My doctor, Laura Bealer, is very thorough, knowledgeable, and takes the time to not only explain things, but to listen to her patients. I recently had cataract surgery with her, and she was great! The follow-ups were thorough, and she addressed all of my concerns! Today, after the eyewear people next door made a mistake and gave me the wrong glasses, I tried to get a copy of my prescription from the front desk and was referred to Jonathan. I explained my dilemma to him, and he was amazingly efficient, clearing things up in a few minutes. He went above and beyond, explaining prescriptions and smoothing ruffled feathers with the eyewear people. He was friendly, courteous, professional, and extremely helpful! read more

The third and fourth i was transferred to voice mail . never received a call back. I went in and was given the wrong prescription. I am located in Decatur, GA. My family switched eye physicians to this group in Decatur. There were two reasons for this change. The Eye physician we used for years, retired, but they had other physicians there. The main reason too, was that it was next to impossible to get in touch with the office in between appointment times. HOWEVER...we are now finding the same exact situation with Eye Physicians & Surgeons in Decatur, GA. This morning, July 13, 2026, I have tried with 3 different phone calls to reach anyone in the office, or even leave a message. The first phone call, I was on hold for 13 minutes, someone answered and immediately hung up. The second phone call, I was on hold 4 minutes, someone answered and immediately hung up. The third and final attempt to call, I was on hold 11 minutes, finally was able to leave a voicemail & we shall see if someone returns my call in a timely manner. It is so frustrating that it's so hard to get an appointment or change an appointment at this Dr.'s office. Deeply unpleasant experience. Basic eye exam took 2 1/2 hrs and the contact lens shop was closed by the time I was ready for my contact fitting, so they told me I would have to schedule and pay for a second appointment. Lobby was loud and disorganized at check-in. Technician was clearly new to the job and messed up my refraction to the point another staff member had to come in and finish it. The actual exam with Dr. Menon lasted about 10 minutes and was fine, but every other piece of this visit ranks as one of the worst services I've ever received. Will not be returning for that contact lens fitting! read more

I brought my 2.5-year-old son here to see Dr. Weeks after a referral from our pediatrician. The waiting room was extremely chaotic and brimming when we entered; we then waited over 90 minutes for a five-minute exam with the doctor. After nearly two hours in the office, we were told he was too young to participate in the visual exam and to come back in six months. We were also advised to book first-thing-in-the-morning or early-afternoon slots if we wanted to avoid long wait times. Hope this review can help others considering if/when to bring their child here. I also hope it can encourage office admin to treat patients better with more respectful scheduling and shorter wait times. read more

I am writing this review to give a shout-out to Mr. Bobby who was my attending medical technician for my afternoon appointment. He displayed amazing patience while providing my eye examination as they are often nerve-wracking. He ensured that nothing was rushed while I was trying figure out which prescriptive lens would work best with my eye sight. At the end of the examination, I was thoroughly satisfied with the prescription that was most accommodating to me, which is often a hard resolution to achieve with eye exams. Don't go here. A routine appointment will take all day. After waiting 7 weeks to get a callback, I had to call in multiple times with lengthy holds to speak with someone. Their scheduling department is a joke. They don't follow up like they say they're going to. After gaining approval of my fathers insurance to have cataract surgery performed, this office booked multiple pre op appointments only to be told once it was time to schedule the surgery that their surgery center is NOT in network. Why did they book multiple pre op appointments with the goal of my father having cataract surgery there only to tell us just before it was time to schedule that the surgery center is not covered and asked if my dad had other insurance options or wants to pay out of pocket? This place is doing some shady business. Don't waste your time here. The doctors are ok, but the entire office is a joke. Every time I brought my father, I saw people angry with the front desk. When I came to pick my glasses,Pam attended me quickly and efficiently. She did a great job.

