Stay away from these BAGs. The owner is unprofessional and has horrible manners. You can't give me a transmission and I won't take it. Never have i spoke to anyone so rude to their customers like these clowns. I've read all the other reviews (here and on google) and they are basically singing the same song. Get with the program and man up boys - people don't pay for things not done. You guys sound like thieves - I feel for the people who've reviewed you and actually got scammed. My car was acting up, and I landed at Extreme Overdrive, while it ended up to not be transmission related the guys at the shop were able to repair for a reasonable cost and get me back on the road. They could have sold me a transmission and I would have been none the wiser, I appreciate their honesty here & would revisit the shop in the future. read more

This is the most unprofessional and poor work for a auto shop. We had a transmission done by them 2015 and they rigged up the transmission line by the ac condenser causing a bolt to damage it. When we took bill for repair due to their work they refused to reimburse us. Now with only 30,000 miles on this transmission it is not shifting correct. I am out $ 412 for ac repair and original cost of transmission $1900. I will never use or recommend this business to anyone. read more

Bought a rebuilt trans from Ken at Extreme Overdrive for an LS swap I was doing and everything was perfect. Had it delivered and installed and the transmission performs like a champ... it's rated at 500HP and I am in the high 400's so no problem. Any time I called Ken he was very helpful and responsive. Do not deal with extreme overdrive. I bought a rebuilt transmission from them had a problem with it after the transmission was working fine a 1000 miles. I tried to call ken, who I never talked to, and only through text he was very unprofessional and rude. He did not warranty anything, had to pay again to "hopefully fix the problem" only time will tell if it will last another 1000 miles. Go somewhere else. read more

UPDATED - Just wanted to update that my transmission is still working great. We've towed our 12k pound camper around the country and I've probably put 30k miles on it. I run a hot tune on my diesel with big tires and it still shifts perfect and temps stay right where they should be even on long grade pulls. I hope I don't have the same experience as the other reviewers but so far I am very happy. The transmission in my F-250 exploded on Tuesday morning. I got it to Ken's shop Tuesday after work. They had the transmission out of the truck and disassembled by Wednesday afternoon. They texted me regularly to keep me updated on what they found and where they stood. I stopped by unannounced Thursday morning to put my eyes on everything and found their assembly area very clean and organized and one of the guys working on the case. Even though I walked in the back door, once I told the guys who I was they were happy to show me the parts that failed on my transmission, the cleaned case, a table full of new parts and told me what parts they were waiting on to get it back together. Ken discussed options for upgrades to make my transmission stronger and after looking online his prices for the upgraded parts were as good as I could have bought them anywhere else. My truck was back together and ready to drive by Friday at lunch with an unlimited mileage / 18 month warranty. I don't know if they are the cheapest but I am as happy as I can be with the price, I am very happy with the service and we will see how happy I am with the results. read more

If I could give a - I would. We paid Ken at Extreme Overdrive $4500 to rebuild my 4L85E transmission. We paid for HIGH PERFORMANCE PARTS. In less than a week I was left stranded on the road, my tranny out. Called Ken, he found every excuse in the book to not cover us under his warranty. We shelled out another $1300 to have him fix again. Picked up my van and 2 days later... Tranny out again. I was stuck out in Orlando. Decided to take the van to a local transmission shop to check it out. We opened up transmission and was a BONE STOCK transmission. None of the parts that we ordered were in the transmission. Called Ken... He refuses to fix what he has done, he agreed to get me parts, I drove up to Jax to pick up my parts that I ordered... He handed me a box of used, refurbished parts. Called Ken again, says that is all he can do. I paid for a billet input shaft, he put a stock one, he refuses to provide me with the part I paid for and refuses to refund my money for the parts that were not provided. BESIDE THE FACT THAT HE IS SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL AND CURSES AT HIS CUSTOMERS BUT... THIS MAN IS A CROOK AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO CONDUCT BUSINESS IN FLORIDA. read more

Sent me a transmission for $1,300 with no 3rd gear and is going to charge me an additional $300 for delivery warranty replacement

Had Ken to build me a "BULLETPROOF" 4L60E as he advertised on Craigslist. He talked a good game saying this and that. Billet sundrum, Kevlar clutches, he said corvette servos are junk and $30. He said he uses$120 servos. Anyway I have a receipt with a list of supposably performance parts for a truck I was building. I got to put about 70 miles on it before it tore up. I had a local transmission shop repair it. Guess what AINT in my transmission, YEAH YOU GUESSED IT, NONE of the performance parts. Ken used what looks to be a big cut safety pin to keep open a valve for a shift kit. I have all the parts that came out. The bad part is the warrenty had expired before I got the truck on the road. Ken is a liar and a thief in my book. The only thing I got out of the deal was the stahl converter, because I picked it up myself. Don't be fooled by him. My Local shop said anybody can patch a transmission and keep it going and you'd never know because you cant see the parts because they are inside the transmission. I have noticed that Ken no longer advertises on craigslist. It's a crying shame that there are dishonest people like this. TO me it's a lesson learned, I just hope I can save someone else from the agony of going through what I had to. Like I said I have ALL the parts in hand and none where performance parts, ALL STOCK PARTS. read more

DO NOT USE EXTREME OVERDRIVE! I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! I had my transmission rebuilt by them back in august of 2017 which cost me around 3,000.00. My truck now is having problems and I take it over to them to have them look at it. To find that the owner Ken tells me it is not under warranty and my Body control module is messed up and it will cost me around 1000.00 to have it fixed. After calling around I found out that body control module is for everything on your truck except for the transmission and motor. That same day I took it to a different transmission shop to have them give me a second opinion to find out that its actually the Transmission control module. Which should have been fixed when they rebuilt my transmission. So now I am stuck paying 1000.00 for something that should have been covered under warranty. Still not knowing if this is the only thing he did not rebuild inside my transmission. So I could eventually have more problems. I did not read his reviews which from now moving forward i will ALWAYS read reviews. He has done this to several people and i would like for our community to know that he is committing fraud by not repairing a transmission that is under warranty and he is trying to place the blame on something else thinking that since im a women I will believe this and he could then again rip me off! I have asked him to provide me with a detail receipt of what was actually performed on my truck during this rebuild and he will not provide it to me! I paid him cash so I have no record of what was done! Please let our community know to not use this man as he is not an honest mechanic! read more
