dislike the ever changing flow of new workers because they always lose track of my information and they ALWAYS have a problem ordering me my contacts. From never completing my order to losing where my contacts are. The doctors are great! the old opticians are amazing! but the new workers need some guidance. I also bought a pair of glasses from an outside store and needed them to sculpt lenses to fit them and the day I recieved them, the left lens popped out and has been ever since. I've been coming here for years - at least 12 because I was a teenager when I first got my contacts here. But overtime they've gotten too busy I think. Their customer service has dramatically decreased, it's gotten more cramped as they've remodeled to fit more in their space, and my last attempt to have an appointment ended in me moving to another optometrist after it was rescheduled...twice. Once it was because they moved my appointment to another time without informing me, and the second was because the doctor was suddenly out of the office without a replacement. I'm done with the mall parking too and so I'm moving on to another more spacious, helpful, friendly, appointment keeping eye doctor. Had my appointment January 10th. Ordered and insurance covered pair or glasses and a spare out of pocket pair. The spares were supposed to have been in the week of January 21st and the insurance pair only a half week to a week later... it's now February 3rd. Almost a month later and NEITHER pair of glasses is in. I have to continuously call and they just don't know. They promise to call back with info in just a few minutes; and never receive a call back. I got a pair of high end frames with my prescription lenses. The lady was very pleasant. However, she did not care to see if they fit me right. After a while the bridge started hurting me and leaving a mark. When I went back another technician told me that I should have been fitted with narrower frames, but it was beyond the warranty time. I'll start by saying I've come here since I was like 15 years old(in those days I went to arden). This will be my last time. I went in February to order glasses. Since the appointment took SEVERAL hours I decided to come back and order glasses. I sat there with an optician for about 2 hours picking out glasses and getting my order together. He says I owe $46. I forgot my atm so he says call when you get home and pay the balance so we can order the glasses. I leave and call about 25 min later when I got home. Gave my debit info over the phone, confirmed they'd be ordering. I called about 3 weeks later to check on my glasses. They never ordered them!! They couldn't even find the order. She called him and he said he didn't remember me. I advised them I was definitely there, I even had pics of me trying on the glasses. They didn't end up charging my card that day either. So after back and fourth I went and paid the $46 in cash to solve the issue. I was told I'd get a receipt in my email. I never got one. I called every other day for several weeks to no avail. Finally got ahold of them and was told basically its whatever and they can refund me and I can kick rocks basically. I need my glasses so I deal with it and made sure they would order and she said they be expedited for the trouble.Didn't happen. Now were almost 3 months out and I call them and guess what my frames still aren't in and no glasses. I get there's a pandemic but if orders were done when they should've been done it wouldn't of gotten to this point. Literally, crazy. Oh I also never got my emailed receipt. My kids, parents, brother, basically all of my family come here and so does my boyfriend now. Not after this. The front desk lady was so rude. Also my boyfriends Oakleys were missing pieces but we dealt with it because I had spares from my glasses. Such a terrible experience. read more

I had been going to this place for the last 5 years. As of the last two it's just gone down hill. I was 15 minutes late for an appointment today due to traffic. The receptionist was incredibly rude and told me that they have a 15 minute cut off point and she would see if they could still take me. She returned after speaking with someone and said that she could squeeze me in but there would be a wait. Normally this would be fine, but the completely rude manner of this receptionist made me rethink this optometrist. I was already on the edge with them due to the fact they try to up sale you on all their crap and unnecessary procedures. read more

They are like Walmart when it comes to customer service. I went in their 3 times. Once when it was busy. So I can forgive. I used to work in retail. I know the pressure. I came back a couple days later. Each person ignored me. I was thinking maybe. I didn't look the part. I was wearing sweats. I came in again. I dressed nice. I smiled. I tried to make eye contact. Nothing. I am a rational person. I am not demanding. I am not a creepy person. I have money, and I have a job with Vision Insurance. I give respect until I am not respected. This place did not respect me. If you see glasses you like get the model# do a google search, find them cheaper. Have someone like Costco, Sams Club, or whoever do the rest. They're friendly, efficient, quick, straightforward, and they have a much broader and finer selection of glasses and sunglasses than all the other places i've seen. Such poor customer service. I walked in knowing exactly what I wanted but didn't know my benefits but I work for a big company with VSP insurance. Instead of looking me up, they just said, well, since you work for XYZ, you probably have this but I don't think that is covered. They didn't have the frames I liked but said they could order them. I said great. I asked if they can order and send them to their sister location on Fulton bc it'a closer to work. They said no. Offered no other solutions for me. Optician turned away and continued working. Even the receptionist wanted to see how she can help but after the optician said no, she looked at me and just said, oh I guess, sorry. I walked out and will never return. Terrible. If you don't want walk-ins, get out of the mall. read more