The reception desk on 12-9-2026 demonstrated poor customer service. Upon our arrival we waited in front of the desk for 8 min. Shera and the access supervisor Kristin did not even acknowledge us at all. It was only after I asked where did we needed to go to check in Shera pointed to a clip board on the counter and said sign in we will call you. We sat down about two minutes a customer came in walk up to the counter Shera waited on her for 4 min. At this that point I approached the counter again and asked Kristin the supervisor if they were calling any more customers. She asked for the name. She then said oh I was about to call her. The check in is terrible, employees are casually sitting around conversing with each other. They don't acknowledge customers when they stand in front of them. Shera was very unprofessional giving short answers and treating us like we were invisible. No employee should feel entitled to treat people disrespectfully. What is important to customers is not your position, but your disposition. They way we are treated. Training in Customer Service is recommended. read more

This particular location is awesome. I normally take my elderly Mom to her appointments here and they are ALWAYS patient, courteous helpful and on point. I too wear glasses, so I will normally browse the eyeglass department. Today I wa assisted by Mr. Cam who took his time explaining each matter I was concerned about and for the one matter he wasn't 100% sure about he reached out to another of his team members to provide me the information I needed to make my decision - I'm normally seen at the VA for free (yet the VA doesn't carry the glasses I am looking for). but I will be getting my next purchase from the Eye Physicians & Surgeons eyewear shop. Optometry staff are nice. Front office medical staff range from competent to horrible, mostly indifferent and surly. Poor communication and service skills. No apparent guidance to treat patients respectfully or adhere to HIPAA standards. Standard of care here overall is pretty dreadful. Way overbooked, poor communication from physicians, ridiculously outdated website and answering service for any reasonable expectation of communication. Medical support staff appears to be doing its best but the docs manage this practice very badly from a patient's point of view. read more

Every aspect of this eye glasses purchasing experience was five star. Working with Corey and Makayia to find my baby her very first pair of glasses was phenomenal. They were communicative and customer service oriented. Even when we went to pick up another pair, they noticed her glasses were sliding down her face and they took it upon themselves to find a strap that first her better. My visit to this business earlier this year was my welcome to the world of eyecare, and unfortunately it was not the greatest. Rather than them treating me like a patient with unique needs and concerns, I felt like they saw me as an input in their revenue-generating machine. After not needing glasses into my 30s with 20/10 vision, my eyesight suddenly became blurry over the course of a few weeks, with multiple periods of 2-3 days in between where my vision was normal. I was worried something was wrong, so went to my primary care doctor. At my doctor's office, I did the read the letters eye test and she said without knowledge of why my vision was blurry, it appeared I needed glasses, although the sudden and nonlinear deterioration of my eyesight was concerning. I had spent the few weeks prior working long days at my computer, and also didn't have the best diet, so my doctor wasn't sure if this was normal vision loss with age or something related to fatigue, blood sugar, or maybe a more serious condition. She called around and these folks were able to get me in same day to make sure nothing was wrong. We clarified when we scheduled and then again at the visit that my concern was ruling out serious causes of my rapid and intermittent vision loss. Again, I knew nothing about eye doctors, having never been to one, and I explained that when I arrived. After waiting for 30 minutes or so in the lobby, I was brought back and asked questions that felt like a normal vision exam. I brought up that I didn't know that I needed glasses, I just wanted to make sure my eyes were ok, but the woman giving the exam wasn't too interested in that, she just kept saying that the doctor would take a look. So we do a whole series of testing and lenses and everything that I assume is normal for most folks, but was new to me. Then Dr. Dhingra comes in, looks quickly in my eyes and says they look great, he'll give me a prescription. I finally get the chance to explain my symptoms and what was happening, now after being at the office for well over an hour, and he says something to the effect of "Oh yeah, that is concerning, you'll want to get your blood sugar checked with your primary care physician." Don't get me wrong, Dr. Dhingra is a nice guy, but the whole process felt entirely transactional. They didn't consider how I might be different from other patients, having never been to an eye doctor, and they didn't talk to me about my health concerns until the very, very last 1-2 minutes of the appointment. Before leaving, I was given my prescription (-1.00, -.50) and thought it would be good to have a pair of glasses on at least to help in the short term if this was something that would shake out eventually. I went to the glasses section, explained that I had never purchased glasses and didn't know much about the process, and asked for some recommendations. Immediately, as if he didn't hear what I had just explained, the older gentleman goes into a sales pitch, telling me that lenses are included with the glasses unless I get something extra but the frames range quite a bit in price. I thought to myself: why wouldn't the lenses be included with the glasses?? I know better now, but this too felt very transactional and a pitch not catered to me. Also, I'm already in your shop ready to buy glasses, I don't need a sales pitch, I need your help. Ultimately, I went to a different glasses shop and received much more tailored attention and advice after explaining my situation. It turns out my vision fluctuation is at least exacerbated by fatigue, as when I have a couple consecutive days where I don't stare at a computer screen, it just about goes back to where it's been my whole life. Personally, I've found that there are places nearby with more thoughtful employees, so can't recommend that you visit here instead. I don't know how their prices for eyeglasses stack up, but I'd pay a premium to feel like an individual rather than wait in line to be sold to and ignored. read more

