Extreme is the right name for this business. Most of my speakers are not working. I went in and told the guy who came in from the back about what was going on. Instead of suggesting I bring it in for a diagnostic, he went about telling me what I needed. A new unit, speakers blah , blah blah. It all came to over $1000. I told him that was too high. He suggested a new audio unit that was on sale. Brought it down to $800 or so. Still over my budget! He didn't seem all that interested from the get go. So I went to another audio place. They took it in to look it over $35 deposit and what they found out was all it needed was a fuse. So for less than $100 my speakers are working fine now. They never asked me important details such, turbo timer installation, running time after truck is started, glow plug waiting time. When I asked about some of this, they said " no worries, they know what they're doing". I have been to Extreme Audio several times. Even prior to their new established location I have been going to them! I have brought three of my vehicles to them for installation of floor lights and also replacing head lights. Each time I have went the owner Rob is always extremely busy and doesn't provide you with adequate customer service! My recent problem I have had with this company is the lack of appreciation for their customers! I was running a few minuets late to my appointment and I called to inform them I will be running a little late. The owner then proceeds to say your too late for your appointment I will have to book you the following week! I said to him that's understandable however, is there any way you can look at the problem sooner due to the lights already installed and it would not maximize his time. Rudely, he speaks to me very condescending! I thought it was very unprofessional with the service I have received! It takes away from a the previous work they have completed for me! As a returning customer and a dedicated customer I should have not received that type of service! I will highly recommend you going another place for services! read more

I had Extreme Audio team upgrade my stereo system and install a CB radio in my 1977 Bandit Trans Am. They installed a killer sub woofer that fit where the spare tire would sit. With the cover It looks just like the spare tire and doesn't take up too much room in the trunk. The installation was done very professionally. Rob's team fixed a lot of wiring issues behind the dash and now the windshield wipers and dash lights function properly. The Extreme Audio team noticed that wiring in the engine compartment needed attention. Now my engine compartment looks fantastic. Rob and his team are very personable and a lot fun and knowledgeable. This company sucks. I was getting my car tints worked on at total tints (they're awesome!) and my radio fell in a few days ago so I figured why not ask the place next door Extreme Audio to reseat it for me for cheap. Should be a nice easy job. When I walked in the bald dude immediately tried to say without even looking that I'd need a new dash kit and it'd be ATLEAST an hour in labor, $200 bucks. I told him the dash kit isn't broken and that it just needs to get reseated and asked if someone could just look at it first before they try to give me a quote. He stayed quiet and another guy said I'll take a look at it. I was in the waiting room and that guy went in and out 4-5 times and didn't even talk to me. The bald dude walked by a few times too. After over 20 minutes the bald guy walks by, stops at the door pokes his weasel head in and says it'll be $150 for us to fix it. I say so is it broken? He answers with we can make it work. I refuse because that's bs and wait for my tints to get finished. He did walk in and out of the shop a few times after that. When my car was finally finished by Total Tints, I noticed that all around my dash piece, it was destroyed to all hell. They used the wrong tools and tried to take it out where the climate control is for some reason.. pretty stupid considering that's where the most resistance would be. I am very upset with this place. Very surprised they did that. And since you could reach your hand in where the radio is, they could've easily just put a hand in there, grab onto the dash piece and pull it out.. I just did it as I'm writing this review. Nice and easy it came right out. Total Tints and Extreme Audio are two difference companies they just share the same break room and building. Do not deal with Extreme ever! I will definitely go to Total in the future for my other cars though. Cory is extremely professional and really does everything correct. I recommend Act Audio in South Windsor or Action Glasswork in Hartford. Action will pick up your car wherever it is and work on it and bring it back if you can't leave work. And they do it fast. Remote starters, radio installs, the whole 9. I hope I never see the weasel again. If I notice any extra damage I am filing a lawsuit. And Weasel just so this is here, you and any of the Extreme Audio techs are never allowed to be in my car without me there watching. If you want to make this right and compensate me for the damages, Cory can provide my number to you. It would need to be done at a shop that isn't there. Rob and his crew were great from the start. I was looking for an aftermarket alarm kit that would tie into my 2021 Silverado OEM alarm. I only wanted to have one key fob. After talking to several shops that said it couldn't be done, I called Extreme Audio. Impressed with the fact they could add on to the factory alarm, I made an appointment and had the system installed. I brought in my 2015 Toyota RAV4 Limited into the store to have the radio upgraded. I really didn't know much about car audio so I had to rely on the car audio experts. Rob (the Owner) went over some radios with me and options. I told him everything I had in my car now and what I wanted in my new radio. I had XM Radio in my RAV that I wanted. So the radio that I chose was XM Radio ready. So I bought in my car on Monday to install. When I got the car the installer went over everything in the car, the radio did not have my XM Radio installed. The installer mentioned that it was not on the installation invoice. He mentioned that I needed a XM Radio box or something like that for the satellite radio to work. It was an additional cost. I said I didn't know it needed that. The installer took the car back into adjust the angle of the radio screen. In the meantime I went into the store front to ask why it was not included. Rob said it was an additional cost. Which I would have paid for, no problem. I HAD NO IDEA THE RADIO NEEDED IT. But then he went on about that I should have looked at the receipt to see it was on there and if was included in the price. SO, now I have to check the work to make sure they are doing their job to include things that I have no idea that I needed in the first place. I got heated because he made me sound that I was at fault for not looking at his work. I got mad and I left. Rob the Owner proceeded outside to continue to argue with me and yell at me about what he said. HE YELLED AT ME OUTSIDE HIS BUSINESS ABOUT SOMETHING THAT WAS HIS FAULT!!!! SINCE WHEN, IS IT OKAY TO YELL AT CUSTOMERS FOR THE BUSINESS'S FAULT. He admitted it. He wanted to do the install of the additional equipment for free, BUT I DO NOT WANT ANYTHING FOR FREE. I am a paying customer and I pay for my items. He asked me for my review, well here it is. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I truly wish there was a negative star to give because he deserves it. I am one (1) customer out of hundreds and I know that my comments won't change his business and how he runs it. But he doesn't and shouldn't talk to people like he did to me today. The installers do great work. The problem is it's run by someone who lacks integrity and won't admit he is wrong if something goes awry with the work being done to your vehicle even if you confirm from outside sources or businesses. He will gaslight you and make you think it is somehow your fault which btw is a symptom of narcissistic personality disorder, he also has his salesmen wrapped around his finger to do his bidding. though he is a man of character. I was charged 5 hours labor for diagnosis (500$) for something that was overlooked that should of been squared away the day before (1700$) because the owner didn't want to own up that he couldn't figure out why the speakers were humming and didn't sound right. Turns out it's because of the active noise canceling in newer vehicles. I'd recommend you look elsewhere if you have a newer vehicle. read more

