Eye & I is such a great place to get an eye exam and new glasses. Once you walk in you're greeted by the front desk and you can tell they have taken all the measures you need to have during COVID. Dr. Crystal Han is very sweet and makes sure to explain everything to you throughout the exam. Once your done with the exam you start picking out your glasses. They have so many trendy styles. Whatever you are looking for I'm sure they have it. Joe helps with this part and answers any questions you have. He's very friendly and makes sure you are happy with your purchase. Background: I have history of lasik surgery 10years ago but about a year ago I noticed that my visions were not the same as it was which was my worst fear. I had glasses made in Korea during the same time but I really wanted to get contacts to go out since I wasn't use to wearing glasses 24/7. i was originally going to a optometrist near by my house because i could walk there but didn't have the best experience. It just felt like they were trying to see many people as possible and trying to do too many things at the same time like a factory which led them to make the mistake of giving me the wrong contact prescription twice, but instead of checking my sight again, they said that it was due to my astigmatism (my astigmatism is mild). It would also take them anywhere form 1week to one month whenever they would have my new prescription ready so I was determined to find a new optometrist who knew what they were doing because I felt like i was just wasting my time whenever I went to this optometrist. This is how my husband found Eye & I. Place: Its a cute modern place that feels homey. I personally love the smell and the atmosphere. It feels less like a doctors office and more casual. You can tell that they have invested a lot into their equipments as well, its new and seems pretty high tech compared to optometrist I have previous been to. I also love the fact that this place is run by husband and wife and they definitely take ownership of the place because the day I made my appointment (my schedule is not the most flexible one because I am a resident) it's not the usual day that Dr. Han works but her husband called her in to see me which I greatly appreciated Dr. Han: Even though it was her day off, she took her time and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed during the appointment. She explained everything that she was doing and everything she found, which was reassuring to me. I learned that my cornea is flatter due to LASIK so it might take few tried to find the perfect contact for me which was never explained to me. I also found out that my vision was pretty off from what the previous place told me it was. The previous place gave me contacts that were -0.75/-0.75 and when that did not work, they gave me the same strength but added astigmatism to it which did not help. Anyone who wears contacts knows that adding astigmatism to the prescript will tremendously increase the monthly contact price. It turns out that my vision is actually -1.50/-1.25 thus why I could never see clearly with the previous script. Needless to say I was very happy to know that i could see with my new contacts and she gave me plenty samples for me to try. (Note: it was less than 6month ago when i saw my the other optometrist nearby my house) Overall experience: They were not pushy on buying their frame or even upgrading lenses. They just told me the facts, which was what my insurance covered. I had my own frames that I had brought with me and that's what they used to put in my new prescription. I had two frames that I wanted to use. One i had put in top of the line lens and the other one, i downgraded to the next best one. When my glasses were picked up, (depending on when you drop it off, it will take 1-2days on weekdays) they had placed top of the line lens on both because they really wanted me to have the same experience and be able to use both glasses (even though it was not their frame) which goes on to show you that they really do care about you as a person without any strings attached which unfortunately is hard to find. I really appreciated how much they did just for me and it really made me feel appreciated as a customer and a patient. This is a place that I would definitely recommended but yet a place I don't want anyone else to find out because its such a rare gem. read more

Absolutely amazing service here! The whole staff understands how to take care of their customers and their needs. The store itself is beautiful and you can tell they spent a lot of time/energy in renovating it to have such a welcoming ambiance. We came in a little bit early but it was no problem at all as Joe, the store owner, took care of us immediately and made sure we were able to take care of things like looking for a pair of glasses first. He was not pushy at all and was patient in explaining which type of styles would fit our faces best. I appreciated that he did not try any salesman tactics and just gave us the honest truth through the whole process regarding frames or lenses. It felt like a safe environment because everyone was wearing masks, temperatures were taken, and everything was clearly sanitized after being touched (including pens, glasses, equipment). When Dr. Crystal Han saw us - we were absolutely blown away by how friendly and warming her communication was. She wanted to make sure we felt 100% comfortable throughout the eye exam and had all the information necessary afterwards to get follow-ups done. Also this place is bi-lingual so if your friends, parents, grandparents need service in Korean - they are very capable in taking care of them as well, which is what my parents needed. The reception staff and Dr. Han are very professional. They communicate via email and text which is a plus and they are really responsive. The reason why I'm giving only 3 stars is due to my experience with Grace. I had a very similar experience with her last year too. I'm not sure what her role is but she was supposed to be helping me find frames based on my needs. After a few attempts, she seemed more interested in her phone and talking with other staff than helping me. I got the same feeling from her during our previous encounter. For that reason, I left without a new pair of glasses. I really hope this business does well but I'm afraid if Grace continues to operate in the same manner, I'd be reluctant to go back. read more

As a business owner, I've held off writing this review for quite some time. But after several attempts to recover financial damages - or at least come to an accommodation with this company - the time has come. About a year ago, after being examined and prescribed a new eye glass prescription by the pleasant optometrist here, I returned to purchase a pair of glasses from them. Off the bat, the manager and owner Joe scolds me for not having returned to his store sooner, and decides to provide me with a brief eyeglass fitting in the waiting area of the store! Next thing I know, and without discussing any options about the lenses itself, he provides me a bill for $1,089 for my new glasses (knowing of course I have vision insurance) and am shown the door. Not pleased, I phone Joe the next day and cancel this outrageously expensive order - and request that he services me properly and with care, and takes the time to discuss my lenses and buying options. No go. Joe refuses me as a customer! And tells me to have my glasses fitted somewhere else - and condescendingly adds that hey, thanks, I've helped him become a better optician! My concern, right? Well, I get my glasses fitted at another eye store only to find that the progressive prescription written by Eye And I is not good, particularly with my reading. Returning to Joe, he checks my new glasses and assures me that my prescription is fine (even though I see better out of my old pair of glasses). I tell Joe I'm out money for the bad pair of glasses, with his prescription - tough luck is his basic response. I went by a couple of months ago and spoke to him again about my frustration with our situation. Joe basically laughed me away. As a business owner, this situation with Eye And I is unfathomable. read more

I was looking for a more convenient eye doctor (my former one was on Northern Blvd in Flushing with terrible parking and traffic) and that place didn't have a doctor every day which was annoying. I found this place on Yelp and saw great reviews and it did not disappoint. Everyone I interacted with was super warm, friendly and genuine. Dr Han was so patient, answered all my stupid questions, and so nice. Dan was so helpful with my new frames and they gave 20% off if you ordered a years worth of contacts (which I always did anyway). I brought my own new frames in (I just always do) and would suggest you do so if you like designer frames - I didn't look but I don't think they do. I would recommend this place to anyone!