I came to this practice for a second opinion concerning cataracts. I saw Dr. Laura Beeler. She was very thorough and answered all of my concerns. We decided that the cataract surgery could wait , unlike the other eye doctor that wanted to go ahead with the surgery right away. I appreciated her honesty. All of the staff were very friendly. I decided to get a new pair of glasses and Derrick that helped me is awesome. I would highly recommend this business. I am happy that I found a great business to take care of my eyes. read more

As a physician I know the difference between good medicine and bad; I do not consider personality as I know and have had plenty of excellent MDs with no bedside manner and vice versa. This group makes everyone wait an hour and a half before being see; while the staff is nice, one is breezed in and out of the ophthamologist; and given vague instructions. I have epi-retinal membrane, which Dr Dhinga recommended consult with a retinaologist: OK, that's fine, I probably will consult. However, the previous doctor Isaw there also the stripping procedure because of poor positive outcome (which you can onfirm on the internet. But the capper is I walked out with an incorrect prescription for my contac lenses. Both were the same R for both eyes (instead of my running prescription for different contacs for the two eyes. The woman (she is not a professional) who "fit " my lenses was confusing and non-specific and wrote down that I requested that both contacs be the same. I put in my current lenses, checked them quickly and determined my lenses fit. 60 dollars. Hmm, when else have I paid sixty dollars for negative service. AVOID THIS PRACTICE. My husband and I have both been patients for several years and have never had a bad experience. That goes for regular exams, glaucoma treatments and cataract surgeries. The staff is friendly and efficient. I'll give a special shout out to Bri, an ophthalmic assistant. She's always cheerful and efficient yet explains everything she's doing so you know what's going on and what to expect. Dr. Shah is also very good. He explains things clearly and I have never felt rushed or dismissed. read more

I have been receiving eye care from Dr. Paul McManus at this facility for over 20 yrs. He has performed cataract and glaucoma surgery on me, with no issues or complications. Dr. McManus' has always been very kind and patient and needless to say he has taken very good care of my eyes. I have referred several friends to him and they are also pleased. Dr. McManus is retiring after almost 40 yrs of practice. I hope that I will continue to receive this same level of care from his replacement! Last but not least , yes, occasionally I have had longer waits to be seen. However, what is more important than your eyes and sight? I feel that the wait times have been compensated by the excellent care that I have received. Dr. McManus, enjoy your retirement ! Well deserved.! read more

