This place is average at best. The service you get is dependent on whomever is working that day. I've been to this place four times, however I don't think I will be coming back. The first visit was great and the lady did a fantastic job with my eyebrows. I thought I finally found a place I can go to for eyebrow threading. She took time to listen to my concerns, and also took time with shaping my eyebrows to fit my face shape. Unfortunately, the second visit was not great at all. It was a different lady this time and she rushed through the process. When I sat down, I informed her that my eyebrows naturally have different arch heights, and to make sure to start with my left eyebrow first since it's the "good eyebrow" and the shape is already there, she just needs to clean up the area. It gives a good example on how my right side should be as the right side has a naturally higher arch, and if not paid attention properly can cause the eyebrows to look uneven in height and arch. The lady ignored my request and concerns and proceeded to start with the right. I was in shock that she had ignored my request and concerns. She looked at me and laughed. Yes, laughed, and said "why?" While shrugging. She did follow my request after I explained again, however rushed and had an attitude the rest of the time I was there. I left feeling really disrespected and quite honestly, confused as to how she thought it was ok to laugh at a customer's request and concerns. I thought maybe this was just a bad day, and because it was a different lady, to not make a huge fuss about it. The third time was much better as I had another person. This fourth and last time however, has basically made me decided this this is not the place I would want to go to anymore. I had yet a different lady. She sat me down and rushed. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. When she was "done" she asked me to take a look. My eyebrows were not done. One eyebrow still had quite a few hairs that needed to be threaded and both did not have a nice shape. I pointed out the flaws and she fixed them. After paying. I left and did some more inspection at home and was very disappointed with how they looked overall. The shape was not there, and it honestly looked like she did the bare minimum. Overall, this place is iffy and the service you get is lackluster. If you're ok with coming to a place where you wonder if the place is going to give good service or not each time, it's not a place you want to be. I know I have given this place a few chances and some might wonder why bother, but I honestly believe in visiting a business a few times to see if there is a difference in service. Sometimes it can just be a bad day. Unfortunately for this place it's just not up to my standards. Tips for the business owner: I think you have a couple good employees, however those that aren't really leave a bad experience. Please be more aware of how your employees treat the customers. It is not appropriate, and quite insulting for your employee to laugh at a customer's request and concerns. It is also unprofessional to half-ass a job and expect the customer will not notice. And if the customer does point it out, it is very rude to show annoyance and impatience that you need to spend more time on the person. I understand that the amount of people seen correlates to the amount of revenue earned, it is still important to take the time to do a good job rather than rushing so you can get to the next customer. read more

As a middle eastern, I'm blessed (and cursed) with thick and unruly eyebrows. Only people with experience can work on them and get good results. The lady that used to thread my eyebrows closed business during pandemic and reopened in south riding. So, I had to look for a new place nearby. I chose to try this business after seeing great reviews on Yelp. I'm always skeptical that a new person will know how to do the job right without much feedback from me during the process. I booked an appointment on Thanksgiving eve and asked to have someone who has experience with thick eyebrows. The guy who took the call recommended an Indian lady by the name Sharddha (I hope I didn't butcher her name). I showed up on time but found several people waiting. I was glad I had an appointment, otherwise I'd have been waiting too long for my turn. The lady seemed in a hurry because of the long line of waiting customers, and I was terrified she'd mess up my eyebrows. To my surprise, that was the BEST threading I've had in years, and that's saying a lot. I was impressed at how fast, yet accurate and meticulous she was. I was very pleased that it was a hit from the first time. This will be my new place. read more