I came in for designer glasses and figured this would be the place to find a pair. Upon entering I was completely ignored. I didn't look frumpy and decided to just start looking at glasses anyways. Not one person offered help. I then decided to ask for help myself which was met with the employee still sitting and acting like I was bothering her. I eventually walked out. Here's my word of advice for the employees: you are making minimum wage if not a dollar more. Do not act like you are better than the customers who are paying your check. Beware! Moved to the area so needed to find a new eye doctor. First visit there was checked in by someone and sat around for a long time before they realized that he never really checked me in for my appointment. Then today came into seek some help as one of my contacts got stuck in my eye and won't come out. Explained how painful it was and need some help. They made me sit around for and hour. I finally left, no one saw me or helped, I will never return. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would never treat my customers in the store I manage like that ever. read more

These people are horrible. They robot text and email you about appointments they auto schedule without prior contact since previous appointment and call 3 days before their scheduled appointment. And better give up on trying to get a appointment less than a month out. Since they auto schedule, they are always booked unless someone calls and cancels the auto scheduled appointment. And if you try to talk to them about it, they get defensive and rude. The staff is unprofessional and seem more worried about their looks than actually performing their job. The optometrists seem nice enough, but when you are dealing with women who are too busy primping before they will address your existence, it ruins the whole experience. Also, be prepared to wait. Every time we go in, we have a hour or more wait past our appointment time before we are seen by the optometrist. This is also not a child - friendly establishment. They try to put themselves off as high class but I've received better service and products at Walmart. Both my husband's and my eye glasses both broke within 6 months of our purchases and they weren't even the same frame manufacturer! As for their scratch resistant lenses, mine got scratched when they tumbled from my foot high bed to the carpeted floor! Their anti-glare is more of a nuisance because after about a month, my husband's looked like they had rainbows on them. Both times, they claims our extended warranty purchases were no longer valid and told us we had to buy new frames and lenses at full price because our insurance would not cover replacements. I think I'll just stick to Walmart from now on. At least at Walmart, I haven't been treated rudely. read more

Had a perfect experience purchasing a pair of prescription sunglasses from Eye Design. Edgar was outstanding with helping choose the perfect frame and lens choices,( Maui Jim ). We were told that it would take about 2 weeks to receive them but they came in after just 1 week. Had exam there yesterday. Great staff. Quick paperwork. One exam to check vision range, then second exam with nice considerate doctor who asked numerous questions to make sure she got all the information about my medical conditions. Took her time. Talked about cataracts as my brother had issues with them. She checked that and also checked for glaucoma. Wonderful selection of eye wear. I like high quality eye wear as I realize that I'm going to be wearing them every day, so spending a few hundred on frames isn't out of my comfort zone. Their selection is great. Nice to have prescription there with frame so they can review past results and see how my eyes are changing. Won't be going anywhere else. Thanks for a great experience. read more

Be aware... If you take a pair of glasses in for repair or adjustment and get them back damaged (scratched lenses), they may not claim responsibility for the damages. One of their policies is, "If it was not bought here or under warranty through our store, we are not responsible for any damages that occurred during adjustment/repair." Now does that sound right? What happened to business integrity? Owning up to poor workmanship/repairs? I would have taken my glasses somewhere else had they mentioned their "policy" to me before I handed my $700 glasses over to them for a repair. After talking to the manager of the store, who did not sound very happy to have to talk to me, he did make it right and had my lenses replaced at no cost. Would have been nice if that was the first and only option. I give two stars to the friendly staff. The doctors I met with were very professional, friendly and helpful. They don't follow up with clients I ordered my glasses two months ago I had to go to the place to follow up with them and every time their response was we have no idea what happens let me follow up with manufacture, finally I said to them if I don't hear from you in a week I want my money back they asked for 50% as a deposit. There's an excellent selection of frames, the sales associates that help you choose are great with sense of fashion and style, and customer service with handling insurance coverages, etc. has always been very good. There is a bit of a wait to get the glasses, but well worth it. All of our glasses from here fit, the optics are correct and the styles of frames chosen are appropriate, look great, and work very well. I certainly can't say the same for other optical stores where in the past we tried buying glasses, no more!! We have been fitted and serviced for buying our glasses from here for 10 years now, and I have recommended this store to my friends and coworkers. We have enjoyed the experience of getting glasses here for myself, and my family. Looking for new glasses here was great fun and not a drudgery (thank goodness!!) and the staff is great with kids and adults alike. read more