Worst experience in my 50+ years on this earth. Wish I could give 0 stars; And then that would be too high. I took my mother to an eye appointment here today and she will never return to this place. The receptionist was rude and repeatedly asked in a loud voice (as to embarrass her-talking about HIPPA-PHI violation) about my mother's medical information and financials even after answering her questions the first time. Then the nightmare continued when Dr. Thomas entered the room. He was rude, condescending, argumentative, aggressive, and loud. I will be filing a report. He stormed out of the room and a nurse entered to ask if everything was ok and agreed that his "bedside manner was not the best" Is this how patients are addressed? I hope no one sends their elderly love one there to endure such horrible treatment. It saddens me to think that my mother has been coming here and to have "professionals" treat her this way. read more

This review is specific to the Surgery Center. I am extremely disappointed in the level of care they provided for both my left and right LPI procedure. 1) They do not want patients in their main waiting room, signage on the door tells them to wait in their vehicles. 2) They do surgeries in assembly line fashion. When you check in, you stand in a line for them to take payment behind a glass window and are then sent back to an ER type environment where the first bay is set up with stackable chairs. There were 9 in line at my first appointment and about the same for the 2nd. 3) They call you into a small closet sized office to take vitals and go over procedure. This is within hearing distance to those waiting so there is little privacy. For my 2nd procedure, there was a snafu in the paperwork and they were expecting to do the right eye again. 4) On my first visit, they came around with a portable eye pressure tool to take the test while I was sitting in the group. For the 2nd visit, they didn't have the eye pressure tool available as they left it in the other office so this was not checked pre-procedure. 5)When called for the laser procedure, it is performed in that same little room where everyone was checked in. There was office supplies laying about and a box on the floor. I told them I was feeling apprehensive and was told that was understandable. No, I clarified, I'm apprehensive about having surgery in this unsterile environment. I was told not to worry, this was not surgery, just a little laser. Until that point, in my mind, I was there for laser surgery. 6) For the first visit, the Dr. was in a meeting and so they numbed my eye 3 times while waiting. Leaving my eye feeling gunky and lashes sticking to me. 7) After the procedure, they have you sit in a chair in the hall next to the bathroom and in front of the exit door. After maybe 5 minutes the first time, they came and took my eye pressure and let me go and offered me shades as an afterthought. For the 2nd visit, since they didn't have the eye pressure tool, they took my BP and was going to send me out. I questioned this as everything I read indicated eye pressure must be checked about 20-30 min. post procedure. They offered to take me next door to the clinic to check my eye pressure as soon as they could. When I was taken over, the tech was alarmed at the number (28)and said that I needed to stay and speak with the Dr. once all his surgeries were over. I was left in the clinic waiting room. Once he was available, he took me to a room and apologized for the paperwork snafu and talked about proactive steps to avoid that situation in the future and asked if we were good. I said no, I was still there because the tech was alarmed at my eye pressure. He was taken aback and when I told him the number he said there was no reason for alarm that it's typical in laser procedures for the cells to temporarily block the drain and it would return to normal soon. He said because they had changed my appointment by a day, the surgery clinic wasn't staffed appropriately and this tech didn't normally work lasers and had made a mistake alarming me. I will say, that that tech was the nicest and most personable and caring of anyone that had seen me. I am appalled at the assembly line approach to medicine where you are simply a fee charged and not a person. read more

Lately I have had vision issues with my dominant eye at close and far ranges. Since I had Lasik surgery around 9 years ago (not at Eye Physicians) I googled eye care facilities close to my home with general and lasik eye experience. Eye Physicians and Surgeons was close and it was easy to get an appointment. The Good: The checkin staff was friendly and very helpful. The technician I dealt with was awesome. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Did an excellent job answering any of my questions. The Bad: Dr. Laura Bealer must of had a bad day leading up to my visit. I explained my recent issues and asked for the options available to me. She was very impersonal and obtaining information was like pulling teeth. Her exact words were "It would cost thousands of dollars to perform an adjustment on the one eye". When I asked why the cost was so high (since the original cost was only a couple thousand for the eye) she used some weird broken leg analogy. She also said they didn't perform adjustments (which I asked about with the location before making the appointment) and gave me a non working phone number for another doctor. In the end, I wasn't asked if I had any questions. It was "See you next year for your follow up exam". I left feeling confused and had no more answers to my options then when I walked in. My bad experience isn't due to wait times, facility or general staff. They were all great. My experience is due to a doctor who was very impersonal and lacked an the ability to answer general questions about a patients options. I guess a plus is I did get an eye exam (although I have since scheduled another exam with a Lasik specialist). read more

