When I arrived I was greeted with a friendly smile from her assistants as always and was quickly offered the OPTOMAP. That's where they take a picture behind your eye. It's pretty cool actually and that allows the doctor to be able to see the overall health of your eye and can compare it from the previous year. What's awesome about that is if there are health concerns detected in your eye, it's more then likely, going on everywhere else in your body. After the pictures were taken, I was then taken to a waiting room. Moments later the doctor came in with a friendly smile we talked about our personal lives and had my normal eye exam. She's super friendly and funny, so I enjoy seeing her regularly even if she no longer accepts my insurance. She's always been honest with me and I feel she truly cares about the health of my eyes and is just a genuinely good person. Her prices are fair and I haven't had to worry about the insurance at all. I will continue to see her and recommend her to anyone else looking for a good eye doctor.

The woman who answered said of Dr Young, "she was only part-time" Dr Young was a man... (Dr. John Young) in trying to confirm I had the right place she became flippant and borderline rude. I will unfortunately be needing to find a new place for annual eye exams - this is not what I came to expect with the EYE GUYS and would advise anyone to look elsewhere than this now corporate operation that seems mostly interested in just selling eye glasses, not patient well being... I had been in a car accident and having lots of visual issues and was having a ton of vestibular and convergence problems. Because I didn't hit my head in my accident, I figured I was okay, but I wasn't. Dr Rodriguez figured out that I had post concussion syndrome, and helped me find a Vision therapist to help me heal and regain normal eyesight. Since then, he asks me every visit how I am. He has my best interest in mind, and always makes sure that my sight is perfect when I leave. He is extremely friendly and is so personable, which makes my visits enjoyable. I've had some visual changes with aura due to my migraines, but he has squeezed me in to make sure everything is okay. I have diabetes, and every year he carefully examines my eye health, and I get peace of mind knowing my pressure is in a great range! His staff always greet you by name and never push you to buy anything. They are very helpful and compassionate, and their recommendation for a blue light filter coating (prevencia) for my glasses has helped my neurological pain a lot! I've always been a contact lens girl, but because they offered me this lens option last year, I wear my glasses a lot more often because they are so comfortable! They even allow you to bring in your own frames purchased outside of their practice to get lenses put in. I love that I have that option. I highly recommend Optometric Care. It's a comfortable and intimate setting where you are treated much better than the larger chain stores. Dr. Rodriguez truly cares about his patients and will take fantastic care of you!
