my unit broken into within 2 weeks of my last visit. The office manager tried to downplay the break in and theft. Wanting me to verify the break-in. She never came over to look at the unit. She said "...maybe someone is messing with you...." Luckily I took pics of the lock damage only to be told thieves don't usually break into only one unit. She also didn't want to replace the lock and tried to discourage me from filing an insurance claim stating you need to itemize the missing items. She also stated only the District Manager can review security footage and it's only available for 1 month. Not feeling very confident in this location. read more

I got a 8*10 and when I came - it was so easy. They had emailed me directions on how to access the place. The rates were great and they didn't charge me all these other /extra fees. On top of that, they gave me a fair price. Karina at the office was soo friendly - great customer service! When we moved in our stuff Susan at the office was so sweet and helpful. RENTERS BEWARE!!! A couple of people posted on Facebook Temecula Talks that their storage units had gotten broken into at the Ranch Pueblo location, so I called to make sure I wasn't a victim also. Come to find out after talking to the location manager I was not a victim of theft from some vandal BUT the victim of a scam from the business itself, it's called price gouging. As I called the business for the theft question the automated prompter said my next payment due would be $188.20, which was a 65% increase from the original rental cost. As I questioned the manager about the increase, she proceeded to say Yes, the promotion ended so your rent has been increased to the current rate for the storage space you have. She then added I was paying $40. less than their average cost for the size of space I rent. (Does that mean I will be getting another increase in the next couple months?) When I asked why I wasn't notified she said, the notice was sent on February 7th. Needless to say, I will be back in Cali in a couple of months and will be looking into moving my stuff to another facility. This place is so deceptive with its online marketing. I rented a space from this storage place and within one week, somebody had literally picked my lock and stolen all portable values out of it, and re-locked the lock even! When I told the office, they told me that they are not keepers of my belongings, and that they are not responsible for it. I asked them to look through the external cameras, and they told me that it was too much footage to look through and it probably wouldn't be possible unless somebody had time. They also told me, the manager, to be exact, that they had had another unit that had this type of theft. I believe in my heart of hearts that the staff are stealing from the storage units. Fast forward a few months later and I get a notice saying they are raising my rent from $73 to $114 but when you go to sign up for a new rental unit it is still at the lower rate. This is a manipulative business that gets you to move everything in and then takes advantage of the fact you brought it all there and don't want to move it again to get more money out of you later. Due to the place being highly insecure and management and staff being either in on the thefts or just dismissive of them, I would warn anyone never to place your belongings with the storage company. read more

Be careful when signing your agreement, the price is good to start but within 3 months my elderly mom got a 75 price increase. It is in her contract is what I was told, which they aren't likely correct but she didn't read it because when we called we asked if it would be increased in the next 6 months they said no. It is like a bait and switch in my opinion. Yes we should have read the contract, yes it is legal, yet they can do what they want it is their business but this is just a warning to not be lured in by the initial price. read more

I don't recommend this company. First of all, God forbid if you need to use the restroom while loading or unloading your unit. The site mgr (Corrina) tells you to go to the gas station across the street (1st time was covid excuse & 2nd time was toilet broken) yet when we were there before with a different worker, she unlocked the restroom to use it. I was moving out of state & needed somewhere to store the left over stuff I couldn't get in my pod.I received a rate of $146/mo because I was going to rent for 6mo instead of getting the first mo free. The gentleman that helped us rent the unit (Bob) was great, but at the end of 3mo they raised my rate to $205 without notice. They told me they sent a notice to my old address but didn't email me. When I called & talked to a district manager, they did lower my rate to $186 for 3mo. When I called before moving out I talked to Corinna & gave my credit card number to her to pro-rate my 3 days over my auto pay date. She said they wouldn't charge me the $186 since she was going to put in my credit card for only 3 days. Well, I got charged! I was at the storage moving out when this happened & talked to her, she denied that I had already talked to her to set this up yet I knew the dollar amt she would be charging me. She did reverse the $186 & charged me the $18 at least. I don't think this place cares about their customers. read more

Extremely heartbreaking. They don't care about anything but getting paid. If you're moving out, watch your stuff because the staff will steal from you. They will say "oh we thought it was trash" and take it as you're moving stuff from your unit. Ridiculous. I will be suing for breach of contract. read more