I went to this location for a new glass prescription. Tons of patients and staff with waiting areas spread up and down the hallways. The first doctor reviews my images and told me I needed cataract surgery because they were causing my visions issues. Not much explanations about the cataracts, just "wait to see the surgeon." Then they sent me to a office staff person to review the procedure and costs, then sent me to the eye surgeon who explained the surgery/lens options and cost out of pocket, which was extreme (I have a nursing friend that manages a surgery eye center on the GA coast who reviewed the cost and said it was higher that most she's seen.) Then I was sent to another office to schedule and review insurance for a 2+ hr visit total. Then I had to go back a second time for measurements because they said I had dry eye. More expenses. They wanted to schedule surgery, but I had to have an EKG done first, yet another expense. This place was churning out huge volumes of patients and it just felt wrong. I had been seeing a different eye doctor that had never found any cataracts prior to this visit but changed insurance and needed to try someone in network. I decided to get a second opinion from a different cataract surgery specialist in Atlanta. I was in and out within 45 minutes. They did several tests, then the specialist reviewed my eyes. I learned cataracts are graded from grade 0 to grade 4. My cataracts were barely GRADE 0!!! The doctor gave me a new glass prescription, explained various options for dry eyes, along with a prescription for dry eyes and I was told I was not a candidate for surgery for at least another 5 years probably. That was an option down the line, but the doctor wanted to try a new prescription before any other options and recommended a couple of frame shops for me to take my prescription to. Totally different experience. Eye Physicians should be called Eye Mill if 2 doctors agree to try to talk you into a surgery you don't need. Trust your gut. Get a second opinion! read more

After 21 years as a patient of Dr. Laura Bealer, three eye surgeries and what I perceive as assembly line medicine, I will no longer be obtaining eye services from jointly owned Eye Physicians & Surgeons, PC, and EPS Surgical Center LLC. Despite my extended history with both organizations, they sent me to collections for $17.50, without so much as a courtesy telephone call. The worst communication breakdown between my Dr. I've stated during my one week post op of my second eye and experiencing blurred vision, disorientation and dizziness. I'm not seeing correctly out of both eyes and have expressed this to both my Dr and the Dr covering for her while she's out of the country. I have received horrible customer service, especially with their head of surgical coordinators, who belittled me in her office while she then proceeded to call the surgery center and scream very inappropriately at them while making me very uncomfortable. I can't get any call backs or straight information from my Dr and only billing department is willing to speak with with me to make my payments. What a very unprofessional treatment by a medical facility and you should be aware of the poor service level your patients are receiving. It's no wonder EPS has poor online reviews. read more

I have read all the reviews on here and nothing can be farther from the truth. I had the best eye exam I have ever had here, I had eye exam in three states and totaled roughly 15. They treated me courteously, professionally and in a timely manner. Dr Dhingra, all of his tech and nurses are all 10 out of 10. They explain everything and then answer every question i had.The waiting room, exam room, Post op, pre op and operating room were spotless. I had a bad experience at an eye clinic and was recommended to Eye Physicians & surgeons, by a close friend. After my first exam I decided to look up reviews to see what people say about them and was completely shocked. I was about to cancel my surgery when I realized nothing that anyone had said was true. Dr Dhingra and his staff have restored vision in my eye after being completely blind in it. I praise and will continue to praise him and his staff. read more

Well these low reviews are well deserved. They schedule a ton of appointments apparently because they've got tons of people here waiting. The problem is that you're waiting to wait some more. Why don't some of these healthcare providers respect our time as patients as much as they want us to respect their time? Stop double booking! Be available when you say you will be available.
