Great rooms! We did the Illusion and Breaking Point. Ry, John, and Mario were amazing! This is my favorite escape room in SA so far!

Came in for a family fun night and tried 2 rooms. The first room was Master of Illusion and it was fun. We were a little disappointed that it was only 1 room so it was relatively small but it flowed well and he had fun. The 2nd room was Horror on Hallows Eve and it was terrible. This was room 59 and 60 for us as we've done a ton of rooms in Los Angeles and this room made absolutely no sense. On top of that, we had to do the knives puzzle literally 10 times because one of them was messed up and kept doing the noise when you pull the knife out of the pumpkin when it was not taken out so it took a TON of time away from our game. We finally got it to work by holding the knife super tightly into the pumpkin until we completed the rest of the knives. We ended up not escaping the room like 5 seconds too late which was frustrating when this took up such a large amount of time for a defective puzzle. On top of that, the hint system showed up on a screen and largely didn't pertain to what we needed help with. We much preferred when game masters give you a walkie talkie so you can explain the section you need help with. Finally they charged us for a photo which is crazy. In over 60 escape rooms that we've done, not once have we been charged for a photo. read more

We had a great time here! We literally drove by and decided to give it a try and I'm glad we did because it was fun and exciting. The employee by the name of Ali was so helpful with everything and made us feel 100% comfortable. From the moment we walked in, she was so friendly and informative. Seth did an amazing job in the control room giving us clues when we got stuck. Since it was our first time here we weren't sure what to expect or how to figure out some clues but Ali helped us with every question. They have coupons on their Instagram page which helps the cost so be sure to reserve online and use a promo code! If you don't feel comfortable carrying your belongings they offer lockers to store everything. Can't stress enough if it wasn't for Ali we probably would have left and not given it a try but Ali made sure that we were taken care of! BEWARE: HEARING LOSS / INJURY We visited the Colonnade after having a poor experience at the Stone Oak location. In Stone Oak, the (Society Zero) room malfunctioned so many times the manager had to come into the room to apologize and show us the things which didnt work correctly. It was a new room and we were disappointed but understood they were still working out some bugs. They offered us two comp tickets for a future game. Today we did the comped game (Horror on Hallow's Eve) in their other location and while the game was an interesting concept, the puzzles were not linear and people with poor vision will be at a disadvantage in the dark. That wasn't the problem though. The issue is an air cannon (two, actually) that were SO LOUD it was deafening. There's no warning this will happen. There's no disclaimer or verbal heads up from the game master, you're just standing in an enclosed room and then your ears are painfully ringing due to several seconds of ear-splitting noise. It is absolutely loud enough to cause hearing loss. Anyone with hearing aids could be seriously injured. It was completely unacceptable and the game master shrugged it off and said they can't control how loud it is and his ears have rung from hearing it, too. Totally inexcusable to injure your guests all for a prolonged jump scare/overwhelming audio. I cannot stress enough how obscenely loud this was... I've been near fighter jets taking off and it wasn't that loud - this is not an exaggeration. It's insane that a company can subject someone to that noise level. I will never return. read more

My work team and I completed the Undead escape room in approximately 42 minutes. We had a lot of fun with this teambuilder because there were several clues that required us to divide and conquer! Even though there were 10 of us, we felt that the difficulty level was still challenging enough. The theme was perfect, and we only needed one clue to complete the escape room! Was looking for stuff to do around San Antonio and found this place online, so I figured we'd try it. Glad we did, it was a good time and the staff was so accommodating. They were also extremely animated and got in character, love that! When we weren't in their lobby about 5 mins before we were scheduled to start, they gave me a call to check in. I let them know we were going to run about 10 minutes late (tourist problems-we got confused on the freeways!) and they offered to give me a full refund since we won't have the full time allotted and there is a party scheduled immediately after us. I'm not sure if that's their policy for late groups, but I thought it was nice. I asked if we can just continue with the reduced time and they agreed. Once we got there, everything was a breeze. We came in as a group of 4 adults and we did the Trapped Below (railroad mine theme) room. I was the only one who had previously done an escape room, so the other 3 didn't know what to expect. They also don't really do puzzle games in general but were looking forward to try out an escape room. They were, however, confident that not only would we be able to escape, but that we would beat whatever the ultimate best time for that room was. But they quickly learned it was not a walk in the park as they imagined, more like a jog on an incline with the wind blowing against you. It was challenging enough, especially with less time, and there were definitely puzzles that stumped us for a bit - we used all 3 hints! Unfortunately we ran out of time on our last puzzle, and to be honest I don't know if the answer would've clicked for us. The group verdict was split: 2 people think having the full 60 minutes would've definitely allowed us to escape, the other 2 do not. Either way, we left wishing we had the chance and time to try out the other rooms and explore the other themed adventures. There are different levels of difficulty (the one we did was rated 4/5) so it's a good time for adults. I think maybe for families as well, as we were leaving a family with what looked like 2 teenagers were checking in, so it's definitely an activity that can be enjoyed by a range of ages. Definitely come check them out, it'll be a fun time! Pro tip: Go with your gut! If you have an idea for the solution, just try it (even if your group can't see the vision) cause it might just work. read more

