I've seen Dr. Brillante for my last two eye exams. Dr. Brillante is very nice and so is his staff. I had an issue with my contact lenses, and they scheduled a follow-up visit within a few days. At the follow-up visit, my contacts were switched to another brand, and the office staff managed the switch for me. Prior to my appointment, I asked that they obtain a trial pair of colored contact lenses, and they agreed with no problem. I've been wearing glasses since I was 14 and contacts since 18. My previous optometrist retired and I struggled to find a new doctor. I'm glad that I found Dr. Brillante. read more

I've gotten my annual eye exam here two years in a row. I enjoy dr brillante. He and his staff are very pleasant. My most recent visit was 8/16/23. The receptionist Nicole: I bc couldn't ask for better service. This was my first time in 40 years having to wear glasses and she helped me pick them out and took her time with me in explaining my choices. The only downside about this office is the two times I've come I've had a decent wait. But that won't stop me from coming.what dr office do you NOT have to wait at? This places is a little difficult to find. Park where your gps drops you off at and follow the signs. It's an elevator ride up and few turns. Once I checked in everything went smoothly from there. I did the standard pre-eye exam which included a dilation. For an additional $30 you can opt for imaging but I opted for standard dilation,which is covered by my insurance. After the initial screening the Optometrist came to start the exam. I explained to him that I was having some twitching in my right eye and that I felt my vision had gotten worse over the past year. I've been wearing glasses my entire life so me and eye exams are pretty familiar with each other. This eye exam seem to be a little quick and I'm not sure if I felt it was thorough. It consisted of not only reading the letters from front to back but it also reading numbers and deciphering which image is clearer. I was not a fan of this method as I was unfamiliar with it and I felt unsure about my selections. I also Recognized it could be an updated practice in the optometry world. After my eye exam was complete The optometrist confirm my vision had changed over the past year. He review the images of my eyeball with me and gave me my updated prescription. What I could appreciate about this office is that there was no pressure to buy frames. They also give you the option to have your prescription either printed or emailed. I opted for both. I need to get my old pair of glasses (which were not bought at this office) to be adjusted. The office manager (I believe) adjusted my glasses and I was on my way. I did end up ordering a pair of glasses from another place with the prescription. So I guess I will find out if the updated prescription is better. Overall I think if the glasses turn out OK I will probably stick with this office. read more

Love live this place. The staff is wonderful and patience and don't mind if you ask questions. I was done with my exam and forgot to ask the Dr. a question, Nicole went and found him and he actually came back and got me and took me back to the exam room to address my concern / questions, whaaaaat, I'm so impressed with this office. They have a client for life. When you are there they don't make you feel as if you're in a Dr setting but more like a friends place you just stop over at. Dr. Tom Brilliante is an absolute gem. I've had to see 14 doctors over the past few years for various conditions from a degenerative eye condition to tumors, respiratory issues..... Quite a few of these doctors' visits weren't the best (Some docs have a God Complex, get irritated if you "ask too many questions", and are averse to incorporating alternative/ holistic methods of treatment).... Of the 14 physicians, Dr. Tom is the most memorable, in a good way. He referred me to someone who specializes in my eye condition and was beyond helpful with a superb bedside manner to boot. He followed up even when he didn't have to, which in my opinion, shows he is one of the few ppl who haven't lost touch with their calling and still sees patients as people, and not just another number. Both of his receptionists are helpful, polite, and professional as well, especially the shorter lady. The place is clean & serene. I highly recommend Dt. Tom. for your opto needs. read more

This is in Decatur's Oakhurst neighborhood, near the U-Joint. Renee was out for the week when I went in for an exam, so haven't met her yet, but Tom and I spent probably 20 minutes just chatting about business (his and mine), what it's like to work with your spouse, Decatur.... really great guy. Nothing sterile or corporate about the decor, and they had several great frames that I liked. I have been going to Decatur Eye Care for almost two years now and I think they're fantastic. Dr. Brillante is a caring, focused (no pun intended) doctor with staff that's also very sincere about providing great service to their clients. And I was surprised that even though they have a smaller inventory of frames than the big chains, they buy really fashion-forward styles and I've been able to find frames every time. There are other optometrists closer to me (even walking distance to my house), but I prefer driving to Decatur Eye Care. I highly recommend them. read more

Best. Eye place. Ever. Before I had totally moved to town, my fiancee made me an appointment with Decatur Eye Care. I needed a check up and some new contacts. Because of my schedule, I was unable to make it during the week, and they graciously took me in on a Saturday morning - when they would not otherwise have been open. Their office is a charming and very comfortable, nicely decorated and inviting. You couldn't ask for better customer service. It may have had to do with the fact that we were the only ones in the office, but there was no hurry, and their professional expertise was exceeded only by their friendliness and convenience. Seeing is believing...um, okay lame eye doctor reference aside, Decatur Eye Care is hands down one of the best eye doctors I've ever been to. The space is awesome. Much different than your typical stuffy retail spaces. It's decorated in a warm, hip and inviting fashion and the husband and wife team make you feel welcome, a first priority, and informed throughout the whole experience. I've never had an eye doctor that would really take the time to listen to your concerns and explain decisions in so much detail I had no doubt I was receiving quality service. Word of warning, there is a lack of signage on the cluster of buildings in this area, so I was wandering around the parking lot for a little bit. I was just thinking I needed to get my eyes re-checked at Decatur Eye Care and googled their phone number. The search took me to the Yelp reviews and I received such fabulous service here a couple of years ago that I thought I should add to the praise. I have had three pairs of glasses from Decatur Eye Care - my primary frames, a pair of Oakleys that I had re-lensed with prescription polarized lenses and another pair of sunglasses (after I lost the Oakleys in a swimming hole in Puerto Rico. Oops). The office is warm and welcoming and Renee is the most helpful, friendly medical office professional I have encountered. I also took my middle daughter (who has a flair for the dramatic) to the office after she decided her vision was blurry and she needed glasses. I suspected the underlying reason was that her best friend had just gotten glasses, so I took her to DEC for a check. Dr Tom checked her over, without being condescending or patronizing and gave her a clean bill of ocular health. He can tell when kids are exaggerating in order to get cool glasses, and for this, I thank him. read more

Tom and Renee are an awesome team. They are very personable, informative and make the entire experience fantastic. I've just had the best customer service of my life, and I am in my 60's. Decatur Eye Care replaced the lenses in my glasses based on my ophthalmologists new prescription for me, only to discover the following week that the new prescription was not correct. In fact, my old prescription enabled me to see better than the new one. My ophthalmologist denied culpability, but I was out $425 for the new lenses which I couldn't wear. After much discussion, and an intervening vacation, I returned home to be contacted by Renee that Decatur Eye Care had decided to refund my money and work it out with my ophthalmologist to be reimbursed for their lab fee without further involvement on my part. This was after Renee had spent lots of her own time trying to resolve the problem, and Dr. Brillante had double checked my original prescription with a courtesy eye exam. I hope these details will illustrate what stellar folks run this business. I will be a customer for life. read more

I am someone who is extremely nervous about anyone touching my eyes, so trips to the eye doctor are usually anxiety-ridden. Dr. Brillante made this experience as painless as possible. He is kind, smart and makes you feel right at home. He worked with me so that we could get the most out of my appointment without me having to go through certain procedures that could wait till a visit in the future.