I brought my vehicle here to have a car starter, drone and audio system installed. Shortly after the installation my battery kept draining power. I constantly Had to jump the battery and ultimately ended up changing the batter to no avail. I spend thousands of dollars for this install and even brought another vehicle here for other services. After taking the car to another dealer to investigate the issue, they found that the issue was that the car starter was wired wrong and the dealer wouldn't be able to fix it since they didn't install it. I brought the car back to Extreme Audio thereafter because I didn't find my receipt they acted like i never brought the car there. Take Extreme caution when dealing with these guys. read more

Had a sub installed in the trunk by these guys. Nothing special. I had the unit plus wiring but wasn't sure how to wire things since I can't fold or bypass the rear seats in my car. They did the job, it took several hours - longer than I was told. When I got the car back I was NOT impressed by the choice to pretty much leave all the wires hanging and open in the trunk. At least Best Buy attempt to conceal. I know that from a sat radio install they did. I asked them to conceal the wires only to be told it would be an extra cost and they'd have to do it another day. I went in yesterday to get a price quote for a new stereo to replace the 16-year-old one that came with my car. Mainly I wanted a way to play music on my phone that didn't involve the a staticky FM transmitter (the setup I'd been using since I bought the car). Not only did I receive excellent and prompt customer service, but within 5 minutes I was given an exact price quote and timeframe for installation. I walked in expecting to leave with a quote, but instead I left about an hour later with a newly installed system, and they even sat down and showed me how to use it and made sure I was able to connect with my phone before I left. These guys are the reason you go with locally owned and operated and not a big box store. Great customer service, truly interested in my wants and needs (and budget) and great sense of humor to boot. Took one hour to install a new radio with satellite in my car; and another 20 minutes to teach me how to use it in the parking lot (my fault for not being technologically proficient, but awesome that they are so patient!).