We did the Breaking Point room on Saturday night and were warmly greeted by Ethan when we arrived. He gave us good instructions once in the room and also explained about the help button. Once in we were stuck and asked for a clue and he gave us enough of a clue to get moving again. We had a memorable experience and will definitely be back. read more

What a great time! The place looks like it's pretty new and it seems to be a very busy business which is great. The staff was super great and helpful. The game is an average of 30 bux but if you book with yelp you pay 25 and when you check in here you get a free clue during the game. You are not allowed to use your personal phones during the game so keep that in mind. They do provide free lockers to leave your stuff outside if you don't wanna come in with it. The game usually takes 8 ppl do if you don't have a full group you will be paired with another groups. We got the zombie room. Basically a lab room. In this room communication is key, cause there is so much to be done that if ppl don't communicate you will get stuck. I didn't see anything that was negative on this location, we had a blast! We didnt break amy records lol we had only 3 minutes left on the clock but qe made it! They took a pic of the group after and they will send it to us by email and that is very convenient. My overall impression was great, we had an awesome time and I would definetly come back for the pirates room! read more

As my best friend Jorge and I made our way through the front doors - my best friends Marlen and John danced their way inside. The lobby was empty and the music was on point. It was a typical Friday GNO, except we were here to conquer and escape the "Undead zombie" room. Brandon greeted us, mostly Marlen, at the front desk, providing us with tablets to sign our waviers and applauding our dace moves. The room was spooky at first sight. Patrick led us to our room. As the door opened, we saw a body on a stretcher and creepy dark lighting. Immediately intimidated. Patrick explained the room and rules to us with excellence. We had a lot of fun going through the game and solving the puzzles, between us 4, we took about 40mins I believe and used 2/3 clues. Marlen was the brains of the game, Jorge and John - the best at following along while I found random items - throwing it all off. #teamwork At the end, we took a fun group photo with funny props/signs. We had a blast and definitely coming back for another date night/GNO. Thank you Patrick for dealing with our personalities, Brandon for having to watch us be the most dramatic customers. I've done escape rooms before and I have to say this place is great! The ones in LA were really grungie. I remember the lockers also being a bit dingy if there was even one. I've also done ones in Austin and although the facility was huge, they didn't have lockers. This place is pretty amazing though. Clean, new, and nice lockers. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. We only did one room but it was pretty challenging. You only get three clues but i swear they gave us more than that ahahaha. Despite that it was still hard! I'm not sure how many scenarios they have or how often they change things up but it was very well done read more

Great team experience. I went with my colleagues at work and tried the Pirate theme one. It was fun seeing everyone work -- and not work together -- in solving the puzzles. Guests can receive one free drink -- soda/water or beer while on the premises. The person helping us was very nice and considerate. The game lasts 60 minutes and you can receive a few free clues if you check into social media channels. However, I could tell they were open to helping more if you were really suffering. The challenge was to get out of the room by figuring out a series of puzzles found around the room. Some were definitely more obvious than others, but they tied in together very well. read more

In this whole thing I didn't know what to do for my little boys birthday. He's turning 11 and I was like we want to do something fun interactive but how can we do that safe and cool. I have to tell you this place was great! The staff was phenomenal and everything was very Covid friendly. We did two experiences and I think I'd probably only recommend one because it's a lot of overload. What I will tell you -is that, they were so kind and inviting and it was unique and fun and I totally think it would be such a great place to go with a couple friends where you just want to have an interactive experience. if you have a child that is inquisitive definitely do it I totally recommend zombie experience Maybe it's just me but by the second one and the one that I took under the shaft underground I felt like an idiot because I couldn't figure out anything All I know is I would've given $100 for a gin and tonic. They were fantastic and lovely and it was a great experience for my child and our friends that celebrated his birthday Definitely do it! And this location was fantastic and their staff was totally on point! I loved that they completely sanitized everything and I mean everything, between each experience-and that meant a lot to me! During the debrief, we asked the game master how we missed to solve that portion. He said he noticed that it also happened to two other groups previously and that there was an issue on their end. Just frustrated because even though they knew it was something unsolvable for us, they didn't do or say anything sooner.We ended up running out of time.. There was acknowledgement but no accountability. The experience could've been better. read more

I love doing escape rooms! I've done two of the escape rooms here and had a great experience both times! They have fun props and had detailed setups. The puzzles are fun, varied, and provide a good challenge. We definitely had a good time working together as a group. While we had to use clues both times, we managed to escape with time left! Escaped: - Master of Illusion with 5 adults (level 5 difficulty) - Trapped Below with 2 adults and 3 teenagers (level 4 difficulty) I'm definitely interested in coming back and trying their other rooms. Maybe with less people for an even bigger challenge. Also, I attended once during covid and it's very nice that that don't combine groups anymore, so you're stuck in the room with only the people that you came with. read more