I will never use this place again, the roof leaked getting water on my finishings. The moisture created mold damaging a fair amount on our belongings. Turned out the roof was leaking due to poor maintaining practices. I didn't get the insurance from the storage unit, even if i did it would not have covered the damage. If you have renters insurance please read the fine print. Personal renters Insurance does not cover negligence. At least State Farm doesn't. read more

The manager at this Extra Space was cool at first except she turned out to be a liar..... and overall aggressive, unpleasant person. I let here know I would need somewhere I could work on my business inventory and vintage trailer. She said that would be fine. Later she started hassling me about how much time I could be working in my unit during there open hours. So I started getting ready to move out. One day about 3 days before my lease was up. She stopped by my unit around 3:30 and told me, " Its was time to close up for the day" I told her, " no your still open and you said I could work here". We're mid-pandemic and I needed to move quickly and safely. Karina has the BEST attitude and service. We talked on the phone and I signed the lease virtually. I arrived and the unit was smaller than I thought so she quickly switched me to another one and had my sign the lease from my phone again. She had a lock waiting for me too. It was as safe and socially distant as could be but also sooo quick and pleasant. Couldn't have asked for a better experience even under normal circumstances. PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU RESERVE! ITS LONG BUT WORTH THE READ I would give this facility more than one star if we were talking about their customer service center via their headquarters however this rating is a direct reflection of the health of the facility and it's management. My husband and I haven't used a storage facility for over 12 years. We reserved here because they were in proximity to our new house and their ratings were good. Upon reserving via their headquarters we had wonderful service, even from the facilities employees welcoming us. We moved our things in and went on auto pay. Fast forward a few months when we are ready to move our things out we took a few boxes home at a time. The boxes that we took to our home had VISITORS inside, ROACHES. We contacted head quarters and had to wait to speak to the manager. I showed her pictures of the live roaches that we brought to our new home and our disgust seemed to be pretty understood. They offered new boxes for what was still at the storage unit to transfer our items on site from the roach infested boxes to the fresh ones. They even offered to extend the time on our unit free of charge to transition out. Well, my husband had an eye procedure that I explained to the manager and we were not able to move heavy items for a few weeks. Upon returning today we found that they red locked our unit (for non payment). Frustrated I text messaged the manager (because we exchanged numbers when we discussed the roaches) asking what was going on and she claims to have been trying to contact me and that they need payment before we can access the unit. I replied by re-explaining the situation and she just keeps texting basically saying it was our fault! I called customer service headquarters again and they read the notes on our account and not only confirmed that my version of the story checks out and was documented on my account but our contract was done wrong!! The facility had a random phone number on the account and my name misspelled. This is likely why their attempts to get a hold of me failed! The level of unprofessionalism of the manager to continue text messaging to argue her point and not just call (which I'm not clear how she didn't get a hold of me if she had my cell number) to explain the confusion amazes me. I pray headquarters will clear this up! But I would not recommend this facility due to their roach problem and their operational ethics are extremely poor. read more

BE WARNED! If you like your stuff and your money, don't rent with Extra Space Temecula. If for any reason your autobill doesn't go through, they will jack you with massive fees and will not accept only the past due amount. You'll have to pay the past due, fees and the current rental - and they're extremely rude about it. Want to use your own insurance? Sorry, you can't fax or email them a certificate of insurance, you have to do it in person, which is perfectly fine if you are near by. If you're on the road, forget it - pay the inflated insurance premium. I'd give them a zero rating if this was possible. Out of all the storage lockers I've rented over the years, Extra Space Temecula is the worst. read more

BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!!!! I just received a "Rate change notice" and let me tell you - a 117% increase and two weeks notice of change! I have only been in the unit 1 year this month and this is the SECOND increase and this one alone will nearly DOUBLE my rent. Ridiculous and completely unethical. I do not give a damn about the 'market conditions' that they site in the notice. This is wrong. Prior to this unethical gouging experience I will readily admit that this was a wonderful place and I recommended them to all of my clients, friends and family members. Those days are done. YOU CAN'T GET OUT. Went there to inspect a client's stored vehicle and spent 30 minutes trying to get the gates to open and let me out. There are no keypads on the inside, and the gates are locked. (Safety issue?) After deciding not to disassemble the gate to allow me to leave, i finally climbed over the 7 foot, spike topped fence and walked to the keypad outside and manually entered the code to open the gate. If you're not an Olympic athlete, stay away from this poorly maintained facility. (Also read the other reviews before thinking of storing your belongings here). read more
