A week later they still haven't been ordered, and I made a 2nd request to speak to the Dr. In the mean time, my Mom passed and I needed to travel back east for the funeral. I made another call, explained my Mom's funeral, and asked if I could get one additional sample set of the current lenses, since they are better than nothing, just to cover till I'm back. Keep in mind the first set were off-the-shelf diagnostic lenses, probably didn't cost them anything. They said 'no, you'll need to purchase boxes of them if you want to have a set to travel with'... I then made a 3rd request to talk to the Dr., mind you each of these times I was assured she'd call me back. It was week 3 before I got a call back from the doctor, and it happened to be the day of Mom's funeral. I said I couldn't talk because it was the day of the funeral and I was with family. I paused a beat, expecting something to the effect of 'sorry for your loss', the minimum you'd expect from any person that has an ounce of empathy for a fellow human being experiencing the trauma of losing their parent.. Her lack of any response in that pause made it clear she couldn't care less, and she wanted me to know it. So I continued, telling her I'd call again when I'm back home, but did want her to know I'd requested a call back 3 times, with her staff saying each time I'd be getting a call back, thinking maybe it was a staff issue. Her only retort was that I could be scheduling office visits to ask questions, and not rely on her returning calls. As I said before, sometimes I make bad choices, and this appears to be one of them. Before getting the call from the Dr, I was hoping the issues were just with the office staff, but once I did speak to the Dr, I realized the complete lack of care comes from the top down.

During what should have been a routine eye exam for my 6-year-old son, Dr. Lee accidentally poked him in the eye while putting eyedrops in his eyes. This wasn't a minor incident - my son ended up in the emergency room with a swollen eye and a bacterial infection that required medical treatment. I should have trusted my instincts when we first arrived - the office had a noticeable stench and didn't appear clean. Given that my son developed a bacterial infection from this incident, I now suspect the unsanitary conditions played a role in what happened to him. Eye exams for young children require extra care and attention, and this level of carelessness is completely unacceptable. When I requested that he be seen to assess the damage, her office told me it would cost $158 for the appointment because it wasn't covered by insurance. What makes this even worse is that while she acknowledged poking him in the eye when it happened (which is how I knew it even happened), she later denied it ever occurred. This lack of accountability and honesty is deeply concerning from a healthcare professional. As a parent, I trusted this professional with my child's vision and safety, and that trust was violated. The pain and distress this caused my son, not to mention the additional medical expenses and trauma of spending all day in the ER, could have been avoided with proper care and technique. I cannot recommend this practice to anyone, especially families with young children. When it comes to your child's eye health, you need someone who will be gentle, careful, and competent. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.

My only option, I was told, was to go to a walk-in clinic or the emergency room, in either case I would be waiting hours for an on-call ophthalmologist to show up. Then it occurred to me to see my optometrist - Dr. Carrie Lee. She saw me that very same day (a Friday), and I can only imagine she had to really juggle her schedule to squeeze me in. In the event, she was able to identify the problem. It was bad, but not any of the terrible options suggested by Dr. Google. Later I emailed her (on a holiday) with a question about the application of a treatment for an unrelated issue. To my surprise she responded with the answer in about 5 minutes (!). Dr. Lee is a treasure who really cares about her patients.

(Recommended most of my friends too) The clinical side is still very strong. The eye doctor was incredibly nice, professional, and gave a thorough, quick exam. However, most of the staff is new now. While most of them are great, the technician who took the initial photos of my eyes could have done a better job slowing down and explaining what to expect, especially with the air-puff machine. My main disappointment is with the optical shop's new policies. I used to be able to order a different frame color to try on before committing to a purchase. Now, there is a strict deposit rule. While I understand that businesses get burned by people ordering frames and not buying them, it was shocking to feel like a 13-year loyal relationship didn't mean anything to the business. It's a bummer, and because of the policy shift, I'll likely be looking for a new optical shop for my next pair.

The service and staff have always been great until recently thanks to one particular individual. I'll codename him the rooster. My wife and I go in to drop off our glasses. I needed to update my lenses to the new prescription while my wife needs to discuss how the lenses might be the cause of some vision issues. The rooster, whom was helping us proceeded to explain to her in a less than polite tone why she was mistaken. My wife tried to explain further what she meant. To which the rooster stated "as I explained" in a stern tone how she wasn't experiencing what she was experiencing. He proceeded to make my wife feel pretty small. I had to step in to stand by her to make sure things returned to a more respectful tone. The job of customer service is to help, not to make customers feel stupid for the help they require. The rooster failed to accomplish this. He did succeed in assuring that this visit to Invision Optometry would be our last.

Dr. Lee is very personable and easy to talk to. Clear instructions given as we went through all the vision exam. Entire experience was about an hour as we did a couple extra tests that I haven't done before, just to look into my cornea and eye pressure. After the exam, it was easy to preorder new contacts. Paid nearly $300 for the frames. They mentioned the lab would order a new frame in the same style since the floor model was defective. To my dismay, it seems like they were not monitoring my order since they just found out my frames were still on back order. The lab is out for the weekend already, so they'll give me a call on Monday. 4/21/26: Do not receive a call back on Monday. Call the office on Tuesday for an update. Front desk worker says all the opticians are busy and they give me a call back by end of day. According to the front desk staff, the frames are still on back order. Did not hear back that day. 4/22/26: I received a text from the optician saying the frames I chose are not manufactured anymore and I'd need to come in to choose a new frame.