Been a customer for several years and went in search of new frames today, which is always a daunting task. It's hard to determine what ones look the best on me and being a very particular person doesn't help the situation at all. I usually go in, try a bunch on and leave frustrated without buying anything. But, today was different. Tammy saw me looking and asked if she could help. I told her thank you, but I was just browsing. I went on looking and she came back up a few minutes later and said she'd really be happy to help me pick some out. She then asked what I was looking for and started pulling frames off the shelves. She spent a good hour with me telling me which ones best suited my face shape, fit the bridge on my nose and what her favorites were. She even checked online to see what other colors the designers offered and eventually helped me find the ones for me! Tammy was absolutely amazing to spend that much time with me and made me feel like she genuinely cared about what made me happy. I never once felt like a customer that was being sold on something that wasn't in my best interest, which I appreciate tremendously. That experience alone turned me into a loyal customer. I had a free prescription for Maui Jim sunglasses. In order to get my precription filled from Maui Jim, I needed to fill out a form and send directly to Maui Jim. I stopped by Eye Designs Optometry at the Galleria at Roseville hoping they had the pair of sunglasses I was going to receive in order for them to measure my Seg Height. When I walked in the person at the counter began to help me but said she was not sure if they had the sunglasses I wanted. Rose came out of a back office and inquired as to what I needed. Rose let me know they did not have the sunglasses I wanted. Another employee named Edgar came over and asked which pair of Sunglasses I was looking for. He also confirmed they did not have the ones I was looking for. Edgar offered to walk downstairs to the Sunglass Hut store in the mall in order for me to try on the actual pair of sunglasses and measure my Seg Height to ensure the prescription would be prepared correctly. Rose also took the time to explain the different lenses and color options which made it easier for me to fill out the form correctly. Both Edgar and Rose went out of their way to make sure I was helped even though I did not spend one penny in their store. This is great customer service. I was shocked to find such great customer service in todays times. I am recommending Eye Designs Optometry and will go back in the future as I have a need for glasses. We have been going here for years but unfortunately we have had a terrible experience recently. On June 14th we had our eye exams. My son wanted to keep his Frames so we just sent for the lenses. We have had to send them back now for the 4th time. Now 2 months later he still doesn't have his new lenses. The problem has been minimized as to the fact this is their mistake. At one point I was told this was happening due to them needing his frames for it the lenses to be cut correctly. After sending them back on the third time I was assured by Rose it would be correct this next time. However when we went to pick them up last night they still did not fit. So my husband had to buy him new frames and lenses. We will not be going back once this is finally corrected. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I ordered new glasses for my husband and I 3 weeks ago. His were in on Thursday last week. I was lied to last week on 4 occasions when I was told mine had shipped. The lab read the order wrong supposedly and they blamed the mix up on the lab. They told me they take 2 days to arrive from the lab and that mine had shipped. They should have been in last Friday. I checked with them on Saturday again and they told me they hadn't received the shipments for that day yet. I called today and the lady on the phone said they do not get deliveries on Saturday. When I asked to speak to a manager, she took the call on speaker phone and when I asked to be taken off speaker phone (which is bad phone etiquette) she argued with me. She put me on hold and left me for over 3 minutes. I finally hung up and called back. I have asked for the glasses to be sent to my house. I never want to go there again. read more

Unprofessional & poor customer service. No one ever picks up the phone for patients to schedule there exam. I call several times during normal business hrs all you get is the voicemail. I finally get a call 2 days later. I booked an appt at this location for an eye exam show up at 6:30pm for my appt and they tell me it is at 1pm when the girl who confirmed called me to tell me it is at 6:30pm. Mistakes like this is very troublesome especially for someone who works a lot. It would have been nice if they offer a solution to compensate for there mistake but did not. First, Dr. Emily Huynh, O.D. was very kind and knowledgable! She made this place earn these two stars. I've been here once before, 2 years ago, and had Dr. Murphy and he was nice and knowledgeable. Like last time, the staff was unfriendly and rude. I looked at the website's picture for the staff and they are different then what I saw in the office. Because of this experience, I will not return to this location. I liked their selection of glasses, but being made to feel unworthy, uncomfortable, and unwelcome is not worth it to return. This location needs to get their act together or less people will continue to give them their time and business. read more

I have VSP and on a whim I chose this place. I scheduled my appointment online which was really easy and they got back to me right away. My appointment was on a busy Saturday. Although it was busy, I was well taken care of. Dr. Fong was easy to talk to and very kind. Jason helped me pick out my frames. He was really patient and helpful! Last week, I was clumsy and dropped my sunglasses, upon getting out of my car, and accidentally stepped on them...They were completely bent out of shape.
