She takes extra time to check each patient's eyes and I was happy about it. It turned out my husband could get reading glasses at CVS and that's where she directed us to. Today would be the third time I come to Eye Max for a pair of glasses. Ive always loved coming here. Yet this third time I finally had health insurance and luckily would not have to pay for my new pair of glasses. As thrilled as I was, the doctor definitely was not. She did not give me the same service she had given me prior to having insurance. Having insurance meant I was not going to pay anything and I guess she did not like that. She was condescending. I was also upset at the fact that they have access to giving me my glasses within 20 minutes max when I come to pay for them but now because I have health insurance and they are free, she hits me with "call back in 3 weeks". I just think its rude treating people different when they aren't going to be handing you money. read more

First of all, the place was very old looking or vintage if you see it that way. There was only an old Korean couple working there. They weren't too friendly or rude. The eye exam was $40. And the contact exam was $80. I asked if there's a discount if I did both, and he said no. So I decided not to do anything here. However, my boyfriend got his eye exam and put prescriptions in a frame he brought. There's a $10 charge if you bring your own frame. So he paid $80 for his glasses + eye exam = $120. The service was meh. No extra or kind service was given like samples. We just got the eye exam and got the glasses and went out. Getting his glasses done took like 5 min or so. It was super fast that's for sure! We came here because it had good reviews in yelp, but it was a downer for me. The only pro was the deal $100, cheap eye exam, and fast process. The cons was that the service was okay. Not amazing. Not the service I would come for again. Later I went to Eyeland, which was the bomb. I recommend Eyeland over Eye Max anytime. They have the same $100 deal there too but more glasses to chose from, more modern, and GREAT service. I gave them 5 stars. read more

Dr. Han is very knowledgeable and patient. She checks to make sure your prescription is accurate and is able to relatively quickly figure out what your prescription should be. She is also big on taking care of your eyes cleanliness and health, which is especially important if you wear contact lenses. She's also really funny and lighthearted, and makes the experience of going to the eye doctor less excrutiating! She helped me pick out a really nice Dior pair of glasses, which fit me perfectly and looked really stylish. She does a good job of listening to the style of frame you want, and also pays attention to detail like making sure you get a frame that doesn't require your lenses to be too thick (if your frame is too wide, the lens will be much thicker on the outer edge). Price-wise, she is also really competitive. Most major insurance providers are accepted, and if you're paying out of pocket the prices are really reasonable. I paid $200 for my exam, frame and lenses all together. All in all, it was a really good experience and I plan on going back to Dr. Han, even after I no longer live as near as I do now! read more

I love Dr. Han. I went went here for 2 pairs of frames and lenses, and contact lenses, when I worked in the building down the street. A bunch of people from my old work went there and loved it, so I gave it a try. Dr. Han is so pleasant and knowledgeable. She is probably the most congenial optometrist I've ever met. She's very helpful and will guide you to finding frames that suit your face shape. There is a decent selection of frames in a wide variety of price ranges. Prices for exam/frames/lenses are very competitive. The only downside is that I'm not aware of any free parking nearby. I think it's all lots and metered parking. read more

Amazingly fast! Called day of and got an appointment. They're having a special $100 for contacts and eye exam or $100 for eye exam and glasses. I'm not sure how that works, but it won't work if you have terrible vision like me :( Glasses are ready within the day, contacts ready within a week. Comparable pricing to Costco, but this place is more personal and they will keep your file on hand after your first visit. Optometrist was knowledgeable and fast. My son and i walked in and immediately greeted by the really nice lady. Instantly she handed each of us a pair of frames to try on and may i say that she has the "i know what will look good on you" vibe. She was patient with us unlike the other shop called Optiks where the guy stood only about a foot from where i was standing and i get the vibe that he thinks i will steal from him. I had scheduled an appointment for an eye exam. I had called to verify if they took my insurance. I told them the insurance I have and the lady stated they do accept it. So I show up to my appointment and presented my insurance card. She handed a clip board with paper work but as soon as she saw my card she told me not to fill it out. I started looking around at the frames. She then proceeded to show me a certain selection of frames to pick from. I informed her I have a certain allowance for the frame and I can select any frame and just pay the difference if I exceed my allowance. She tells me that's not correct. I told her I work for the insurance company and I am well aware of my benefits. After seeing how hard headed she was because she wanted to argue with me I told her I will just do the exam and I'll get glasses somewhere else. She straight out told me no if you don't buy glasses we won't do the exam. She denied me an exam! This place is so unprofessional and the lady was so rude. read more

So I normally don't post reviews much but I feel like after a couple years of coming to see Dr. Erin Han and Charlie Choi at Eyemax Optometry it was time for me post something. I found Eyemax just July yelp and decided based on the great reviews I read to give them a shot. Well 2 years later and this was one of the best decisions I've made regarding the health of my eyes! Dr. Erin is extremely professional but also very polite and gentle in her mannerisms. She really takes the time to listen and does thorough eye exams whether it's for contacts or glasses. She is super patient and understanding in your needs for eye wear. She has NEVER come across as rushed or disheveled, she really is passionate about what she does and that flows over into how she treats her patients. My eyes are picky when it comes to contacts and she has allowed me to try samples of different lenses until we found the right one for me. I also had Charlie put in new lenses for my glasses and they were perfect fit! Not sure what the doctors name is, but I surely had a kind and quick service. Doctor answered all of my questions, even the silly ones. I think the examination takes about 10 minutes or less and you might want to call ahead just to make sure. Prices are great too, it was only 40 to get prescription! I love this place! Just visit yesterday since a few years, been coming here since i was smaller. I forgot the Dr's name but she has been the same one since i came in she is super friendly! Every time I go here I have a positive experience and fast service. There is a promotion for eye exam and glasses for $100. If you bring in your own frames and need to replace the lenses it is $70 but within the current eye exam period. There's meter street parking right in the front. read more

I had the best experience here today! I was recommended to come here by a friend because I needed glasses fast and she said that this place makes them the same day. They closed at 5pm today and I got there just in time. Dr. Erin greeted us when we walked in and was very friendly and warm. As I was looking at the frames Charlie came from the back and greeted us warmly also. I asked if I would be able to leave with my glasses even though it was so late in the day and they said yes! So I called Costco, had them fax over my prescription, and in TEN MINUTES my glasses were done!! I called so many places before I came here and they all said 7-10 business days; I went to three LensCrafters and none of them had the style I was looking for. I came here and in 20 minutes time I had new glasses for a great price made by wonderful people. They were smiling the whole time and made us feel so welcome.