Calling all adventure seekers!!! Our group had a blast in the Mutiny room and escaped with 20 minutes to spare. I love all the puzzles and clues to figure out, and the props and room look great! I felt like I was really aboard a pirate ship. My only issue was the room is smaller than most escape rooms I've done, and this can be an issue when grouped with others. There were times when it was hard to get to clues or the map because other people were crowded around that particular area. I also would have liked more chances to open locked chests. So I do feel the maximum in this room should be 6 for everyone to get the full experience. I would advise going as early as you can, because you are more likely to get a room to your group alone if you get there at open. I also wish there was an option for more to explore, such as an extra room like the Other Side escape room offered. It was alot of fun, but I think I will stick to the bigger rooms, especially when there are more people or chances of getting grouped with others. read more

Did the master of illusion room today in San Antonio. We were very disappointed. There were only two of us, but the room was incredibly difficult. The room atmosphere and prop design is excellent. We got stuck several times due to us missing a key on an open chest ( that's on us), but several of the puzzles didn't make sense. There was something that was triggered due to an action on our part but there was no audible clue and we spent several minutes trying the same thing before we gave up and asked for help. Most disappointing was the game mastering... several times we send 5 or more minutes just standing around, at a loss for the next clue. Most escape rooms will give some gentle prompts when you get stuck like this. We finally gave up as we got stuck on a directional lock, had the right info for the combo, but couldn't figure out the order ( we thought we had it according to the clues). We spent 7 of our last 12 minutes trying to open that lock, and finally walked out with 4 minutes left. We stayed in the lobby for a minute and no one came out, so I'm guessing the game master wasn't even watching our game. Overall, with a more attentive game master, this could have been an excellent room. As it was, I doubt we were even half way through, and extremely frustrated. My 11 yo wanted to do this w her friend for her bday. She chose the Halloween room, which I thought would be too scary but the employees were so awesome w them! The manager was a sweetheart and gave them clues and a couple extra minutes so they could finish, which they did. Anyways, they were all so awesome and sweet to my kids. This was a last minute decision before leaving to the airport to head back home. We are so happy we did because we had a great time. I would definitely visit them again and try all their rooms for a different experience. Rooms were fun and staff were friendly. It was myself, my wife and our two 10 year olds. We walked in without a reservation but they were accommodating. We did have to join another couple, Mindy and Nick, but they were great. We worked as a team and escaped with a little over 9 minutes to spare. We did ask for one hint to get us through. I would love to see the other rooms but unfortunately we live out of state. At the time of this review, prices were $31 a person on a Tuesday afternoon. We luckily had a pass left from our CityGo Card (you can find it on Groupon) that saved us a lot of money. This is ESCAPETHEROOMers first stop of our escape room tour in Texas. There was plenty of parking when we arrived at the complex. It was EXTREMELY hot that day and we were very excited to have an icy cold complimentary beverage on their comfy couch. You can choose from either a soft drink, beer, or a sparkling wine which is a nice touch on the customer service. This is the first place we've heard that allows you to bring drinks into the escape room... way to get the party started! As we peeked into the game master's control center (it's quite an interesting set up as all the customers can see through the glass door before they are led to the game room), we are happy to see that all of them are focused and organized as we were definitely not (beer has settled well in the tummy). The lighting and sound in the room definitely created the atmosphere that stuck with the theme. We only have a mere 60 minutes to find the antidote and escape the zombie apocalypse! We are happy to see the set design was very authentic. Maybe a few added zombie figure shadows might've even added a bit more creepiness (we've seen them utilized that pretty well in their Stone Oak's location's "The Cursed" room). The game flow was well done and it was pretty linear but there was a bit of searching that was required so some people can be designated to do that while others start solving puzzles. The only suggestion that we would have is that we're not use to using clues/keys for a second time after it's been used already, and we did experience a bit of that in this room so for experienced players I would definitely advise to be alert with that. This did not really hinder us from finishing the room before 60 minutes with just the two of us. We loved the two different endings this room gave for people who escaped and who didn't. My wife and I did the Illusion room and were very impressed by the production value, tech and puzzles. The only part we weren't as happy about was being placed in a large group of mostly inexperienced roomers. That being said we had fun and the people were nice. We did most of the puzzles and got a little help from the group. We just missed the room record by a few seconds so I think it could be done with 2 but know it's a large room with a fair number of puzzles. I definitely tecommend this location read more

Even the TEENAGERS had a blast!! We ALL had to use our critical thinking skills! The only reason we pulled out our phones was to use the flashlight. There are different rooms, each with a theme. We did the Master of Illusions room and that was fun! Getting everyone to participate wasn't like pulling teeth and they provide clues once if you get stuck. I highly recommend this place to anyone with a group of at least 4, whether they be an office team or a family with teenagers. In the end, WE ESCAPED! read more
