They kept telling me that parts for my repair would come in "today" only to find myself having to call multiple times a day for over a week to confirm when to come in. Further, their communication and follow thru was poor as I never received promised callbacks. After a while, it felt like I was chasing them to take my money! Sigh. My beautiful car needed some body work because some two-bit nut job forgot, or probably more accurately never learned, how to drive and careened into the side of my car during their lane change. I think it left me more of an emotional wreck looking at the damage to my beauty than the actual damage to the car itself. I have never been a fan of body shops, I mean let's be honest, pretty much all of them have a bad name. I love my car and the last thing I want to do is leave her with some team of guys who might ... or might not, put her back together as good as before. Then one clear sunny day, through a stroke of pure unadulterated luck, I was referred to Exxel by a friend. It took some convincing because I was hard pressed to trust a body shop with my beloved beauty... but I am sure glad I did. Andy and his team were phenomenal. They do precision work, like heart surgeon level precision. You could not tell that just a couple weeks prior she looked like a washed up star from yesteryear. They also made my life easy, pick up/drop off at the Enterprise around the corner = no stress express for me. They dealt with the insurance company so the process was as smooth Tennessee whiskey on a cold winters day. I mean seriously, what more could I ask for, right? Well let me tell you... that was 2017, just the first time I took my beloved car there. 2018 has not been a good year for this love of mine. Not once, but twice this year some wing nut, half blind, doesn't deserve a license to drive driver decided to try and take out this one piece of joy in my life. After a minor rear-end collision I just wanted to make my car safe to drive - I didn't want to spend a ton of money and I didn't REALLY care about how it looked. Yoram helped me do exactly that. He is respectful, kind, transparent, and works quickly. I can not recommend Exxel Collision enough! Immediately after my accident he gave me an estimate and had his guys tape my front lights back in place and used a bungie cord to tether my hood down safely. He gave me a quick time frame for the repairs and even let me drop my car off and keep it at the shop for longer because I needed to be out of town. Andy was referred to me by a trusted mechanic that I love and respect. So naturally, I thought we were in good hands. My boss and I had a consultation with Andy in which he stated "I can do pretty much anything." We said "great when can we start" Andy said "bring the car in tomorrow" So we did.... For several days we never heard from Andy- No quote, No call, nothing- so I stopped by on my way to work. The car was just parked in his lot for four days. I asked Andy about the quote and statement of work and he promised to email it to me by the end of the day so we can approve it- then he would start work. Next day- nothing. I call- no word from Andy..,He is MIA. His assistant said he would call me back...never happened. After a whole week of Andy having the car and no word from him, I stopped in again. I told Andy that it was unprofessional and rude to leave us hanging especially since he had the vehicle this whole time- a courtesy call or a follow up would've been considerate. He agreed and promised he would send the quote that day....again nothing. When I called he said that he actually did send it...but he was lying. After Andy repeatedly lied and had the car for over a week for no reason, I decided to pick up the car until he was actually ready to start working on it, which I figured wouldnt happen since thus far, Andy had proven to be completely unreliable. (Its not cheap to Uber and rent a car for a whole week- but clearly Andy did not care or consider that.) Once I took the car, Andy said we would hear from him by the following Monday with a quote and the scope of work....but we actually never heard from him again. Serious waste of time. BEWARE! Run away.. This place is the most unprofessional and dishonest business that I have worked with in my life. Andy will tell you everything that you want to hear, say yes, yes, yes so that you choose to do business with them, but then literally disappear and not return phone calls after the Insurance company makes payment to them. I had to pay over $1000 alone in overage rental car fees because they took so long after the initial 30 days that the insurance covered. I called everyday for 3 weeks and my calls were screened with no response. Andy was always away and "will call you back", yeah right. No one in the office is authorized to tell you the status of your car but no one will call you back, so you will get no information. When I finally did get the car back after almost 2 months by going down there and demanding my car, they returned it to me un-drivable, this is after $6000 in insurance payments. My car is now in another shop being fixed. Do not trust anything Andy tells you and please avoid this place like the plague! read more

I never write Yelp reviews, but I had such a positive experience here that I had to write about it. The known stereotype with body shops is that they rip you off, take too long, don't ever promise what they tell you, do the bare minimum and cheapest work, and change things on you last minute by adding services and costs. This place is the complete opposite of that experience, and I feel so lucky to have found it. They are 100% honest, well-priced, and actually care about the wellbeing of the customer by going above and beyond for them. A couple weeks ago, I was rear ended by another driver and ended up with a concussion. I had to take my car to a shop, but I couldn't drive so a friend was helping me out. I had heard about Exxel from a mechanic (Ronnie's Auto Service), so I called Exxel and spoke to Andy, who was extremely professional and explained everything very clearly. I showed up, and Andy made the entire process completely seamless. He took down some basic information about the other driver's insurance company and from that point forward, he interfaced with them directly to establish an approved estimate and deal with all of the insurance back and forth. He called up a nearby Enterprise rental car company and gave them all of the necessary information. Someone from Enterprise came to pick me up from Exxel (free of charge) and they were able to quickly process the rental car based on the information Andy had given them. All of these difficult transactions were taken care of without me having to do any complicated thinking (with my concussion) or stressful negotiation or spending a penny of my own money upfront (since the other driver had liability). Naturally the other driver's insurance company sent me a letter in the mail a week later, saying they wouldn't be covering $99 of the repairs. I called Andy to understand what was going on -- preparing to spend hours of time and energy arguing with the insurance company. Andy told me they would be taking care of that additional expense and that I would not need to worry. While the insurance company did not keep their initial promise of paying for the repairs, Andy and Exxel did keep that promise and saved me both money and stress. When I went to pick up the car, it looked like it was brand new. Only the bumper had been replaced but somehow the entire car looked new. They had cleaned both the interior and exterior and gave it to me in mint condition. There had been some prior damage on my front bumper, unrelated to the accident and which I was not intending to get fixed. But I was surprised to see that Andy had fixed it for me free of charge. If you need a body shop in LA, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. read more
