We were a little disappointed that it was only 1 room so it was relatively small but it flowed well and he had fun. The 2nd room was Horror on Hallows Eve and it was terrible. This was room 59 and 60 for us as we've done a ton of rooms in Los Angeles and this room made absolutely no sense. On top of that, we had to do the knives puzzle literally 10 times because one of them was messed up and kept doing the noise when you pull the knife out of the pumpkin when it was not taken out so it took a TON of time away from our game. We finally got it to work by holding the knife super tightly into the pumpkin until we completed the rest of the knives. We ended up not escaping the room like 5 seconds too late which was frustrating when this took up such a large amount of time for a defective puzzle. On top of that, the hint system showed up on a screen and largely didn't pertain to what we needed help with. We much preferred when game masters give you a walkie talkie so you can explain the section you need help with. Finally they charged us for a photo which is crazy. In over 60 escape rooms that we've done, not once have we been charged for a photo.

Super welcoming. Not robotic. Not reading from a script. They explained everything clearly, made sure we felt confident going in, and kept the energy up without overdoing it. What I appreciated most was how thoughtful they were outside the game itself. They gave us real recommendations for places to check out around San Antonio after. Not generic tourist stuff. Actual spots that made our night better. You can tell when people care about the experience versus just running a shift. Lauren and Hawthorn genuinely cared. It felt like they wanted us to have a great birthday, not just finish a time slot. If you're booking here, ask for them. They made it awesome.

We had a group of 9 trying to conquer Area 52. The hosts were very welcoming, and were happy to…read moreshare some insight on escape room games since most of were 1st timers. The game was started with them giving us general rules. And then the fun started! Once in the room, you watch a short video to give you insight into to what your mission is. Once you've started the game, they were in touch via 2-way radio the whole time. And they made clear that anyone could leave the room at any time, and rejoin at any time...which was cool, since we had some people worried about getting claustrophobic. Nobody had to use that option, btw. The clues were hard to find/decipher at times, but they try to lead you in the right direction over the 2 way radio. Plus, they give a certain allotment of clues that you can ask for. Once you get the jist of it, it gets easier......but nothing is simple. To think that Isaac, the owner, came up with the games on his own, is mind blowing! We came within TWO clues of solving the puzzle and escaping......SO CLOSE!!!!! My sons 4'8'ish and part of him isn't viewable in the video, let alone able to capture me. The employee even moved the camera prior. Lastly, expect to sweat. Took my daughters a couple years ago, great experience but my daughter (12yrs) told me she was seeing spots (heat). Brought yeti backpack this time with ice packs and ice cold water. Our reservation was first of the day. Room looked liked it hadn't been cleared in days of all the glass items (purposefully, dunno). Bring your own gloves, they had torn gardening gloves. We did Kids Mode, which offered more hints. If you've never done an escape room before, they put you in a room with puzzles to solve. As you solve the puzzles, you unlock more clues and additional puzzles. You have one hour to solve the final puzzle. When you get stuck, you can ask for a hint. Someone is watching you from hidden cameras, so they know what you need next. We made it out with five minutes to spare. It was fun! The place was clean, the challenge was creative, and the staff members were very friendly. One tip: it costs less on weeknights.

I quickly learned that time slots disappeared the longer I procrastinated. Tickets purchased... fingers, toes, and eyes crossed to have a splendid experience. There are 3 escape rooms which all have their own theme and you and your group have 60 minutes to figure it out. I knew I had to get their 10-15 mins prior to fill out waiver forms. Our person, I didn't get his name, but he was FAN-FRIGGIN-TASTIC! We had four people, but could be up to 10 (just might be a bit tight). In THE AGENCY room, we had to find keys, codes, secrets doors/drawers, LASERS, maps... a plethora of information. (Just can't record or take photographs) When it was our turn, our unique storyline was explained (pay attention) The first 10-15mins, you're to figure stuff out on your own, unable to ask for help until that time has passed. Once asked, we received our first clue! Yay!!! I bet your wondering "well did ya make it?" I'm definitely coming back here! Cristina and Nick were awesome hosts! We ended up being very late for our reservation but Cristina let us in anyway since we were the only group that day (it was a Monday). Nick came in after-hours to open up the axe throwing for us and was very patient with all of us, teaching us the ins and outs of axe throwing. Cristina hosted the escape room (The Orient Express), which was a murder mystery adventure. She was very accommodating and helpful even though we made her work late--on her birthday no less! This escape room was intense and anxiety-inducing, but such a great time. My friends and I did the…read morezombie room, and the actor playing the zombie was amazing. We were genuinely terrified the entire time. If you do this room, definitely pay attention to your surroundings. While trying to dodge the zombie, we ended up with a lot of self-inflicted injuries and bruises from running into things like a metal breaker box on the wall.