On my way to Pho Today for some yummy soup on a cool fall day and what do I spy?? A threading shop right there across from Boston Market? Right there! How have I never seen this place before? Oh, yeah, this spot only opened a few months ago. Well, I've been hauling my butt all the way down US50 to visit a very talented professional, and one who I have admired enough to take extended lunch breaks just to see, but really, it is a long way and fighting traffic on the way back is no fun. Besides, finding the time is harder than it looks and therefore my brows are in rough shape. This little oasis in the land of time that threading seemed to have forgotten was like a little ray of sunshine on my day. It is small. Really small. There are three chairs and only one of them appears to have a full-time aesthetician attached to it, but she is good. The light is good and the place is clean and modern looking, which I love considering how very ancient the art (and yes it is an art) of threading really is... and how efficient the task. The previous customer complained a bit as she shifted around in her chair and talked about torture. It was not a good sign. I sighed and mentally prepared myself for a slow rip job, but I was super surprised when I experienced only a miniscule amount of pain and was relieved when the carefully wielded threads just zippered right through the unwanted strays, leaving my brows beautifully shaped. My wallet stayed in pretty good shape as well. While they do accept credit cards and even tipping on credit cards, which I gratefully used, I will try to keep in mind that for this kind of thing, cash really is king. Went to this place after reading the good reviews on Yelp. I'm glad I did! Sharda was very nice and did a fabulous job on my eyebrows (they were seriously overdue on getting trimmed)! She shaped my eyebrows exactly the way I wanted, and took the time to make them look clean. Her threading room is towards the back of the spa. I was impressed by how comfortable her salon chair was! I moved to Fairfax about 2 years ago and I used to go to a place in Tysons to get my eyebrows done. The wait at the shop in Tysons was ridiculously long, so I decided to give the Eyebrow Design Center a try. LOVE THIS PLACE! I usually go during the week around lunch time and there is hardly ever a wait. Fairfax has been long overdue an affordable eyebrow threading salon. I read the Yelp reviews for the Eyebrow Design Center and decided to try it out. The salon is located in the back of Comfort and Joy salon in a strip mall. You walk right past the front cash register and into the back. A girl greeted me immediately and brought me further back to the threading room. I had to wait a few minutes but it wasn't bad at all considering I did not call ahead or make an appointment. Shardha was very sweet and did a great job on my brows. Quick and less painful than I'd experienced elsewhere. You really can't beat it for $10. Other places around Fairfax are around $15. The only negative is that the salon itself needs a facelift. Obviously that's not going to keep me away but it would be nice. I'll be back here for sure, my new go-to in Fairfax! read more

I have been here a few times after finding her on yelp. This place is convenient and you are in a private room. The threader does a great job on my eyebrows and upper lip. She is pretty quick so even if you have to wait it is not very long. My young daughter comes along and is able to sit and watch me so that is convenient for me too. I definitely recommend this place and although it is not very near my house, the convenience of having a private room and the quality of service is worth the drive for me. read more

Got my eyebrows threaded here for the first time -- great experience, and only $10! I've never had my brows professionally shaped. They were a weird mix of overgrown and over-plucked in places. Sharda shaped them up very nicely (in a comfy chair in a private room) and kept them as thick as possible. She also trimmed the hair after threading. They've never looked so good! Threading stings just a bit, but it was so quick and the slight redness disappeared in 20 minutes or so. I'm glad I called ahead -- I didn't really need an appointment, but I think Sharda needed a heads-up to be there when I arrived. I'm so glad I tried this out -- I will definitely become a regular here. No more mangling my own eyebrows! read more

I decided to stop by this brow place since I was in the area. My brow threader is really great! First I will say, I am ridiculously picky with my brows. I usually wax them myself but I am tired of doing it now. I've gone to one other place and they pretty much screwed my brows up, so I am now in the process of growing them out. Without them being fully grown in, I got them cleaned up by her (she is the only one). I forgot her name . She is so calm and nice and pretty confident. I am impressed! We went her based on the reviews and specifically for Sharda. Coming from California and literally 2 weeks new to the area, my daughter and I were in need of a new threader. We loved our threader in CA and so it's only natural that we would be very picky with who we go with. I called first to be sure she was there and she was kind and asked what time we would like to come. We arrived and she greeted us and took us right away. My daughter had her brows and upper lip threaded. Her eyebrows looked amazing!! Sharda cleaned it up and kept a natural arch. I had just my upper lip done. They always hand you a mirror to take a look and it looked fine. But I mean it's the upper lip, you can't really mess it up. However, the next day, in natural sunlight, i could see strays untouched and there were also a few that looked cut off, so the thread didn't catch it well. I asked my daughter to look at her lip, and she noticed strays too. Bummer! Which means, it won't last long. She was very nice, but really bummed both our upper lips weren't threaded completely. read more
