"6 Star Excellence" This is one of the best experiences I've ever had in purchasing something. I began by looking up "Car Audio" on Google and Yelp. Frank's High Fidelity came up with high marks. I stopped in to see what they had available and possibly make an appointment. Jesse was incredible from start to finish. The 2013 Jeep I bought had a Pioneer radio without a CD player. I have a huge collection of CD's so it's a necessity for me to have a CD player in my vehicle. Jesse checked out my system and made a couple suggestions without pushing a hard upsell for their most expensive products. He allowed me to make the decision and he ordered my radio. I brought the Jeep in a week later for the install. While Frank the owner was installing the radio, Jesse took the time to show me everything else they offer in the shop. No crazy upsell. Just a friendly, "Here's what we have and keep us in mind for the future." They offer car audio and video systems, car starters, LED head lights, Weathertech products, truck side steps, and they install and service breathalyzer systems in vehicles for DUI's. Very busy niche for Frank's. Frank and Jesse went above and beyond to make sure my new Pioneer radio was installed perfectly. 5 stars is the most you can give for most reviews. I give Frank's High Fidelity 6 stars. Frank even gave me an extensive tutorial on how to operate the radio. He also said to come back if I have any questions. Now that's great service. read more

IF only there was a MINUS 25 stars ... that what Frank DESERVES. The screen on my 2011 Panamera died. Frank billed my warranty service on Feb 20, 2025. Got paid by insurance and I paid him $120 above that. He didn't understand that Porsche radios must be programmed to the car's vin. and after two replacement radios, 37 (the actual number) phone calls, and patiently waiting for 6 months for him to figure that out, on June 27th he told me to find someone else to finish the job. Since he started it, the insurance won't pay a reputable company to program it, and Frank, who could get paid for programing it won't finish the job. I'm left with a radio that still doesn't work, and no way to fix it except pay for it myself. After he couldn't just replace the radio, Frank is rude and abrupt. YOU should stay as far away from that place as only possible. read more

I went to see Frank and Jesse at their new location in Wolcott, CT. I wanted some (nice) accent lighting added to the back of my truck. I had not been back to see Frank or Jesse in a few years. Both came out and gave me a personal greeting. This really made me feel special. The job that was done is Excellent! The truck looks great. The nicest part is Frank always calls you into the garage to explain exactly what was done and makes sure you're happy and satisfied with the finished product. I travel from Massachusetts and the drive is well worth it. So, I had an install performed at this shop. Their install caused my battery to repeatedly drain. I came in and asked for assistance on 3 separate occasions because anytime I went anywhere, I had to jumpstart the car. After blaming it on the product and not the installation, I called the product manufacturer and they shipped a replacement. The product was replaced but did not resolve the issue. After telling me to go to another shop for service over a request for a refund, they stated that they moved some wires and that it shouldn't be a problem. The installation has NOT been a problem since they corrected THEIR mistake. I returned today after being told I'd get free service because of the mix up and they asked me to go to another shop again because I left a poor review on google. Ratings systems exist because shops who do not maintain professionalism can be held accountable in the eyes of the public. In a scenario where you are beholden to a service provider in order to get a car started because of a shoddy installation, there will be understandable frustration. Snapping at a customer because you own the shop and can is poor service. Asking a customer to find a different shop because they called out YOUR shoddy work is disgusting. Apologizing for that, promising a free service and then pulling that back because you were held accountable in public for losing your temper, is reprehensible. read more

I have read these reviews and, yes, up front he does give the impression that he knows what he is doing. Not so! On my Mercedes seats, the heat element did not work, nor did they move back or forth. Frank, with his smooth "customer service talk", told me he could fix this. Upon picking the car up, he said DO NOT turn on the heated seats, but he fixed the movement. I should have questioned him, but he expressed confidence with the work that he did. Lo and behold, 2 weeks later, my whole electrical system burnt out!! I took it to Route 63 Auto repair in Watertown and they asked me who did this rinky-dink work. I had to get a new battery and have the car re-wired! The showed me how he "hot-wired" the fuse box with wires and a separate fuse protruding from these wires to get the seats moving (in which they worked for 1 day). He said WHO would do this to a Mercedes?? They should have known you cannot play with the electrical system with these cars. Do not be fooled with the "true professional" reviews. He is OK with fog lamps, but he is a Hi-Fi guy, not a master mechanic!! Do not allow him to sweet talk you where you will regret going to him! I chose Frank's over a few other options to have my remote car starter installed. It snowed the day of the install causing me to miss my appointment. They were very accommodating and took me in at a later time. The remote was installed in short time while I waited in their showroom. Frank took his time to make sure I understood how it worked. He sells weather tech products there which is a plus! Glad I went there and highly recommend this business . These guys are tops in their field! Although I use them for a different service they have always been knowledgeable, informative, courteous and respectful. I have asked them questions, watched them work and even seen a few of their finished results and they are truly the only two I will go to in the future for anything related to my vehicles for accessories. A trustworthy and dedicated shop is hard to find these days so anyone reading these reviews and considering going elsewhere still, stop looking and go see them. Looking for honesty and fairness...not to mention top quality work? Go to Franks. We found them from a review online and drove about 15 miles to try them out. Have had 2 successful installations and treated well. Stopped in this past week on my way back from a business trip. I have AM radio static in my 2008 Highlander Hybrid. Basically told the truth about my situation rather then charge me to diagnose without even having a conversation with technician. FYI my Toyota dealer said "it's probably the radio and will need to be replaced but at least $185 to diagnose". Frank said "that car has an antenna in the rear window and it could be anywhere between there and your radio". We'll be bringing in my daughter's car for a new remote starter soon!!! read more

Frank was very thorough in the process of installing the remote starter and explaining all of the features. Frank was also very helpful in solving an electronic issue I had with my running lights on the vehicle. He went the extra step to make sure that everything was diagnosed and addressed correctly. Couldn't be happier! Purchased a remote starter for a friend for Christmas. They were super professional and respected my wishes to not call and confirm the appt as it was a surprise. While the car was in the shop, they noticed the heater fan was really loud. When they called to say they could order the parts and replace it, they gave me a price that I approved. When we picked up the car, they gave us great news. A critter had climbed inside and left some debri in the fan. They cleaned it out and we were as good as new.
